I really hate how well they did Minthara's voice acting and interactions; without giving her character a full complete (non-broken) companion playthrough.
I really do love how she is the epitome of lawful evil. Yes, she has a different kind of moral standards than your average player due to the culture she grew up in, but she does have them. She does not do stupid shit just for the sake of being evil, she is pragmatic and does and suggests what she thinks is the best course of action, entirely seriously. It´s a kind of depth many evil characters in fiction lack.
at the very least evil at the start, and set the grove on fire, metaphoricly.. then after you save best girl you can (somwehat) get back on track. though i'd kinda enjoy a party of menthara, shadowheard (dark route) and astarion being generally evil in act 2-3. lets you experience the other side of the game and kudos to lariant for actually alllowing us to go down that road. to many games push you to hard to just be the good hero that might be morally questionable sometimes. but in the end you'll still save the world. so. again, good job to lariant for letting us explore this side aswell.
@@Acranify That evil playthrough is what I just went through. Lawful Evil party of Dark Urge, Shadowheart (Path of Shar), Astarion (Ascendant Vampire), and Drow Dommy Mommy. Quite a bit of fun, tbh, and a great change of pace from a good playthrough.
Now I'm really tempted to do a an evil run Dark Urge run with Minthara. Only done good Tav and slightly evil Dark Urge run so maybe I'll actually do another playthrough. This game really wants you to play again and again.
yeah she's a perfect evil companion. Evil Shadowheart also matches evil Durge pretty well. Astarion on the other hand only makes sense if you don't romance him / break up, he's either too sweet or too disrespectful
"And if they work hard enough for long enough, the city might allow them to earn their freedom one day." Y'all remember when she admitted she tells blatant lies when someone's empathy makes her uncomfortable?
You have a point here, but her entire character arc is about freedom. She's fine with the concept of mortal slavery because that is something that CAN be fought against. Slavery to gods/demons/planar entities though, she's all about protecting the Greater Good. She's pragmatic too - employed men work harder than slaves do and using an indentured servitude system rather than out and out slavery is a good compromise from her POV. Especially if they're shorter-lived mortals that will value short-term goals over her longer-lived ones. I love her but I gotta get at least like a Lawful Neutral ending with her or something before I'm willing to romance her. She reminds me a great deal of one of my own characters, where the cold facade hides hot-blooded passion. In my character's case, she starts Lawful Evil as a child, but moves more towards Lawful Neutral as her final development. She ascends to be come a Goddess of Death, but employs Empathy at every step. "If I am to decide who is to die, then I will experience it with them as penance." Dunno if Minth could ever develop to that point of keeping the hyper violence but changing the motives behind their usage, but I can fanfic it.
Bro if there’s gonna be a DLC for this already near perfect game, it’s gotta be a personal questline for Minthara! Hell, make her an origin character as well! I’d pay good money!
Look anyone in the comments says that u have to sacrifice other companions or karlach for example but it’s wrong. U can get minthara without killing anyone.just never go to goblin camp and when u see general thorm she is over there begging for mercy and u can free her from the cell under ground of the moonrise tower. Thats how i got her with karlach in my team
The Tieflings dies that way though. So you cant finish Karlachs quest or get some of the best armor in the game from Dammon. Armor that is BiS on Minthara, which is the real irony.
The other companions are just your employees who do what you say at the end of the day most of the time. Minthara is the CEO that staged a hostile takeover.
Minthara is the most funniest. When I'm on the Shadow Curse Quest, Minthara encourage Shadowheart to kill Aasimar in order to become Dark Justiciar in Shadowfell, after I convince her to not do it and get out. Minthara was like "Yea, I know from the start that killing Aasimar is bad".
Since i decided to breach and clear goblin fortress this lady fell victim to my pesky back stabs and i figured out that she's a potential companion just by set of clothes that was on her corpse. Her fault for being among enemy combatants though.
3:44 Later in the conversation tree, she can wax on about her mother saving her significantly 'special' and 'great' life, the mix of blood and milk as an assassin's dagger barely missed her mother's heart and how she, when attaining independence, gave her mother a matching scar on the other side of her chest 🤣🤣🤣 These are the romantic muses of Minthara. She is such a batty treasure!
Everyone in this game sounds absolutely sick with a cockney accent, so anytime I play, I picture my toon speaking with one as well. During my playthrough, when Minthara made that comment about letting refugees in the city, I was like "Yew fokken roof'less slag, ya need slaves, innit?" and she LITERALLY SAID THE NEXT LINE that she ain't doing shit for charity, the city needs laborers, and maybe one day the laborers can earn their freedom. LMAO all ratings and game awards outlets will be razed to the ground if this doesn't win GOTY.
At Arfur's house, in my playthrough I was given to option to reply that we had just killed an avatar of Myrkul. And the guildswoman was like, well ok then, let's pretend this never happened. And left. It was both hilarious and very satisfying. EDIT: I forget the exact dialogue, but that was the gist of it.
It was worth doing an evil playthrough just to get to recruit Minthara. Even if we had to kill and slaughter so many friendly faces, break up with Ascended Astarion because he went "become my spawn or bust", and pretty soon we'll be finishing Shart's journey of being a Dark Justiciar. Will definitely do more evil runs in the future where we'll be more "I'm being evil because I'm keeping up appearances" or "I was evil but my experiences have changed me"
shart oh god that killed me whats she like as a justiciar? romanced her first run but dropped the game shortly into act 3, now cant run the game without it getting stuck on main menu.
I am seriously stumped. I did EVERYTHING ingame that pointed to a 'route' with her but its like you cant be 'official' with her like you can with the other companions.
Larian has stated she's bugged. I think even if they fix her she's still probably missing a ton of content that may be in the definitive if it ever even does get added to the game.

Her sad puppy eyes make her irresistible
I am so PISSED I have to be an evil asshole to enjoy this absolutely incredible character
at the very least evil at the start, and set the grove on fire, metaphoricly.. then after you save best girl you can (somwehat) get back on track. though i'd kinda enjoy a party of menthara, shadowheard (dark route) and astarion being generally evil in act 2-3. lets you experience the other side of the game and kudos to lariant for actually alllowing us to go down that road. to many games push you to hard to just be the good hero that might be morally questionable sometimes. but in the end you'll still save the world. so. again, good job to lariant for letting us explore this side aswell.
LMAO my favorite is the look on the MC's face at 1:17 when she says she'll break her neck
I romanced and kept Minthara to the endgame. She’s a damage b e a s t and gets good deals with merchants
A dark elf with the voice of an Adeptus Sororita, I really regret pushing her off a cliff my first playthrough.
Minthara: "Does the dog think it can intimidate us? If it continues to bark, I will snap its neck."
Dark Urge: "OoooOOOOoooh!" xD
"If it continues to bark i will snap it's neck."
Tav: POG
lmao the PCs reaction to what Mintharar said at 1:20 was hilarious
She's supposed to be characteristically evil with a capital E, but post absolute mind control a lot of the stuff she says is really sensible.
She is the daughter of one of the high houses in Menzobarranzaan. She was born to lead.
100% Best Girl without a doubt.
"And if they work hard enough for long enough, the city might allow them to earn their freedom one day."
Y'all remember when she admitted she tells blatant lies when someone's empathy makes her uncomfortable?
1:22 the dragonborn literally pogged 😂
Bro if there’s gonna be a DLC for this already near perfect game, it’s gotta be a personal questline for Minthara! Hell, make her an origin character as well! I’d pay good money!
Minthara always makes things more interesting, and she is a constant source of deadpan comedy. Best mid-game companion!
First 30 seconds. had me like hey Minthara aint that bad.,
"Then maybe they can earn their freedom." Hold up
0:15 minthara solving illegal immigration crisis in five seconds
From immigration to slavery
As a player who favors going chaos or evil routes in campaigns, I love her.
1:15 The dragonborn's "oh no she didn't!" face got me.
Minthara is so freaking cool. She needs so much more.
1:20 Durge's face 🤣
i am so glad that in my first playthrough as Dark Urge i had minthara as closest ally and lover, it fit so well. Minthara best girl
1:47 Astarions face😂😂😂😂 I CAN'T
The stupid lil face after hearing mintharas remark at 1:24 always makes me giggle
Minthara is that girl that would gladly help you hide the bodies.....
Or put them on a pike in the front yard as a warning
Damn, I just gotta comment, that thumbnail looks like it's a real person, kudos to both Larian art team and you for catching a expression.
This is definitively the hottest Juggalo romance scene from BG3 that is circulating.
Man i love minthara i had her doing so much damagae with a greatsword and all her smites !!
I was not ready for clown Minthara.
She does get me feelin' a certain kind of way
Minthara is the most funniest.
I like the way Tav reacts at 1:22 based on what minthara said.
Minty appreciation is appreciated ❤🎉
3:44 Later in the conversation tree, she can wax on about her mother saving her significantly 'special' and 'great' life, the mix of blood and milk as an assassin's dagger barely missed her mother's heart and how she, when attaining independence, gave her mother a matching scar on the other side of her chest 🤣🤣🤣 These are the romantic muses of Minthara. She is such a batty treasure!
I so wish I could play as minthara
She also likes your Slayer form😊
having the ending schene with clown makeup and blood is wild lol
Everyone in this game sounds absolutely sick with a cockney accent, so anytime I play, I picture my toon speaking with one as well. During my playthrough, when Minthara made that comment about letting refugees in the city, I was like "Yew fokken roof'less slag, ya need slaves, innit?" and she LITERALLY SAID THE NEXT LINE that she ain't doing shit for charity, the city needs laborers, and maybe one day the laborers can earn their freedom. LMAO all ratings and game awards outlets will be razed to the ground if this doesn't win GOTY.
With that clown paint on her, she is, indeed, a servant of Lols, I am not going to lie XD XD XD
To hell with Lolth! I establish the church of Lols
She senses your deepest thoughts. "Who is this Mommy of whom you devote so much of your mind? And what exactly is "pegging"?"
“Why do we not let them into the city?”
Wow how progressive of you minthara
“We should make them slaves instead”
I love her so much🥵
other people "i want to fix her"
me "i want to join her"
plus i love me a woman with good communication skills
@1:23 the dragonborn was too stunned to speak
I'll never understand how ppl can roleplay as this hideous dinosaur turtle thing.
1:23 LMAO HIS FACE
If you use the clown makeup twice on the same day it doesn’t go away after a long rest. :)
I appreciate how BASED Minthara is...
Minthara made me want to see all of Menzoberranzan.
Will definitely do more evil runs in the future where we'll be more "I'm being evil because I'm keeping up appearances" or "I was evil but my experiences have changed me"
shart oh god that killed me
whats she like as a justiciar? romanced her first run but dropped the game shortly into act 3, now cant run the game without it getting stuck on main menu.
Evil woman save me
Evil woman
Save me evil woman
I am seriously stumped. I did EVERYTHING ingame that pointed to a 'route' with her but its like you cant be 'official' with her like you can with the other companions.
Larian has stated she's bugged. I think even if they fix her she's still probably missing a ton of content that may be in the definitive if it ever even does get added to the game.
Dangit Minty, cant you see me and Laser got an egg to raise?!
It kinda hurts rejecting her, oh well next playthrough.
