The narrow walkway at night to the van made me so stressed! You definitely work great as a team in tight spots and everywhere else. I love watching it. ❤️
Fantastic Video! We stayed a few nights at that ferry beach last month in our van. We had wondered about how the whole crossing worked with a van. Now we know. Thanks for such great info!
Jan 2023 down the Baja in our Sprinter and saw the Ferry terminal in Lapaz. PS there are much nicer Camping beaches just a few miles down the road at Tecalote and beyond. I a 144 too , but have the factory "rear step bumper" so I am Just Over 6 meters. But you left you ladder on , so you were over too?? Heading down Jan 2024 but trying to find out IF they will charge the "over 6 meters" rate?
Did the Ferry company make Lisa exit the Van and go through the terminal? I heard that only the driver can be in the vehicle when loading? We plan on doing this same thing Feb 2023.
Hi, honestly not sure. I feel like you should be able to, but I do not know. If it wasn’t for the vehicle the Baja ferries seems to be not that expensive and nicer.
Do you not make copies of the passport and other paperwork as backup? I also heard that you shouldn't give out originals at traffic stops as they may take them as hostage and want money from you.
Hi Hsia! Yes we have copies of everything and we haven’t had to show our paperwork yet but we keep our originals in a safe spot. I think that may happen but it is over exaggerated on our news. Granted we stay vigilant and aware of the places we are traveling to.
You do NOT have to transport your pet in a crate on Baja Ferries. I made the trip in February 2022 and they offer a limited number of cabins that are pet friendly. You do need to crate them for the 5 minute journey from your car to the cabin. The pet is not allowed to leave the cabin during the 16 hour journey.
good question. in my case I took my dog out of the cabin and he went on the outside deck. I took paper towels to clean it up. I was yelled at after we got done as we were walking back to the cabin. I did bring puppy pads but my dog had never used them before and didn't seem interesting in trying. @@calvinconcepts

Can you take the TMC ferry without a car? Or is it with vehicle only?
Thanks for the updated info! 👍

My Sprinter is the larger van😔.

How do they relieve themselves in the room?
