I’m a huuuuge sucker for a large veranda space! 😂 It keeps your place sooo much warmer in the colder months, since it blocks cold air/drafts, so the heating bill is a lot lower. It’s also the perfect place to make a little plant area with a breakfast table 🌿 I’d definitely choose a terrace over that if I had the choice though! That’s so frustrating about the loan :( There is still so much red tape for foreign residents in Korea, particularly when it comes to banking 😣
The winner for me was apt n.14, i feel in love is literally my dream house, everything about it is just so perfect even the bathrooms, space and layout, i always wanted a spacious living room with an open beautiful kitchen like this AND WITH THE BIG DOOR/WINDOWS to a varanda, omg i'm out of breathe here lol i also felt like the ligthing was great to be honest, even with the varanda, i felt like other apartments you showed were darker, but i'm only seeing through a video, can't tell 100%
apartment hunting vlogs are my all-time favorites 🤍 so so excited to enjoy this new journey with you guys (gonna miss your apartment but new aesthetic houses await us), wish you all the luck 🤍🥺✨
As a plant person I love the veranda space. I think it’s the floor to ceiling windows. My sister has a similar area and that’s where she spends the bulk of her time. Having a coffee, watch the sunrise, approaching storms, people and cars below there’s always something to see. At night there’s string lights and it feels like being in a treehouse looking at the stars. It’s also a great spot for yoga. And me, I’d add sooo many plants!
The first real estate agent is so nice. She warned you abt the landlord and the possibility of losing the deposit. A lot of real estates dont do that bcs they want to let you sign as soon as possible for commission or sum
i cant belive its been 2 years since your last moving vlogs ! ☺️ the amount of excitement this vlog has is so contagious 💗 whether its a reno or a moving series I'm all in !
Apartment 11 is definitely the winner. The whole opened layout let's you breathe and even if it doesn't have so much sunlight, the space and the kitchen design is soooo worth it
Wow, you guys visited so many appartements ! I hope you find a way that makes you feel happy and safe whether you move out or stay where you are right now ! Sending you love from Switzerland again ! 💜
time flies so fast it feels like just a few months ago i was watching your last apartment series! but i'm so insanely happy for you and your partner and i will be tuning in to every apartment episode. (also the sage green kitchen in apartment 2 was the show stopper for me i instantly fell in love)
This is so inspiring! I'm looking for my first proper apartment right now, and although I won't be able to afford anything as nice as what you show here, it's super inspiring 😍🌱 I'll work hard so that I too one day can live in a beautiful place like these apartments! I also love how they have such big windows! Coming from Norway myself, I just feel like big windows is a must, especially during the darker winter months!
Aww that’s so exciting love !! You should go back and watch my old apartment tours, at one time I lived in a 3x3 m space for a year and it was so cute. You can make everything super cozy 💚 we all start somewhere, I’m so excited for you! 💚
I loved all the apartments you saw (especially the quirky ones lol), but your apartment is my favourite by far! However, as a moveaholic, I totally get the desire to be in a new space, can't wait to see what you guys end up doing!!
Thanks for taking us along! Stairs are cute until you have to carry anything up or down them and the ones shown look very steep 😥 I’ve seen people turn those loft type areas into a sleeping space but it definitely has a claustrophobic feel to me lol
Damn the deposit is 300k US Dollarssss???? Wtf. Thats crazy but apartment 14 is soooooo NICE! I fell inlove with the place just looking at it! That apartment reminds me of a kdrama i watched ❤❤
I love apartments 3,9,11,13 and 14 I wouldn't be able to chose which one to live in out of all of these. Their all so cute and gave there own little charm!! I'm in love 😄😄😄
Apartment hunting and renting is always sooo dificult 😢 so many things to have in mind. Nevertheless they were all amazing Sissel!! For sure the perfect place and timing will come to you eventually!! And it is going to be everything you guys need and more 🫰🏼 lots of love
I think** the little window room in apt 10 is to hang dry clothing and have the window open to outside without having the window open into the house too(haven’t finished the video yet just dropping a side note)
it had been almost 2 yrs already!? it felt like yesterday when you announced you're moving again (this time, with Jake). can't wait for another moving series! tho the last one haven't settled on me fully yet, I'm excited for you!☺
I didn't know such apartments existed in Korea 😍😍 thanks for this video! I loveeeee house hunting but I won't be doing it for a longggg time so I love doing it 2nd hand through your video ♡
Hi Sissel didnt finish watching the video yet but I wanted to stop it to say thank you for being so friendly with us, I really think of you like kind of a friend and I am feeling super happy for you and Jake in this new adventure!! It is so good to see you both that happy and full of joyyyy 💗
Half Jonse sounds like the shared ownership system in the UK. With shared ownership, you can buy a share of a home which usually starts at 25%, and you pay the rest through rent. Through this, the deposit for the house tends to be less than if you were to buy 100% of the home, and you still have the flexibility of moving since you didn't commit a big mortgage on the property.
Is it possible for you to share the building name and location apartment 11,12, and 13? Those were the prettiest in my opinion. You speak Korean so naturally. This was my first time watching one of your videos and I really enjoyed your voice and your energy lol
Yes!....YES!!😊😊😊😊😊. The Apartment series is back! WOOOO!😀🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉. My favorite is apartment number 6.😊💙💙💙💙💙💙👍. The whole area is so perfect and shiny!💚⭐💚⭐💚⭐💚⭐💚⭐💚👍
I started to follow you during your apartment series two years ago and i can’t believe how time flew!! The apartment 8 was so beautiful!! I wonder why terraces in Korea are not common.
at first I didn't understand the Jeonse deposit so I had to google a bit, but I guess it's basically the same as "buying a house" but only paying utilities monthly & then at the end of the contract and getting your money back aka "selling the house". I guess this is the most profitable way for both the person renting (who isn't losing money by having to pay a monthly rent) & the owner who's investing that big sum of money and getting to keep the interest. I hope these Jeonse owners are good investors tho or else it's a 0 operation. Very excited to continue watching the video :)
Technically yes, but if you rent a house with this system you still don’t own the house and can’t change stuff or hang something on the walls. Kinda same as normal renting 💚
Advantages of the Korean "JEON-SE" System - "A" found his favorite "game machine" in the used market - The price of the game console is $500, but all "A" has is $100.(The price will go up by $100 next week) -"A" borrows up to $150" from parents (banks). but $250 empty. - "A" makes a suggestion to friend "B". If you lend me $250, you lend me the game console for a year and I'm going to return the entire $250 a year later. Totally agreed by "B". - "A" has the advantage of being able to own a $500 gaming console for $100 "B" has the advantage of being able to can use the game console for free for a year. - "B" buys another game console by adding $250 money back plus a year's income without spending on rental (housing) - If there was only a "monthly rent system," "A" couldn't buy a $500 game console with $250 (100+150). * In Korea, the price of houses has increased significantly every year.
Renting in Korea is very interesting. In Australia we don’t have this kind of a system. The huge amount of money you would put down to rent we would put down as a deposit on a house to buy and not just rent. And most apartments have balconies/verandahs - usually multiple 😁😁
Hi sissel. Hope finally you get the apartment which you really love. While watching your video, I had a question. Which area do you looked for? As I know, it is really hard to find that kind of house which has couple of floor, 3 rooms with 4.5억 전세. I am really interesting that kind of houses!!

I have a problem with korean apartments, they look like hospitals, maybe its because of the lightning and the white walls. But the kitchen in apartment 11 was lovely
Yeah kinda agrees, I like white walls but lighting here is not ideal. Korea tend to like bright white LED lights because it makes the space looks “clean”. But it’s very harmful to the eyes and mind 😭💚
@@sisselab Oh im relieved that you agree 😅 Yes totally and the lightning isnt very cozy or relaxing, I think we are spoiled with being used to scandinavian homes 😌
well yeah, gangbuk has old buildings and thier layouts are strange, but if you try to find apartment in other part of seoul, you would find many apartments like no. 11~14 but also with large windows and open views. I also think apartment #14 has bit old layout. Those kind of veranda situation was started by state development companies in 70s and it stuck in the standard apartment layout design but just like you said, people hate it and it has disappeared in new constructions for like decades ago. And people just demolish the inner wall/window to expand thier living room and bedroom if they buy the old one.
That's a hugeeee chunk of change for renting an apartment! I thought Dubai is expensive, but Korea is probably saying "bitch, just you wait" to me and my bank account. Anyway, I hope you find the apartment of your dream ❤
How nice, my boyfriend and I made the decision to start saving up together to buy a nice apartment as well so we could get married within a year or two, unfortunately the tough reality of housing prices in Korea makes us skeptical at timesLOL
Con 288k dólares te podes comprar una casa gigante, con espacios muy grandes en barrio privado en Argentina jajaja, es increíble lo caro que es vivir en Seúl
I thought you wanted to move to older area. If you are just getting a new apt. that looks what you have now, just stay put. Moving is expensive and I don't think you would gain enough to move unless you find a outdoor space.
It’s nice to see your video, the last time I watched your video was last 2 years, please are you based in south or North Korea, I have dreams of visiting South Korea one day 🤞🏼
How does jonsei work exactly? If you dont pay monthly rent, does that value get deducted from your deposit (ie. How does the landlord get paid? How are utilities covered?)? And do you get any of your jonsei money back when you want to move/contract is up?
So, the landlord gets your big chunk of deposit. With that money he’s going to invest meaning that he can make more money off of that money, his income is entirely depended on what money is left after the deposit is sent back again. You pay utility fees to the landlord too. You have to pay interest to the bank for the loan you took each month, right now the interest is around 5% which is quite high. After your contract the landlord sends the loan back to the bank 💚
Legally, the house is provided as collateral for your deposit. So, in general, Jeonse is safe because the price of the house is much bigger than your deposit. (2 times in avg)
I refuse to believe it's been two years! I still vividly remember your apartment from last time like it was yesterday. It's crazy how time flies. :(

They have these huge verandas because they open that to move furnitures in and out when they move.
Do they not give you a fridge and other kitchen appliances? You're expected to move/bring your own in Korea?
what do you mean the deposit is 220k and more? on top of that rent? are you renting or buying an apartment I don't get it can you explain?

- "A" found his favorite "game machine" in the used market
- The price of the game console is $500, but all "A" has is $100.(The price will go up by $100 next week)
-"A" borrows up to $150" from parents (banks). but $250 empty.
- "A" makes a suggestion to friend "B".
If you lend me $250, you lend me the game console for a year
and I'm going to return the entire $250 a year later. Totally agreed by "B".
- "A" has the advantage of being able to own a $500 gaming console for $100
"B" has the advantage of being able to can use the game console for free for a year.
- "B" buys another game console by adding $250 money back plus a year's income without spending on rental (housing)
- If there was only a "monthly rent system," "A" couldn't buy a $500 game console with $250 (100+150).
* In Korea, the price of houses has increased significantly every year.
Legally, the house is provided as collateral for your deposit. So, in general, Jeonse is safe because the price of the house is much bigger than your deposit. (2 times in avg)
I've lived in Korea in an apartment with a veranda and it just makes the whole apartment a lot darker..
