Both of my pups rested in the tall grass for a while, and only then was Cloud, who was at 10% of health, got better
Meybe there is a certain procent of health where a pup has a good chance of survival.
I think when was i watched jayplays play wolf quest, she mentioned the dark pelted wolves have less chance of being sick and better chance of healing more than the lighter colours

I really loved this endcard and the association with marigolds and the fragility of life. It was a beautiful blend of botany and poetry, and a fitting elegy to a lost pup. As for the pups - poor Calypso. In some ways she had it the hardest, watching both her sisters slip away and wondering if they would be lost like her other two sisters. Parsley definitely will have some survivor's guilt as well. It's worth mentioning that parsley plants do flower. They lack the striking beauty of marigolds or bluebells, but they flower all the same.
I feel like that does kinda sum up the situatoin
R.I.P. Marigold. She was a good little pup who always wanted to stay near her parents. She was pretty much a carbon-copy of Meadow and definetly wanted to be just like her. Hopefully she will have a good time in heaven with Daisy and Bluebell. R.I.P. Marigold, a good pup.

Unfortunately spending time with the pups does help, but it's not a guarantee. They could still very well die even if you never leave their side, so you did nothing wrong. Sadly in this case you were super unlucky.

It’s so sad Marigold passed. She was so close with her two wonderful parents. All I can think of is at least she died doing the thing she loved the most. Being with her parents.
At least you lost "just one of them" - there'd been no chance of recovery. It's sad but I'm glad you're still at 4 pups and didn't loose both.
NO. Have you watched the episodes before? Seri had seven puppies in this litter. The two other pups were named Daisy and Bluebell. Daisy got killed by coyotes and Bluebell by stranger wolves

Just got wolf quest, named my wolf after her. We will all miss her.
If Parsley takes control of the pack, we can say she wanted to honor her sister’s life in anyway she can. I think because she’s been the strongest since she can remember she’d feel some sort of sense of responsibility over her siblings and she’d get stronger for Marigold even though Marigold walks a different path.
I noticed through my packs when the pups get sick and you spend time with them it slows the sickness down just enough that they might beat it and get better. Sometimes the sickness is harsher for some it seems to be random. Hopefully this helps for the future!
Poor Marigold, she was so sweet and she held on for as long as she could, I know that pain, 2 years back my dog, Bailey, past away, but he held on for as long as he could while we were driving to the vet, Marigold didn’t deserve to die in such a cruel, slow, and painful way, R.I.P Marigold, The sweetest of them all.
To lighten the mood here's a story: I started a new pack recently and had 6 pups i named one of them Brutus because he was BIG found out it was a she at 9 pounds.... oops
I did the opposite and named a male pup lavender lmao I didn't even notice until I was looking at their adult stats lol 😆

Marigold was my favorite of the pups, I can't believe she passed on because of the sickness. I feel so bad for Parsley too, she probably feels pretty guilty about passing the sickness to Marigold...
The field note at the end was such a sweet way to remember Marigold, and honestly she was my favorite alongside Achellies. I’m so glad Parsley recovered though!
Yay Parsley! Sorry Marigold you were a good pup... It's no the grass Seri it's because Parsley is black so she is more healthier. ( being black means she has better genes but if a pup is too dark they are more likely to get sick.) I can look at my comment is the last video for more of a detailed understanding.
Yes. Parsley most likely has one gray coat gene and one black coat gene, which is the healthiest combination. Two black coat genes are more unhealthy along with two gray coat genes, which is what Marigold had.
That only works if both your wolf and your mate are black wolves. Meadow is a Grey.
When Marigold was at 3% health, Achilles actually layed down with her and it just broke my heart. I think he knew he had to say Goodbye.

I remember that when Bluebell died Marigold came out and stood at her her sister's body and howled. If Calypso dies I'ma cry, she's my favorite right after Marigold I want Calypso to be the new heir to the moon pack, everyone seems to ignore her.
Ok ok I’m being brutally honest, I started sobbing when Meadow slept by Marigold to spend the last few moments with her. I felt Meadows emotions during that, the moon packs Ancestors knew that Marigold would die to the sickness and I believe they took Marigold in there arms as soon as her spirit moved on to heaven.
I’m sorry for the loss of Marigold. She didn’t deserve to die from a sickness but at least she died peacefully in her sleep.
I always thought Arrow would be a good leader to continue the legacy but Parsley has been through a lot to see her sister die and to see her mom sad.

Rest In Peace Marigold. I’m sorry Seri. Unfortunately, spending time can help, but it’s not a guarantee. The regurgitation method I’ve heard of but I’m pretty sure that only works on REAL LIFE wolf pups (please correct me if I’m wrong). At least Marigold is with her siblings now :)

I was really surprised last episode when Marigold went down farther then Parsley, even though Parsley was sick first. It’s very unfortunate how Marigold died. It wasn’t your fault Seri, there’s no guarantee when you spend time with them. It just helps boost the chances.

Spending time with the pups when they are sick is kind of like a coin toss, especially when the pup has a gray coat rather than a black coat, that's the reason why Parsley who had the immunity gene recovered but Marigold didn't.
I feel like the deaths of the three pups this litter could be represented by three wilted flowers, considering they were all named after said flowers.
Poor Marigold, I was really hoping she would make it, she will always be remembered. Be happy in heaven young Marigold, stay strong.

I want Achilles to take over the pack. As he is the runt, being so much smaller than the rest. So I would think that he would want to prove himself to his litter that he is capable of surviving on his own.
It looks like Marigold had "the bad genes" as I say, I've had sick pups before and its definitely worrying and scary.
There apparently is a random element to recovering from sickness. So even if you do everything right the pup may still pass away.

Seri, to increase your pups chance to survive an illness you have to mark all your territory hexes to 100%, then bring lots of food to your pups and only then spend time with your sick pup
If you pick up sick pups, it counts as spending time with them. I carry sick pups with me when I pee on scent posts to speed things up while still enforcing my hexes

Sadly seri, some pups are just too weak to recover. Even the notice about sick pups says that spending time MAY help, not that it will. Unfortunately Marigold just wasn't strong enough.
as i said, marigolds chance of living was sadly almost impossible. seri is on challenging or accurate, meaning if a pup with a gray coat gets sick, theyre chance of survival is like 15% :( for black pups, its like 40%. marigold, daisy and bluebell will
be happy and resting with their ancestors, R.I.P marigold, succumbed to disease.
parsley is a survivor tho. just because of that, she deserves to be the heir.

From my experience and from what the devs told us, the only thing that makes a difference (a bit!) when puppies are sick is feeding them and interacting with them. But there are no guarantees and there are no set limits in place how much you have to stay near them. It's simply random. All of the other "methods" people keep talking about are/were just lucky coincidences and rumors. :/

Please continue as Parsley, she’d be a strong leader very feisty and she lived through so much on the edge of death from a dangerous disease. If you do choose Parsley you should name one of her daughters Marigold in honor of her sister who fell to the illness Parsley was able to recover from. It’s almost as if Marigold gave her life to save Parsley.

You honestly did everything you could...and all the advice you got sounded good to me....i definitely fed my sick pups only regurgitated food though...RIP Marigold! Marigold no! Marigold was my favourite pup, she always stuck by Meadow and truly looked up to her. She was playful and full of life, like a bright blossoming flower. But I'm afraid that things like this happen, I know Parsley will definitely miss her the most out of all the pups. As Meadow looked up at the moon that night, she saw a new bright star, which was Marigold playing among the stars with her ancestors ❤

At this point I think one of the remaining females should definitely be the heir. Arrow seems strong and quick but I also feel like he would be bold enough to try to catch a moose calf or something, possibly getting himself killed. Achilles is the runt and weak, but I also feel like he's the least smart, or so cautious that he never knows what to do.
Meanwhile, Parsley is the biggest and strongest, as well as smart. She's bold and willing to try things but also knows when she shouldn't do something. She also has a backstory of getting Marigold sick then surviving and feeling pressured by the guilt when her sister passed (r.i.p Marigold, she would've been a great heir), and I feel like she would be very attached and protective of her pups because of it. Calypso is second in size to Parsley and seems to have a lot of the traits of her sister - boldness, smarts, and strength, with the added bonus of coat color. As mentioned in the very beginning of the pup update, some coat colors may be risky to mate with other certain coat colors because of less pups or less healthy pups. Brown is one of the most common, and I think they can really mate with any other wolf, which would get rid of any worries about coat color and more focus on their inbreeding possibility. Calypso and Achilles are the only surviving brown pups and since Achilles may not be the best choice, despite being a favorite of many, Calypso would be a good one as well.
Still, Parsley is my favorite and should definitely be the heir if it's not Calypso.

I think it's actually pre determined whether a pup dies of sickness or not, cause the info says that spending time with them can improve odds, but not guarantee it, so there's probably a system that determines how long a pup is sick, and sometimes that time is longer than can be helped with spending time with them :(

ToT I loved Marigold, she was so cute. She loved her parents so much that when Meadow and Genesis left, she must be extremely worried. Maybe that’s how she got sick, getting too worried or stressed. UmU I just wish she could have survived with Parsley I mean, they were the best of sisters.

Parsley waited until Meadow and Genesis ran off to find them food before sneaking out of the grasses where her siblings slept. Weaving her way past the twigs and stones, she followed her fathers scent trail to where he took Marigold. When she finally arrived at where the trail ended and weaved back around, her paws were aching but her determination overpowered the uncomfortable cramps. Untangling the grasses, she discovered a tunnel. Her paws took her through, and she found the crumbling roof above her open up to a bright orange sky. Pushing through the thick bundles of yellow and orange flowers, Parsley spotted a beautiful adult white wolf with grey dappling her coat. The wolf was chasing two other wolves, tumbling around with them happily in the wilting flowers. Suddenly, Parsley felt teeth dig into her spine, and she tasted the smell of a wolf, the scent reminding her of elk. With a yelp of both pain and panic, she opened her eyes.
“Parsley! Are you awake now?”
Parsley was lying in the tall grass, Calypso nudging her side. Genesis was gazing down at her thoughtfully.
“Bad dream?” Her father asked.
Parsley stared into space.
“Yeah.”
Parsley slept by her sister, Marigold, who was very sick. She knew that most of her littermates had given up hope, but she had recovered from this terrible illness, and mom believed that she could get better, and mom was always right, right? Parsley sat beside Marigold her breathing getting slower and calmer. That had to be a good sign! Now she could barely hear it! Wait. NO! She couldn't hear it! Parsley ran up to her sleeping mother, and yelped. Meadow woke up, confused. Then she understood. She ran up to Marigold's body and gave a howl of despair. Parsley vowed that she would never let any of her pups die of sickness.
Did you like it? I thought I was good at writing, but the opposite is a fact. RIP Marigold.
Tip: Black pelted wolfs are the safest for pups safety, They get less sick and they heal faster if they do get sick! R.I.P Marigold she was adorable and she tried her best to stay alive. She just couldn't overcome the sickness....Meadow also tried her best and so did Genesis.

It's so sad that marigold died, but at least she's with her siblings now. In the moments before she died she was so slow and quiet, but her last breaths were spent surrounded by her family. I like to think that all pups that die stick with their siblings for a while. Maybe that's why the stranger attack only lasted for a moment. But now the other pups have a better chance, because now that nobody's sick the territory can be stronger and the pups safer
