No mention of the Elektron Analog Rytm???? What the what? The Syntakt is in the list and it's... fine. But the AR Mk2 is the flagship and, IMO, the best drum machine out right now. It was just upgraded yet again with euclidean mode, scale pads, and yet more synth models (now 33 in total!), plus it's a sampler. Come on Reverb!
The IK Multimedia Uno Drum Machine is the one i own , to me the simplicity layout friendly use is just a concept that no other brand have . The concept is just perfect and really would love to see IK Multimedia bringing back the Uno new version . The only complaining about the Uno is the noise when using the usb port to power up 😔 other than that is just the most perfect intuitive drum machine
@distantcomets maybe because it's cheaper, but I figured the 1.7 update would've landed it on this list. The Syntakt is more groovebox than drum machine
I've owned all of these this year on my hunt for what suited my ear...was astounded at the richness and inspiration I found in the Razzamataz. It actually buried the Perkons in the end! What a time for electronic drummage :)
Guitar here, drum machine noob. Does anyone know if you can use a midi drum machine with a footswitch to toggle between verse and chorus for live gigs? The only thing I've found that can do that is the Beatbuddy, but it's pricey.
I'm surprised there wasn't a mention of the Novation Circuit Rhythm. It's a great sampler that you can get all sorts of sound design and rhythmic possibilities from. I even use it to mono sequence other instruments in my chain.
The video was about pure drum machines, not samplers. If you include the Novation Rhythm, then you might as well include all the MPC's, Maschine+, Roland SP 404 MK2, Ableton Push standalone, Elektron's own Digitakt and Octotrackt, Akai Push etc.
The Korg Drumlogue, really? It is one of the most basic drums machines and such a big disappointment. So bad no one wanted to buy it so they slashed the price to clear out stock that wasn’t moving and now they’ve discontinued it after they barely released it. How the Elektron Analog Rytm didn’t make this list? Wut the heck is this lol
@@Newmachinemusic good correction. Syntakt has a SONG MODE which chains up to 99 rows in sequence, with optional row repeats and row name ("verse", etc) , and where any row can be up to 1024 beat steps. It allows storing up to 16 songs. So by paying nearly $1,000 this rudimentary ability is possible. So my revised statement. Yet nearly all of them can't arrange beat sequences into multiple song sections to play a complete song.

That price increase tho
Totally - some of those drum machines were complete garbage imho
It sucks
TR8-S is the best
@@Alckemy fair!
You have 808 k subscribers. You missed a trick there! :)
Yeah they need to stop any further subscriptions now. They’ve hit the only milestone that matters 808 🙌
@@wakinglife7065 next milestone : 909K 😄
easy, he wait till 909 k subs ;-)
I love my UNO Drum! I wish they'd make a pro version of it.

I love my syntakt. It does a lot of things and sounds really good.
why does the title card read Digitakt though?!?!
@@jujuondabeatbroski and why the Syntakt instead of the Analog Rytm? (Elektron makes three equally brilliant overlapping drum machines...)
@distantcomets maybe because it's cheaper, but I figured the 1.7 update would've landed it on this list. The Syntakt is more groovebox than drum machine
For Guitarists the "Beat Buddy" is a very cool Drum Machine pedal once you get the hang of it

Thank you for putting price on it. Saved tons of time
TR8s Sounds BOLD-and Full compared to the others
the title card for the Syntakt reads Digitakt.
Ooooops. Good catch. Definitely meant it to say Syntakt. We have one of each and use them interchangeably, so we got confused ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Jomox Alpha Base 😎
ditto, still my favorite and holds up today
The amount of shade thrown at Jomox tho.....😒
@@mindexpansionpuzzles Really? Why?
@@harveytherobot I couldn't tell you but it seems like Jomox gets snubbed by a lot of people.
Elektron Analog RYTM MK2 is one of the best.
No mention of thevGotharman Spazedrum????
Finally got me an Alesis SR16 this year. I'm old school.
lol I bought a SR18 few months ago. It’s cool!
I sample a lot of sounds from Alesis sr18 (slightly older brother) sounds amazing.
Your shirt rules!
These are the best drums machines, that don't sound like drums.
awesome video!! y'all got one for synths' too??
Awesome list but it is incomplete without MPC. :)
Are there standalone drum machines that sound like real analogue drums??
No love for the Gotharmans SpazeDrum? It does all my heavy lifting. 4 analog outs means I have most rhythm covered…
For live use the Alesis SR-18 is the best for me. Old but still going strong 😊
Any Roland drum machine with acb tech is the best
I love that everyone sleeps on the vermona drm1
Analog rhythm Mk2 / TR8-S and Perkons are the winner
Is that Ras G on the shirt?
Looks like it.
No Nord drum??
Roland TR-8S....KING! I also have an Elektron Machinedrum SPS-1UW+ MKII. Bad ass.

Fess, where my Tempest at bro? When I see you, we fightin 😁
damn man!! these drum machines make my 808 look like a doorbell....
OHHH RASSSSSSS!
MPC One?
MPC is a sampler, not a drum machine.
Does anyone use the Syntakt as a drum machine?
yes. it has a lot of the rytm engines and more. no sampling though
Your voice reminds me of Guru.

Consider this video a reverb "bump"
TR8S is the best
Oh Ras!
No arturias 💀
vlad of SOMA
"Best" being a matter of um, taste, I er, guess....
NO ALPHA BASE ???????????????
it's gonna be funny watching this video 20 years from now when this technology is outdated and archaic...that is always entertaining
A lot of things now will be outdated in 20 years
Lol...this a list with the most bought and SOLD drum machines.
😎✌🏿
No I'm looking for a drum machine that sounds like a real drummer, not a robot that's just arrived from Mars, if you please.
Yet none of them can arrange beat sequences into multiple song sections to play a complete song.
