I'll be the first one to admit it made me call my mother and tell her I loved her and appreciated everything she's done for me while I was in tears.
I dont usually go a day without listening to The Hu. No exhibitionism - just deeply skilled, deeply powerful, and full to the brim with heart and power. And I love this song with Lizzy Hale - thanks for your great reaction video.
I've listened to both versions and they to me are equally the same in how powerful their lyrics. This version with Lzzy Hale makes me tear up a bit. The video of the band members as children with their mothers really accentuates the song.
You ladies are a delight to hear your input and watch.

Lzzy learned to do some of the female version of throat singing for the song and I think she did a great job especially since she only had a couple months to learn something that usually takes years of practice to do.. she is an outstanding singer and her voices mixes so well with their sound

From her Facebook post, she was free to write her own take. They did teach her how to throat sing even though she doesn’t do that in the song. She has stated she will keep practicing.
it really shows how music transcends culture and race, no matter where you come from.
Shes had years of singing well already. For me its no stretch that she could pick it up quick. Evoir from farose island does some fantastic throat singing and has a wounderful voice and presence. The whole time she sings just is outstanding.
The combination of the two lyrics is very much as you find in a play or opera of where the men admire and sing how strong she is, with her affection and attention calms him, and more. Her lyrics are her declaration of what she offers and what she is a part of, which is how she is able to support and calm the man in her life. It is complementary and beautiful.
This song brings to my heart a sense of respect, love, and pride for my mother and woman. A song like a noble and proud woman. It's so beautiful and very hard to describe my sense in word.
My mom passed on September 13th it makes 13 years, this song hits me hard but it's a fitting tribute for the most badass woman I ever knew

The HU Band is utter perfection.
From this song, you probably understand how important a woman is in Mongolian nomadic culture. And we have a lot of stories and myths about queens and mothers.
We had a lot of respect for women and high attention to their education. Because the Mongolian warrior did not know when he would go to war and how long he would live. Therefore, Mongolian warriors are mainly raised and educated by women. One of them is the great Genghis Khan. His father died when he was nine years old. From then on, the family was headed by his mother Houlun /Өүлүн эх/ who went through a difficult times, poverty and hunger. However, she never forgot to raise her son as a king.
As an individual, Genghis khan grew up to be a very wise man who respected his mother and wife very much.
This version gives you so many goosebumps from start to finish... just perfect and beautiful!

I’m in the back corner of an old ranch. Lzzy touches and looks at and just blends right in with the guys like a lover, mother, sister, daughter.
This version of the song was dropped for Mother's Day this year, which is why the pictures of the band's mothers were included. But I agree, it's more than just a love song to mothers. It's a love song to sisters, daughters, and women everywhere.
EDIT: Lzzy's band Halestorm is a gigantic source for reaction material. She's been called the new Joan Jett, which is a bold claim, and I stand by it completely.

Lzzy Hale is a goddess, not really a woman. If you have never seen her live, she will bring anyone to their knees when you hear her. If music ever appreciated what a top notch talent could do on a guitar or set of drums, it should worship Lzzy. God she is amazing. And The Hu are just stunningly gorgeous in their own right. Put these things together?!?! Thank you for letting me live during these days!

I would highly...HIGHLY...recommend diving down either the Halestorm rabbit hole, or even just the Lzzy Hale collaboration rabbit hole. Either one are worth the trip. Just to name a few artists that Lzzy has collaborated with. Lita Ford, David Draiman (From Disturbed), Myles Kennedy (from Alter Bridge), MGK, Shinedown, Amy Lee, Lindsey Stirling, and many more. Just put all those names up and throw a dart, you'll land on some great music.

Their name “Hu” means both Human which is Hun in Mongolian and also means Hunnu which is the first Mongolian empire (actually a first empire on the Euro Asian land). There is no point in arguing 😄
It can also be taken to mean our people, humanity, the people, or as Jacoby of papa roach used brethren. In german it could probably be Volk. The usage makes more sense in Wolf Totem.
