WOW! Two mentions in one video? Cannot thank enough @SynthDad and @DivKid for choosing a Befaco module as their year pick. And thanks a million @BoBeats for having such nice friends :3
Thank you Bo' and guests. I wish you all having merry christmas and more.. Bodysynth is crazy. SuperGemini Huge! Arturia, France forever! (from Normandie)
Yessss! Been waiting for this. I just started with synths and DAWless this year after like a decade+ of FL Studio and other styles of physical instruments. This channel has def helped me find good buys and find my sound so far. Thanks Bo. Can't wait to see what the picks are here.
Bo, Great letting Miles carry the Oberheim flag up to the podium for best synth of the year. Make sure to bring him back if Korg ever releases a Prologue II.
@mbessey ha! i dont even know why I mentioned it. i think it's cuz I saw the Hapax and OxiOne and got defensive of my Deluge.. and then immediate GAS 😅 edit: oh yeah, it's cuz the best update of the year! The 404 update was pretty hefty, but I think the Deluge Bethoven community open source update deserves a mention
I really agree that the Korg Muti/poly is the the right choice - lots of synth for little money! And there is getting more and more of them - real good and affordable synths. When I was a young synth player at the end of the 1970s and beginning oft the 80s, good synths cost a fortune! For example was the price for a Memorymoog in 1983 (here in Sweden) around 180 000 crowns in today's currency value. And a Prophet 5, around 140 000 swedish crowns.
Even when I was a kid, 1995 sometime, synths were crazy expensive. Got a rm1x 1999 and it was alot of money and frankly didnt sound great even at the time
Hey Bo, here are some of my recommendations of RUclipsrs for the next year: Ricky Tinez (of course) loopop Jameson Nathan Jones David Hilowitz Music Tim Shoebridge Emily Hopkins (Mrs. »Harp with Pedals«) Polarity Music (Mr. »Bitwig Studio«) and of course Alex Uhm, no, sorry about the last one ... he's a french cook! ;)
Lots of fun and great recommendations/awards. Santa please give me MORE money, I need to buy some synths. Sanjay went to far in asking for a specific synth, I need them ALL.
Best Hardware Update - still I think updates for Deluge are unbeatable (also in this year) Bets Groovebox - Dirtwave M8 model 2? Hmmmmm… it is great devise but in this case Arturia Polybrute 12 is the best Flagship Synth Of The Year. I would rather say Yamaha Seqtrak or Ableton Move should win this category. Best Synth Under €1000 - absolutely agree! MonoPoly disqualified the competition! Flagship Synth Of The Year - I would rather say Arturia Polybrute 12
36:00 While interesting the Oberheim TEO-5 is not a flagship synth, and it's hardly as outstanding as the polybrute12 which is a worthy successor to the CS80.

even the synth selection has become "political" - no Behringer? Dreadbox over Pro-800? lol. Also best groovebox m8 2? tracker? It's hard for me to believe that a lot of you guys are "objective", won't go into reasons why. When you check top-seller lists of synths and grooveboxes and compare it with this "best list", it seems that we are all idiots!

Well deserved. Love my MF!
@BodySynths, omg what a wonderful device you have created. Will definitely order one soon
Next year we'll have something EVEN COOLER from Simon's bathroom! Mark my words!
You mean MY bathroom. He is still in there, cooking
"dear synthaclause"...i love this too much lmao
I'm a simple guy. I got a PolyBrute 12, So the PolyBrute 12 wins.
Personally, I feel that nothing has eclipsed the Walforf Iridium/Quantum in synthesis. There is simply nothing that can touch in producing new sounds.
Fantastic synth!
This is better than my spotify wrap up

Great stuff as always Bo!
And special thanks to @jorb for carrying on the Bob Eats tradition.

Yayyyyy Freebeat made it this year! Was looking forward to see him on your channel this year. Another great recap on the year.

I still need to update to the OLED screen on my Deluge...
but I use it too much to go without it for too long.

Still curious about the S4 but heard it needs some firmware updates to really get it to where it should be. Thoughts?
