One small thing I don’t think many viewers of the show know (I looked up the cast on IMDb); The actor/actress who plays Cynthia is non-binary and goes by they/them, which kind of explains the character’s tomboyish style in some (but not all) parts of the show
Fox did a good job with the Broadway Version of Grease, which was done live about a decade ago. It was more faithful to the broadway version than the movie version, which was slightly sanitized.
The original Grease wasn't a parody? It was a bit satirical and used the 1950s to explore themes of the 70s. This show uses the 1950s to explore themes of today. I think it's very much like the musical in it's goal and comedy but it's a bit different (in a good way)
This is supposed to be in the 1950s. The writing should mimic that. Some of the words and one liners were never used or heard of back then. The clothing and style is pretty good but the music and vocal style is very incorrect. Nobody sang like Billie or Ariana back then. It was way different. I just like being as close to reality as possible if its gonna take place in a certain time period. Many things im not gonna mention but i wanted to like it but idk. Lol
Grease in general has never been faithful to the 1950s, that's a lot of the point of it. The music and language has always been 1970s-esque, as it's supposed to be a parody of the shows back then, rather then it being faithful to the time. So it's not at all unfaithful that it's 2020-esque, it's kinda the point of grease.
Some of the songs are very much in line with the music of the time. Please please please is closer to a lot of that time period’s music than any of the rock. The songs are wonderfully constructed from bits of jazz, blues, country, and the pop music of the time. Rock and Roll was just starting to grow into the revolution it would become in just about a year. The series does really good job of highlighting the music of the time through the radio. I particularly liked the call out to the release of Elvis’ 1st hit.
In my opinion, this show sorta went down hill with each episode. I blame hazel - I like all the other characters but she feels rather pointless to the plot and they spend too much time on her

great reaction! i think you'll like the route they're taking with olivia's story, they're definitely not doing pretty little liars, thank god :)
Thank you so much!!🥰❤️❤️sounds good!😂can’t wait to watch the next episode soon!! :)
What do you mean by "definitely pretty little liars"?
@@aussiefurbymogwaifan6621 That they are not trying to romanticize pedophilia
@@aussiefurbymogwaifan6621 in pretty little liars aria dates her teacher and they stay together but for pink ladies they aren’t going down that path

In the original the tbirds mooned on tv at the dance that’s why they showed mooning lmao

14:20 - The pink ladies are going commando. LOL
Hi thanks for sharing your video and information about grease
Grease pink ladies is kinda like between the outsiders movie and the wanderers movie in a way also 1990s tv show called the outsiders tv show
Yes!!🙌🙌completely agree!😂
Night 1 June 3rd this: ⬆️
The Anne of Green gables appreciation wall I’ve come to the right channel
Happy to have you here!!🥰💕
The show also features the ultimate test for all those claiming to be 'Grease' fans - what is Rizzo's first name?
A couple of the movie Pink Ladies are in the second one. You should try to see that movie.
Wow that sounds interesting!! I’ll have to check it out, thanks!!🥰💕
Ommfg my eyes
Is that Anne of Green Gables in your background?
Yes!
Did Olivia Newton John play Jane in the film Grease?
Nope!😂Olivia played Sandy in Grease, a new student. Jane is Frenchy’s older sister who appears to only be in this show which is a prequel to Grease.

No this is about 4-6 years before the movie Grease. Maybe even longer because everyone were seniors in grease so add a few more years for that.
I have not seen this grease tv show yet
Is this show a parody like the musical?
It’s definitely campy and very self aware but I don’t know if I’d call it full parody

I sadly agree with this she came out of nowhere but I still really like the music and vibes
I’m so glad you’re reacting to this show. I ended up really liking ROTPL 🩷
