i've had mine for 21 years now... and it still makes me "tingle in the nether regions" when i open up that throttle.. as soon as that puppy hits 8000 it starts to sound really mean.. and it still pulls away like nothing else..
Great top end speed @257 kmh/160 mph for an L-Twin engine. One just sold on Bring A Trailer online auction, 4/22/2022, great condition, 26k miles for $8,000 U.S.
I think the first production fuel injected bike was the 1985 bmw k100. I might be wrong though. Great video and fabulous machine. Dont sell it! Cheers from Québec, Canada.
Man. Im happy yur still a live! Coming out of the slowcorner on the middel of the street! Yur a very unsafe driver. You really need to know this bike conficuration better. ( says a 888 owner) Love yur Vid tho.. ;-)
What do you have for an air filter and exhaust? I have an uni filter and staintune exhaust. Maybe I cant hear it with a helmet on but mine sounds nothing like yours! Nice bike!
Could anyone compare this, or an 888 to a 916/996? Obviously more power as you go newer and bigger, but what about seating / bar position, maintenance, etc. ?
Well I actually have a 748 now, so I can compare it to that. They are quite similar. Obviously the engines are almost identical. The 748 feels a bit faster to change direction, but compared to modern bikes you still need to muscle it around a bit. On the 748 you are more leant forward and have more weight on your wrists, but on the contrary I feel like I have marginally more space for my legs. The riding position is definitely more sporty on the 748. Maintenance wise, again they're similar. It's swings and roundabouts really. For example all the fairings are on dsuz fasteners on the newer bike, and so they are really easy to take off, but on the contrary the single sided swingarm needs a bit more attention. They are both cool though, and until recently the 851 / 888 have been considerably cheaper, atleast in my country.
I love the power of the modern bike, but the sound, the sensection of old bike are awesome!!!.i super love Ducati
Me too, the same sensation 👌

Without looking at the link, Kawasaki had a Z1 Classic for one year with FI, and then the Honda Turbo's did.
the japanese can make another million v twin's....nothing sounds like a ducati.nothing.
The VTR 1000 SP1 and SP2 sounded very nice.
Also the sound of RC213V-S is simply divine(although it's V4).
HONDA SP 1-2 ALSO NICE SOUND AND MORE HORSEPOWER :-)
Can't beat the V Twin induction roar !
I had the exact same bike, bought used in 1994.
he definitely knows how to ride it.
