Can you unlock it remotely from far away? Also can you unlock from the outside using your Apple Watch? That would be amazing when I’m carrying my toddler
If you have the hub, yes you can remotely unlock it. I would assume you can from your apple watch. I know I could always unlock it via the Home Assistant app on my Samsung watch.
What I do not like about this lock is the huge button. Any larger pets that get excited and jump up against the door when someone is approaching are potentially going to open the door. Sadly no Geofencing which prevent the button working when no one is home.
The lock is a stright up nightmare in size, my goodness that's a huge **itch. I guess the plus to this lock is that every person that comes to your home will comment on the oversized wart on your door.
Hey, if you don't like the look or size, choose a different lock. It is design as a retrofit lock vs a full replacement for folks that cannot remove their current deadbolt. Check out the Aqara U100 for a slimmer option.
@@ThisSmartHouse Oh I've been rocking the Nest Yale door lock since it was release. Never had an issue and still has kept it's finish. Sure cell phones used to be bulky when they first come out but how have they not made this smaller. 😅

Thanks for the video. Can you install the app and control the lock from more than one phone?
Yes you can. Or you can share access with another user.
This lock looks really great and can solve the annoyance of forgetting my keys.😃
It is a great solution if you want to leave your existing outside lock in place!
Just a small comment the tagged product is the link for old SwitchBot lock
They don't have the new one in one of RUclips's supported stores... yet.

If you use home assistant solving this problem is pretty easy
You can change what the button does in the app. So you should be able to disable it.
@@ThisSmartHouse I would want to use it when at home, just do not want the pets opening the door when not at home.
That would be a good suggestion. Home vs away use.
