I’ve been trying to do maths for 3 years now and it’s one of the hardest subject for me and every time I feel confident with the topics and walk into the exam I feel nervous and for some reason my mind goes blank, it’s as if I’ve done 0 revision.

With foundation questions it really tends to be easier to write the combinations methodically. All best S :-)

Just wanted to point out on question 11 that it asks how many different numbers can Sally make, not what are the different numbers can Sally make. So you'd conclude that Sally can make 6 different numbers :)
For question 3 you could also use the formula n + (n - 1) to find it where n is equal to the odd consecutive number you want to find. Say n is equal to 20 since you want to find the 20th odd consecutive number, then the number would be [ 20 + (20 - 1)] according to the equation which would give you the correct answer of 39.
Hi -- can someone help me out with this small problem? Is there a big difference between 0.005% and 0.1%? There is some medication that comes in two different strengths 0.005% and 0.1% and I'd just like to know if the 0.1% is significantly stronger than 0.005%? Thank you.

Hello I really appreciate your help but for question 5 where you have to work out the amount of packets she can buy for children. If you divide 130 by 8 you get 16.25 and if you round that to nearest whole number it had to be rounded down to 16 right not 17?
Annam Mahmood Hi - you’re not really rounding the number as you need to find an additional 2 chocolate bars. That’s going to come from buying another pack of 8 ... so you’ll need 17 altogether. (7.27)
Can anyone solve this maths question and explain how to get the correct answer: In two days Jake read 286 pages of a book. On the first day he reads 36 pages fewer than the second. How many pages did he read on the first day?
Hi - thanks for the question. Imagine that we ignore the 36 pages, and Jake had read the same on each of the two days: 286 - 36 (ignored) = 250 pages in total This would mean he had read 125 pages each day Now, we add back in the 36 pages so: 1st day 125 2nd day 125 + 36 = 161 To check, if we add 125 to 161 we get 286 pages. Can anyone solve this maths question and explain how to get the correct answer: In two days Jake read 286 pages of a book. On the first day he reads 36 pages fewer than the second. How many pages did he read on the first day?
Hi - thanks for the question. Imagine that we ignore the 36 pages, and Jake had read the same on each of the two days:
286 - 36 (ignored) = 250 pages in total
This would mean he had read 125 pages each day
Now, we add back in the 36 pages so:
1st day 125
2nd day 125 + 36 = 161
To check, if we add 125 to 161 we get 286 pages.
