So sad, those poor families of the victims with the holidays being so close, a true tragedy... the fact the 2 pilots did their best to avoid causing further death is so brave an amazing. I’m confused because I fly out of here normally and when I teach people, there is no option to go left. If you have some altitude you can make it to the golf course and if you are very low, a turn to the right is a much better choice.. I think the pilots panicked but condolences to them.

Turning back to the runway is known as "the impossible turn" for very good reasons and pilots are usually trained not to try to do that, but to go straight out and find a flat place. Trying to turn in a bad situation is almost a guarantee of a wing stall and crash.
Basic, first lesson: loss of power on takeoff, land straight ahead. Doesn’t look that good? Land straight ahead…Bank angle increases = stall speed increases.
It might not be as simple as, “they just had a loss of power”. It could have been a plethora of other things. Load shifted aft. Prop went into beta. All of which causes a total loss of positive control of the aircraft. Landing straight ahead isn’t always an option if you can’t even fly straight. Goes to show your shallow knowledge of flying, even on a basic level. Don’t be such an insensitive chair pilot. Do better

Sounds as if this brave flightcrew did everything possible to save this aircraft and medicate the damage an impact with terrain will cause. Sad sad sad 😔 😢
At 7:43 Is it fair to say that the witness , Sergiy Schpanka is most likely Ukranian ? Lucky he was right there to film the accident and get to be on National television to share his story.
