We just finished a sweet super long river run in Ontario Canada. Best day ever! I'm running a prop on a 55 feathercraft vagabond the river is ten feet deep but way back in the boonies time couldn't be more well spent!
I'd consider investing the time to get the bolt heads sunk a little deeper into the protective plastic layer under the boat. They sit quite high and I already saw one half ripped out and bent on a previous video. Once the layer starts wearing out a little more and you hit more rocks it might make a mess of it.
You need to install a towing eye on the boats further down the front of the hull like most other boats. Then if you need to tow one again you will find it much easier. Looks like such unreal fun.
@@Dirk3672_StupidYT good point. Mabe a tube punched through the hull in the right location and welded in so its not sticking out at all would be the way to go.
Put tow hooks front and rear on both so youre not tying off to hand rails. Eventually you will bend them. Also, bottom of the boats look like the bottom of my SXS.

Drag boats are one thing, but I think OP is talking about sprint boats. Those are a different breed entirely. I used to watch those guys run in Marsing, Idaho. Crazy fun.
It gets even better - there's 1000-2000HP jet turbine powered jet boats that race up rivers doing upwards of 140MPH Search "turbine jet boat" for the good stuff
Unsure how your setups are, but I've done some custom jet drive stuff in the past and tapped the coupler and driveshaft support bushings for grease zerks. Keeps them cool and moving freely so the splines don't strip. Also check alignment. Bring some spare fuel and tools for next time. Nice runs!
Carry some nylon line for towing. It has some elasticity to take shock. Probably 1/2 inch would be sufficient for your purposes. Also cary some Dyneema soft shackles as well
@@GaryLX870D yeah that's my thoughts. Shove everything in the stacker and then you don't have to worry about how you bring the extras. Sucks that you can't see the awesome boats though.
Might want to check the old nuts and bolts in those jet boats after this at 59 secs there is one almost loose on the left side of the windshield those teflon nuts shouldn't back off but that one is.

@@OwensGarage I cant even begin to tell you how many water pumps, cylenoids hoses or wiring weve replaced on the fly floating in the middle of the lake. Even replaced a starter once and a carb jet another time. Swapping a mangled Prop on a fixed drive takes the cake tho.

@@captainwhiplash That's quite the false equivalency there, bud. Not saying bad stuff doesn't happen on lax rivers, but this ain't no ocean. Why even leave the house if fun is too risky? Driving to your shrimp boat is more likely to kill you than what they're doing here.

Thought you 2 are missing eyelets on the front for recovery. They are generally mounted strong enough to hook up and chopper it out if you sink it, it also means no bent bars on the front and it pulls the front up a little more under tow.
Design yourself a stomp grate for your intake. Essentially a hinged grate connected to a cable inside. Clogs, pump the cable a few times, back on your way with a clear intake

I think James wife has just as much fun. She had the right idea during the towing ducking down
Maddie*
@@tamarastephenson8985 I like her.
James wife wouldn't be there if she wasn't into it. These women are ride or die.
Love your adventures brother, what i really love is, you show the ups and downs of jet boating... It's like the rivers of life, we all hit some rocks on the way down- its how we take them that counts. Thanks for not editing the trials out... It makes the joys all the better. Stay safe brother.🤗🇺🇸love dem Eagles🦅🦅
This is what people live for, boys. This is freedom. You'll have that on these big jobs.
Ok now I've seen it all, a "Giraffe In The Mist", waving to an Eagle.
TN does have bald eagles on the rivers and amazing to see in person. Beautiful area and thankful to call home. Amazing content
They are so small tho
@@AceFoxxii Seen some pretty sizeable Bald eagles down the stretch hes talking about, from reliance to the lower ocoee. I frequently kayak the spot. beautiful area
Broken drive shaft. You'll get that on these big jobs.
I'm late to the party, but damn!... Cleetus is approaching "Whistlin Diesel" levels of endurance and structural integrity testing
Just made it to the end.... if you need a winch to get your boat, not jeep or 4x4, unstuck....
Ocoee and Hiwassee Rivers + mating pairs of Bald Eagles - welcome to one my favorite parts of the planet, Cleetus! Great videos documenting a great adventure. Happy Memorial Day, Brother - in memory of many, in tribute to all whose sacrifice make the Freedom Factory possible!!!
With the closing of the month of freedom rapidly approaching it has been great thanks Everyone.
Now let’s talk future how about
“ SUMMER OF FREEDOM “ ? 😂👍
HELL YEAH FOR SUMMER OF FREEDOM
Never thought I'd want to hear Rrrrrreeeeeeee for 10 minutes straight
💀😂 FACTS
I’m gonna have to go watch a finnegan fox videos afterwards so I can wean myself away from it 🤗
And the occasional Crunch from hitting the rocks lol
That’s so cool that Cleets spirit animal showed up for the fun
@speedypuma1 lmfao I'm dead 😂
They have giraffe in TN?
@speedypuma1 if only giraffes made bald eagle noisey
You guys are killing at the month of freedom I wanted to be the year of freedom Come on guys we're having so much fun Best month ever
I find this statement riveting and flush with deep thoughts
You need to install a towing eye on the boats further down the front of the hull like most other boats. Then if you need to tow one again you will find it much easier. Looks like such unreal fun.
Agreed, but it will need to be protected and arched over with metal so it doesn't catch on anything.
@@Dirk3672_StupidYT good point. Mabe a tube punched through the hull in the right location and welded in so its not sticking out at all would be the way to go.
That's the whole point. Don't feel the fear. It'll overtake you. Push forward. Love it y'all keep er' going
You should add Lake Powell to your list of destinations. Almost 2000 miles of coastline, lots of small tributaries and canyons. It's awesome!
Put tow hooks front and rear on both so youre not tying off to hand rails. Eventually you will bend them. Also, bottom of the boats look like the bottom of my SXS.
How are yall getting by without hull numbers displayed on the boats? Especially when you are talking to DNR...lol
Might have a number board like on an inflatable dinghy.
Because they aren't long enough to need one.
Yeah certain requirements don't need to be fulfilled unless you must meet the requirements not everybody does just because of certain stipulations like they listed already each state gets weird and the government itself whether we're talking about state or federal is just weird in general
@@Shornandkenny
Tennessee law requires that all mechanically powered vessels (including federally documented recreational vessels) and all sailboats which are principally used in Tennessee must be registered
@@michaelmcclure8673 their boats are not principally used in TN.
Can't wait to see how you and Maddie plan for your wedding if doing stuff like this is your every day life 😲
Idaho and Alaska trip??? You sure are living the good life Cleetus, don't take it for granted my brother.
What a life!! True American dream!!! Life goals!!! Kick ass as per usual Cleet!!
9:26 that dude dumping his whole shoe full of water out had me rolling 😂
Perfect timing I just lit up a joint
fuck yea

how long until they find out that people put huge v8's in those boats, rollcages and race them at small tracks...? And they have to build some.
What about Finnegan's jetboat? That's a monster!!
Seeing as how cleet is one of the only people other than finnegan to drive game over, id say hes aware. Lol its only a matter of time.
i was just thinking on the video before last when they were loading them up at the freedom factory, that they could build a jet boat track, could probably do it in that back lot where they made that dirt track, save that large area out front for something else (like a new workshop)
Drag boats are one thing, but I think OP is talking about sprint boats. Those are a different breed entirely. I used to watch those guys run in Marsing, Idaho. Crazy fun.
It gets even better - there's 1000-2000HP jet turbine powered jet boats that race up rivers doing upwards of 140MPH
Search "turbine jet boat" for the good stuff
Unsure how your setups are, but I've done some custom jet drive stuff in the past and tapped the coupler and driveshaft support bushings for grease zerks. Keeps them cool and moving freely so the splines don't strip. Also check alignment. Bring some spare fuel and tools for next time. Nice runs!
Carry some nylon line for towing. It has some elasticity to take shock. Probably 1/2 inch would be sufficient for your purposes. Also cary some Dyneema soft shackles as well
Need to put some Rain-X on the windows
Next time they go out I bet they take the race trailer with a spare everything and the SxS to get the boats in the water 😂
I mean come on, he has the stacker, I'm sure he could fit way more toys including the boats.
I was wondering the same thing.. sxs would be perfect for launching. And extra fun.. almost fit on the tooter.?
@@GaryLX870D yeah that's my thoughts. Shove everything in the stacker and then you don't have to worry about how you bring the extras. Sucks that you can't see the awesome boats though.
Might want to check the old nuts and bolts in those jet boats after this at 59 secs there is one almost loose on the left side of the windshield those teflon nuts shouldn't back off but that one is.
It looks like they took the windows out when they did the wrap. I’ll bet they reused the old nuts instead of replacing them.
Yes! Cant wait to see Idaho and Alaska. You should come
To Northern California as well. We have the Klamath American river, sac river, feather river pit river, plus a ton of lakes and it’s all clear clean water.
Cool to see ol Cleeter got to enjoy Tennessee. Alot more water up here to explore! Come back anytime!
Imagine you look out your living room window and there's cleetus mcfarland in his jet boat! 😂🙃
Definitely needed to wait for them to let the water out of the damn before hitting the Hiawassee!
Best advice my dad ever gave me boating, "any time you take the boat out carry a spare of everything, something will almost always break!"
Haha I took my boat out, had an extra distributor and everything, it literally spit the ceramic center out of one of the spark plugs. Who brings extra spark plugs for a thrashed 140 hp mercruiser?? Not me! Still ran enough to get back to the dock, just sounded awefull. 😀
@@michaellott918 nice, I’ve rebuilt carbs, changed points and stuff but never swapped a prop!
Combing Cleetus with adventure shows is your one stop shop 🤙
Pretty cool! Hope you have good high flow bilge pumps in there and foam in the hull. When you actually get in some whitewater you can take on a lot water real quick.
Honestly, Jetstream should keep sponsoring you with new hulls, welded up, as long as you want to keep promoting their brand. I know I'm interested, and had 0 previous interest.
Really, that's not much different than Cleetus blowing up Texas Speed engines. It's all publicity... and that sells products.
Legit this ! Been researching how to turn my boat into a jet drive 😂😂
This made me want to go buy a jet boat. 😂
I'm from northern idaho and I can tell you this river is a 1 or a 2 compared to the white water around here. I'm talking rocks the size of the towter sitting in the river with 6-8ft holes you gotta power out of. Going to want to get as much river reading experience as you can. Good luck an let the bald eagle scream.
the rapids in the area here are class 3 or 4 i believe (i’m from the place they were riding) they didn’t hit the real crazy stuff. most of it is up river. all of it is man made and it was made for the atlanta olympics in ‘96
I really wasn’t that interested in these little jet boats in the beginning, but now that I’ve seen them in action, I might build one
Hey that's us in the pontoon on the ocoee!! That was badass seeing y'all come through! I need to do that! You let me run that boat and I'll put you guys in a dirt late model! Cool stuff for sure. Glad we made the video cut.
As a guy that has been down Alaska rivers and grew up here my entire life you guys better bring a lot of extra stuff! It’s gets way rowdy up here 🔥
I thought i misheard him at first as that is a long way to go just for some rapids, sure he can find as good ones closer to Florida?
Some LED spotlights probably wouldn't be a bad idea either.
Ok, last comment. I've driven a lot of boats, you can tell Garrett is better than most at picking lines and reading the river. This is a serious "don't try this at home" moment, he's quite talented
Yeah Tennessee rivers dont play. Glad to see yall in my neck of the woods
I've found this information to be helpful. When you reach half tank it's time turn back around unless you have extra fuel or know where you could get some fuel.
Like how Maddie just giggles after each rock hit 🤣
This is turning to the most enjoyable "rich people" problems, i love it.
Hell yeah brother. First world problems are a MF'er but makes great content. Content is what brings in the money. Good content is what us consumers want to watch. Win for everyone. Sometimes it's painful to watch the destruction but a lot less painful than watching Whistlindiesel destroy nice things on purpose.
@@boosted95 yes, and yes. 🤔👍
I think the bald eagle was ED the Neighbor coming to say hi. Only the OG’s know R.I.P. ED 🙏
These guys know nothing but full send 😂🤦♂️
Yea and they wanna go to Idaho and Alaska. Move all the extra supplies down on the list and write their obituaries and put those at number 1 on that list. Or wait 10-15 years and maybe some common sense might be able to sprout and grow because you can bet the fields are empty desert 🐫 🌵 at this point.
@@captainwhiplash Whiplash? More like Captain Buzzkill.
I do believe I’d rather have my buzz killed versus my ass. I’ve been a shrimp boat captain for 33 years my friend and I’ve seen what playing with water can do and there’s nothing pretty about fishing your childhood best friend from the ocean and removing him from a shrimp net full of crab, fish and small sharks even if the last look on his face you saw was a big crazy fun, fun, and fun grin
@@captainwhiplash That's quite the false equivalency there, bud. Not saying bad stuff doesn't happen on lax rivers, but this ain't no ocean. Why even leave the house if fun is too risky? Driving to your shrimp boat is more likely to kill you than what they're doing here.
Cmon Cleet! @ 3:25 That woulda been the most perfect moment EVER, to freeze frame and dub in your bald eagle screech sound effect!
I only lived in Tennessee for a few years as a kid and one thing that I never forgot was the rain storms there. When is rained it poured.
Okay there's no way you can end the month of freedom without giving us at least one more week of freedom filled adventures .. Please... There's just no other channel on RUclips that compares
Don't worry brother, check last video, were getting a week extension!!!
You might want to try to figure out how to install a windshield wiper on the driver side
A coating of Rain-x should work too
@@adriane7841.. exactly .good point.

i Rain-X all my vehicles.
As a fiberglass boat owner.. I cringed every time they hit something lol. I’m amazed at how much abuse those boats will take, wow.
I can see the worrie on ur face when yall realized there was no driving the Bush boat out... glad the weather let up and yall got back safe...
