Hi Lexi, the #2 meteorites is different from the one before, like the holiday one. Instead of a lot of beige, there now are a lot of cool white pearls, which is probably why they call it ‘cool’. My point is that #2 is going to be what you like and it’s not what you’re showing in the video.
Is the shade 2 from this limited edition different than the green box from this Christmas? I have the green box ones, which are rather golden and I love em, but these are more rosy or the same as the new version of the permanent line as well?
@@topsi91 Two things: I believe this latest edition in the pretty pinkish box is permanent and replaces the reformulated ones from before (which I don't have). The difference between the latest edition and the green holiday edition is that this new one has a lot of cool white balls in it in addition to the creamy white ones that are the only white balls in the holiday edition (at least in mine). It definitely is cooler than the holiday one, which is probably why they now call it "cool" instead of "light". Hth.

@@topsi91 I agree and unfortunately the #3 shade, called "warm" looks to be a lot deeper than the Holiday one. Fortunately I like having the cooler change, though I have no problem with the one without the cool white balls. I prefer the old scent, but don't mind the new one. What I really hate in products is that new iterations that are meant to be "cleaner" really kill shelf life! I think Dior is down to 6 months with their eye shadows. Who finishes their products in that little time?
Hi Lexi, I feel rather badly for you that you went all in with the meterorites knowing your excitement about them, the collection and the brand, only to discover they changed the scent to a musky sandalwood from the original violet. The packaging is absolutely riveting but I can appreciate that when you purchase something based on past experience, it's quite the surprise and letdown when they change something iconic that never needed to be changed. How do you do the gorgeous throwback packaging but get rid of the iconic scent!?! How does pearly white compare to pearl glow from spring 2021 that came out with pink glow? I love this tin so much, maybe I’ll buy the tin and put the pearl glow meteorites instead. This is so stupidly sad 😭
I love the pearl glow meteorites and it is my most used shade of meteorites. Those are a bit more pink and have a rosiness to them while these are truly white. The pearl glow is still my favorite.
I was just thinking this too put the older formula in the new packaging. I unknowingly sent back the beautiful violet scented older ones in exchange for the colorful packaging 😱🫠😅
O how nice of them SHRINKFLATION on top of changing our beloved formula ( smell) The pallet actually looks pretty on u not my first choice of colors but looks pretty but idk why they aren't doing the other formula that's sad. O I also don't know why they didn't do special packaging for the quad being a summer collection like the jean quad.

Hi Lexi. I bought the new Meteorites and at first had trouble figuring out the familiar scent. Then I remembered. It’s based on Guerlain’s Samsara! A softer version of it. It also has violet in it but not really violet forward. While I like the scent and have worn it many years ago, I really miss the original simple violet scent.
Ooh I couldn't wait for this review👏👏👏😍 I was hoping that #4 would work for blush. So excited😁 The eyeshadow I am really drawn to even though I know I hv those colors. I hv Wild Nude and really love that formula. The colors on the Meteorites tin are just beautiful❤

I’m so upset the changed the scent. Don’t we have an overload of sandalwood and vanilla product scents. Ugh! The original scent was so unique and one of the only makeup scents that was intoxicating. Now they are just a standard perfume all over your face. Why???? Ugh!!
I purchased #3 to use as a light bronzer for Spring. I’m still on the fence about whether I’m going to keep mine. The price is very expensive imo & the fact that they decreased the amount of product makes me mad.

Excited to watch this! I haven't used the Meteorites in so long and I must admit I'm a bit sad to hear they changed the scent! I personally loved the violet scent they had, especially with the Meteorites that are so cute and look like candy, I don't know why but it made me feel like it was a vintage item, something that you would find in a really beautiful vanity table, there was something nostalgic about it. Hi Lexi, great review. I just got my new meteorites in 01. I'm so sad. Guerlain completely ruined the meteorites with the changed scent. Guerlain is one of my favorite high end makeup brands and I can't believe they changed the wonderful violet scent. Also, it just feels like you get so much less for more money, I know there are less grams of product, but you can really tell you're getting less. It's not a good feeling to pay more for less and have an inferior fragrance. The only improvement was the puff instead of the sponge inside. Unless Guerlain goes back to the original violet scent, this will sadly be my last meteorite purchase. I'm sad. Just an FYI, on the Guerlain site they won't allow one to leave a review for the new meteorites, weird.

Lexi, clicked on your video so fast I’ve been waiting for the Meteorites. I love the packaging of the tin but sad they don’t have the violet scent. I hope they bring it back. I actually just checked the 3 that I have and they are the 3 Medium, Electric Pearl which must of been holiday but it has more brown, gold, white in it and Gold Pearls which must be a holiday one that has gold & white and seems more like a highlighter. I thought of purchasing the white 1 for highlighting but after seeing the swatches it may be too light on my skin tone. If anything I may get the darkest one I really like how you use it as a blush/bronzer. I’m hoping I can handle the new scent 😆. I also love the Pop Rose Glow shade on you so I may get that too. Was waiting for this review, so thank you for all the detailed info! I have always wanted to try the meteorites and missed out on the holiday release. So, I purchased #2 as soon as it launched. Now, I’m a little concerned because your demo showed #2 as golden/warm leaning. I hope that is not the case with this new launch. Guerlain websites states it as cool/rose. Can’t say anything regarding the scent as I don’t have any prior meteorites to compare to but do understand the disappointment.

I wish they hadn’t seemingly abandoned the baked formula for their quads. I feel like it was a truly remarkable formula and absolutely worthy of the price. I loved it. I haven’t gotten any quads with this regular pressed powder formula, but these shades are pretty. I really like the coral/pink look you made. I don’t think I’ll get this one unless I find it eventually with a discount. If the blue had been more dazzling, I’d maybe feel different. I did go ahead and get the pinker/coral Suqqu palette along with the purple, so I might be set for coral/warm pinks for now. But now to the most important thing. THE METEORITES!! I’m so glad I got the holiday edition so I have some with the old, delightful violet scent. I know I won’t be a fan of the new fragrance 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I was initially interested in Pearly White. But with the scent and the intensity being increased--I’m not sure I’d like that. I buff in Meteorites to use as a finishing powder.
I bought the undressed brown quad, thinking it would be the baked formula. It wasn’t. But how amazing would those shades have been baked?! I’m also just skipping the new quads until they bring back the baked formula.

I got my package yesterday, I chose the darkest shade of Meteorites. I have a couple of these already. I felt like the quantity is small compared to old ones.
It is! I had the volume comparisons mentioned in there somewhere but they are 5 g less than the old version and 2 g less than the holiday and ones from last summer yet they cost more now.
Thanks for the detailed review! Disappointed we don't get the nice baked eyeshadow formula anymore! 😅 Is the topper shade similar to the old Dior toppers? Like in Plum Tulle, Nude Dress and others you have hard pressed & dry, crumbly feeling white toppers. I dislike those. What are your luxury faves for eyeshadows? I'd love to know 😊 things are changing a lot lately. Maybe you could do an overview! I'm always wondering what brands are worthwhile still for formula AND colour story AND packaging. For powder shadow I do love Givenchy, Suqqu + old Tom Ford. Dior & Guerlain have fallen off, Chanel am waiting a permanent quad. Tom Ford we wait the future. Valentino seems just OK? Sisley I want to try. I'm very curious about the Louboutin palettes (6 pan?) as reviews are all over the place. Hermes or Burberry don't seem to add anything new in formula or colours? The YSL seem to struggle w fall out of the toppers... ? Cle de Peau has a beautiful unique formula, beautiful colors too. Baked shadows I love TF & Chantecaille. Cream shadows TF is great. Rabanne I don't know what to think, don't think the packaging is that nice.... Prada is maybe worth a try? I liked those small Gucci eye and face palettes. Bobby Brown & Laura Mercier are a bit underrated. ND and PMG I sadly really dislike like the big size of their palettes/packaging😅😅 I don't enjoy lugging these heavy big palettes around. I would love if PMG would do lighter & smaller palettes in her top quality
I would say the light blue is not quite as dry as the Dior ones but it is in that formula family. Things really have been changing a lot and I'm looking forward to reorganizing everything I have and doing some favorites videos soon. I really think the new CdP quads are a really great formula. Those are one of the new ones that I think are a very successful reformulation. I agree with you about the ones you mentioned. I haven't tried the Louboutin 6 pan but I didn't love the duo so I'm not really excited for them unless they come out with a very amazing color story that I can't resist. I think the Prada is definitely worth trying and they might be my favorite right now.

Super informative review as usual 😉 I am wondering if my Météorites from last Christmas (in the green scales packaging) are the new or the old formulation : it is said clair/light on the bottom and 22g with no puff but the sponge so I lean more for the old formula but the balls look like the new warmer version 🤔 do you have any clue on that ?
The Holiday Meteorites are the same as shade 02 but they are the new formula with the old scent. They are the exact same as the ones I showed for 02 here. I happen to have them in both packaging styles just to verify they were the same, lol.
Great video Lexi and the Meteorites look lovely on you! Sad to hear the scent is now musky etc - not my favourite smell at all! I have the old no. 2 - cooler one than the re-released no. 2 and I agree it is such a lovely shade and better than the new one. The other shades used as light bronze/blush was a clever way to put them into use. I like those lip balms and the lip oil is giving me a bit of a Chantecaille Bourbon Rose vibe - wonder if you'd agree?!

Hello, I’m new to this and don’t understand what meteorites are and what they do exactly. My big thing is blush. I read all your comments and #4 can be blush and people have liked the white one. And I don’t understand the different colors. I’m a bit fascinated with it all. Also I love no makeup makeup but like pretty. Any advice is appreciated.
Meteorites are balls of colored powder. Many of them have a pearly finish and there are always a few matte pearls in the mix. Basically, you have a jar of these balls and they get a bit crushed on the bottom so you can use that powder for a more intense highlight, or you can use a brush to dust over the pearls and then buff it into your skin as a finishing powder or for a subtle highlight. Buffed into the skin, they give a beautiful glow that doesn't look powdery and that is my favorite application in general but with the deeper shades, you can use them a soft highlighting blush/bronzer. The main thing is just that they are similar in shape and size to the "dippin' dots" ice cream instead of being flat in a pan. This allows for a natural blend of colors on your brush where everything kind of melds together so you don't have streaks of color like you might get from a swirled pan. The different colors of the pearls are meant to help with color correction of different complexions such as the green helping to tone down redness and so forth. Hi Lexi! If you were just shopping for one easy tinted lip balm product - which would you go for? I have been eyeing this Guerlain balm, Addiction Tokyo’s lip tint, and the Sisely Lip Twist but haven’t been able to decide!
That is so tough! I think it really prefers which format style you like. The Sisley and the Addiction Tokyo are more pigmented and lipstick like overall so if you are preferring something more like a very sheer lip balm, the Guerlain is your best option.

Very helpful review! Does the box have an ingredients list? The original meteorites were made with baking soda. I have the Pearl Glow which is a talc formula. All of the cosmetic companies are struggling with replacing talc with starches and mica.

@@mewv3 you’re welcome! The pearls also appear to be a little smaller. I don’t know for sure if the previous, permanent one was the same as the holiday one, but this one is definitely different; the old one was called ‘light’ and this one is called ‘cool’. I bought the new pearl shade and love them. But, I really don't like the new scent. When these were first released in the 80's I bought them and the scent was so strong......I couldn't wear them. This time around the scent is not one that will knock you on your back.....like the first release.....but still not as nice as the last one. Love the new puff! 🎉

Unfortunately, Guerlain doesn’t have may favorite eye shadow formula and I never used my Meteroites, so that is a no go too. I do like their lipstick and oil formulas, but I don’t need any, so this whole collection is a pass for me!
Hi Lexi! Thank you for purchasing and showcasing Guerlain’s much-anticipated spring 2024 collection - which inclues new shades of Meteorites. The eye quad does look nice on you - it’s not a colour story for me. Conversely, the Pearly White meteorites are on my must-get list. I am considering shade 4 as well - to use as blush. (For bronzer, nothing beats Gucci for me so no 3 for me.) I will also get the new Rose Pop balm. I really appreciate all the swatches and demos - and your mention of which brushes work best with the Meteorites. It is disappointing that the Meteorites now have a musk and sandalwood fragrance (as both scents tend to project far and languish in the nose). Hopefully, there will be enough complaints about the new scent that Guerlain will improve on it with the next collection. Thanks again. Have a great weekend!
Sure! The meteorites are essentially a radiant finishing powder and you can adjust how much of a sheen you get depending upon your application. The powders look best, in my opinion, buffed into the skin where they then seem to melt and give a luminous glow. Some meteorites in the past have been kind of shimmery and then that is too much but these more classic shades that they have updated here are great for all over color, aside from the pearly white which is a bit more luminous and intended more as a highlighter. You can also use meteorites as a highlighter by brushing over the pearls for a subtle glow or getting some of the crushed powder at the bottom of the container for a more intense sheen. The idea behind the different shades is to add some color correction along with brightening and they are separate pearls instead of mixed to prevent a muddy effect. In my opinion, the meteorites are underwhelming when applied with a fluffy/airy powder brush and you don't see the true effect unless you buff them into the skin. They are not as radiant as something like an hourglass powder but offer a luminous sophistication that is more subtle.
I'm so intrigued by these meteorites nut the fact that the grams are decreasing and the price is increasing has me feeling disappointed so I'll probably not try this Thanks so much for your indents review as always ❤❤

Glad I watched your video before taking the plunge. Oh Guerlain you’re breaking my heart. I’ve been collecting meteorites for over 20 years and I’ve noticed the decline. Now we have less product and a more expensive price and sorry but the change in scent is hands down a deal breaker for me. The eye shadow quad is so disappointing. I don’t understand how Violette French’s own make up line has some amazing colors with her yeux paints but all I’ve seen from her with Guerlain are shades of pink and red. Well, I love the original violet scent. But I couldn't resist and bought the new shade 1 of these.. tho I gotta way for 2 months for my bf to bring them and I highly hope I won't be super repulsed by the scent cos typically I am not a fan of woody scents..
@@LexiJong Ok I received them.. I got shade 2 as well and I will speak about this one since it's my color. So, i noticed the tin doesn't close very well as in one of the sides of the lid seems to be higher than the other? Does your meteorites has this issue? It is almost as if something underneath lift the lid. So the balls came quite broken and I wonder if maybe i got some used and returned ones.. pretty much all of the balls have uneven shape, some are broken, but some just look weird - they are not round but rather odd shape or spiky or egg shape, some are big some are small.. green ones are really small I noticed and I have only 4 purple ones? idk if that's how they come or not.. it seems like balls in general are not many. I have seen reviews of this new meteorites and seems like ppl have more of the pearls than I do. The smell - not as bad as I expected, smells like a woody shampoo to me, BUT.. smell is really strong on the skin. not so much in the in but on the skin lingers and that bothers me. So overall not a horrible scent but not my thing, i liked the violet better.
@@LexiJong After playing with the balls, these are my thoughts... The new scent is horrible! Too strong and lingers for hours on the skin, so irritating.. new tin is really nice, but lid is impossible to open and close cos too tight.. the balls on the other hand are way too unevenly shaped, very small amount and bit too sparkly.. I look like Edward from Twilight when I put them on my face.. :(
I have a video on both of them. I like the new formula. I personally prefer the blue color story more. Overall, I really like both of the quads but they aren't perfect imo. The pinks in the coral quad are too similar and the blue one won't be for everyone.
I am dissapointed with their Luminizer and bought the Rose which is just another gold luminzer ugh! Yes I wish they would bring back the Violet scent as I have noticed the entire industry has jus tgone way overboard with the sandalwood overall.

@@topsi91 I agree and unfortunately the #3 shade, called "warm" looks to be a lot deeper than the Holiday one. Fortunately I like having the cooler change, though I have no problem with the one without the cool white balls. I prefer the old scent, but don't mind the new one. What I really hate in products is that new iterations that are meant to be "cleaner" really kill shelf life! I think Dior is down to 6 months with their eye shadows. Who finishes their products in that little time?
Hi Lexi, I feel rather badly for you that you went all in with the meterorites knowing your excitement about them, the collection and the brand, only to discover they changed the scent to a musky sandalwood from the original violet. The packaging is absolutely riveting but I can appreciate that when you purchase something based on past experience, it's quite the surprise and letdown when they change something iconic that never needed to be changed. I love the pearl glow meteorites and it is my most used shade of meteorites. Those are a bit more pink and have a rosiness to them while these are truly white. The pearl glow is still my favorite.
I was just thinking this too put the older formula in the new packaging. I unknowingly sent back the beautiful violet scented older ones in exchange for the colorful packaging 😱🫠😅

Hi Lexi. I bought the new Meteorites and at first had trouble figuring out the familiar scent. Then I remembered. It’s based on Guerlain’s Samsara! A softer version of it. It also has violet in it but not really violet forward. While I like the scent and have worn it many years ago, I really miss the original simple violet scent.

I’m so upset the changed the scent. Don’t we have an overload of sandalwood and vanilla product scents. Ugh! The original scent was so unique and one of the only makeup scents that was intoxicating. Now they are just a standard perfume all over your face. Why???? Ugh!!

Hi Lexi, great review. I just got my new meteorites in 01. I'm so sad. Guerlain completely ruined the meteorites with the changed scent. Guerlain is one of my favorite high end makeup brands and I can't believe they changed the wonderful violet scent. Also, it just feels like you get so much less for more money, I know there are less grams of product, but you can really tell you're getting less. It's not a good feeling to pay more for less and have an inferior fragrance. The only improvement was the puff instead of the sponge inside. Unless Guerlain goes back to the original violet scent, this will sadly be my last meteorite purchase. I'm sad. Just an FYI, on the Guerlain site they won't allow one to leave a review for the new meteorites, weird.

I really think Amber will work for a lot of skintones in various applications. I think you could use 3 or 4 but 4 is probably more versatile.

Lexi, clicked on your video so fast I’ve been waiting for the Meteorites. I love the packaging of the tin but sad they don’t have the violet scent. I hope they bring it back. I actually just checked the 3 that I have and they are the 3 Medium, Electric Pearl which must of been holiday but it has more brown, gold, white in it and Gold Pearls which must be a holiday one that has gold & white and seems more like a highlighter. I thought of purchasing the white 1 for highlighting but after seeing the swatches it may be too light on my skin tone. If anything I may get the darkest one I really like how you use it as a blush/bronzer. I’m hoping I can handle the new scent 😆. I also love the Pop Rose Glow shade on you so I may get that too. I have always wanted to try the meteorites and missed out on the holiday release. So, I purchased #2 as soon as it launched. Now, I’m a little concerned because your demo showed #2 as golden/warm leaning. I hope that is not the case with this new launch. Guerlain websites states it as cool/rose. Can’t say anything regarding the scent as I don’t have any prior meteorites to compare to but do understand the disappointment.
I hope yours is cooler than mine. It's definitely dependent on the percentage of golden/yellow balls in there and which are more crushed.

I wish they hadn’t seemingly abandoned the baked formula for their quads. I feel like it was a truly remarkable formula and absolutely worthy of the price. I loved it.
I haven’t gotten any quads with this regular pressed powder formula, but these shades are pretty. I really like the coral/pink look you made. I don’t think I’ll get this one unless I find it eventually with a discount. If the blue had been more dazzling, I’d maybe feel different. I did go ahead and get the pinker/coral Suqqu palette along with the purple, so I might be set for coral/warm pinks for now.
But now to the most important thing. THE METEORITES!! I’m so glad I got the holiday edition so I have some with the old, delightful violet scent. I know I won’t be a fan of the new fragrance 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I was initially interested in Pearly White. But with the scent and the intensity being increased--I’m not sure I’d like that. I buff in Meteorites to use as a finishing powder.
I bought the undressed brown quad, thinking it would be the baked formula. It wasn’t. But how amazing would those shades have been baked?! I’m also just skipping the new quads until they bring back the baked formula.

I got my package yesterday, I chose the darkest shade of Meteorites. I have a couple of these already. I felt like the quantity is small compared to old ones.
It is! I had the volume comparisons mentioned in there somewhere but they are 5 g less than the old version and 2 g less than the holiday and ones from last summer yet they cost more now.
Thanks for the detailed review! Disappointed we don't get the nice baked eyeshadow formula anymore! 😅 Is the topper shade similar to the old Dior toppers? Like in Plum Tulle, Nude Dress and others you have hard pressed & dry, crumbly feeling white toppers. I dislike those.
What are your luxury faves for eyeshadows? I'd love to know 😊 things are changing a lot lately. Maybe you could do an overview! I'm always wondering what brands are worthwhile still for formula AND colour story AND packaging.
For powder shadow I do love Givenchy, Suqqu + old Tom Ford.
Dior & Guerlain have fallen off, Chanel am waiting a permanent quad. Tom Ford we wait the future. Valentino seems just OK? Sisley I want to try. I'm very curious about the Louboutin palettes (6 pan?) as reviews are all over the place.
Hermes or Burberry don't seem to add anything new in formula or colours? The YSL seem to struggle w fall out of the toppers... ? Cle de Peau has a beautiful unique formula, beautiful colors too. Baked shadows I love TF & Chantecaille. Cream shadows TF is great. Rabanne I don't know what to think, don't think the packaging is that nice.... Prada is maybe worth a try? I liked those small Gucci eye and face palettes. Bobby Brown & Laura Mercier are a bit underrated.
ND and PMG I sadly really dislike like the big size of their palettes/packaging😅😅 I don't enjoy lugging these heavy big palettes around. I would love if PMG would do lighter & smaller palettes in her top quality
I would say the light blue is not quite as dry as the Dior ones but it is in that formula family. Things really have been changing a lot and I'm looking forward to reorganizing everything I have and doing some favorites videos soon. I really think the new CdP quads are a really great formula. Those are one of the new ones that I think are a very successful reformulation. I agree with you about the ones you mentioned. I haven't tried the Louboutin 6 pan but I didn't love the duo so I'm not really excited for them unless they come out with a very amazing color story that I can't resist. I think the Prada is definitely worth trying and they might be my favorite right now.

The Holiday Meteorites are the same as shade 02 but they are the new formula with the old scent. They are the exact same as the ones I showed for 02 here. I happen to have them in both packaging styles just to verify they were the same, lol.

I have the old no. 2 - cooler one than the re-released no. 2 and I agree it is such a lovely shade and better than the new one. The other shades used as light bronze/blush was a clever way to put them into use. I like those lip balms and the lip oil is giving me a bit of a Chantecaille Bourbon Rose vibe - wonder if you'd agree?!
I think the lip oil is a touch brighter pink than Bourbon Rose but that is definitely a close comparison!

It's most similar to Sisley L'orchidee blushes and this shade is closest to the original shade 1 in that formula.

Hello, I’m new to this and don’t understand what meteorites are and what they do exactly. My big thing is blush. I read all your comments and #4 can be blush and people have liked the white one. And I don’t understand the different colors. I’m a bit fascinated with it all. Also I love no makeup makeup but like pretty. Any advice is appreciated.
Meteorites are balls of colored powder. Many of them have a pearly finish and there are always a few matte pearls in the mix. Basically, you have a jar of these balls and they get a bit crushed on the bottom so you can use that powder for a more intense highlight, or you can use a brush to dust over the pearls and then buff it into your skin as a finishing powder or for a subtle highlight. Buffed into the skin, they give a beautiful glow that doesn't look powdery and that is my favorite application in general but with the deeper shades, you can use them a soft highlighting blush/bronzer. The main thing is just that they are similar in shape and size to the "dippin' dots" ice cream instead of being flat in a pan. This allows for a natural blend of colors on your brush where everything kind of melds together so you don't have streaks of color like you might get from a swirled pan. The different colors of the pearls are meant to help with color correction of different complexions such as the green helping to tone down redness and so forth. this Guerlain balm, Addiction Tokyo’s lip tint, and the Sisely Lip Twist but haven’t been able to decide!
That is so tough! I think it really prefers which format style you like. The Sisley and the Addiction Tokyo are more pigmented and lipstick like overall so if you are preferring something more like a very sheer lip balm, the Guerlain is your best option.

Very helpful review! Does the box have an ingredients list? The original meteorites were made with baking soda. I have the Pearl Glow which is a talc formula. All of the cosmetic companies are struggling with replacing talc with starches and mica.
They replaced the talc. I'll have to look for my box when I get a chance.

Yes, I did that outside for a day and it helped but it's still pretty strong every time I open it.

I bought the new pearl shade and love them. But, I really don't like the new scent. When these were first released in the 80's I bought them and the scent was so strong......I couldn't wear them. This time around the scent is not one that will knock you on your back.....like the first release.....but still not as nice as the last one. Love the new puff! 🎉

They are both great palettes but I prefer the Givenchy personally. It's more of a subtle sophistication imo.

I got the 2023 holiday, LE meteorites, and the smell is pretty strong. I wish they would reduce the amount of scent in them.

Unfortunately, Guerlain doesn’t have may favorite eye shadow formula and I never used my Meteroites, so that is a no go too. I do like their lipstick and oil formulas, but I don’t need any, so this whole collection is a pass for me!

No, my skin is balanced/normal hydration that leans a little dry depending on the weather.
Hi Lexi! Thank you for purchasing and showcasing Guerlain’s much-anticipated spring 2024 collection - which inclues new shades of Meteorites. The eye quad does look nice on you - it’s not a colour story for me. Conversely, the Pearly White meteorites are on my must-get list. I am considering shade 4 as well - to use as blush. (For bronzer, nothing beats Gucci for me so no 3 for me.) I will also get the new Rose Pop balm. I really appreciate all the swatches and demos - and your mention of which brushes work best with the Meteorites. It is disappointing that the Meteorites now have a musk and sandalwood fragrance (as both scents tend to project far and languish in the nose). Hopefully, there will be enough complaints about the new scent that Guerlain will improve on it with the next collection. Thanks again. Have a great weekend!

Sure! The meteorites are essentially a radiant finishing powder and you can adjust how much of a sheen you get depending upon your application. The powders look best, in my opinion, buffed into the skin where they then seem to melt and give a luminous glow. Some meteorites in the past have been kind of shimmery and then that is too much but these more classic shades that they have updated here are great for all over color, aside from the pearly white which is a bit more luminous and intended more as a highlighter. You can also use meteorites as a highlighter by brushing over the pearls for a subtle glow or getting some of the crushed powder at the bottom of the container for a more intense sheen. The idea behind the different shades is to add some color correction along with brightening and they are separate pearls instead of mixed to prevent a muddy effect. In my opinion, the meteorites are underwhelming when applied with a fluffy/airy powder brush and you don't see the true effect unless you buff them into the skin. They are not as radiant as something like an hourglass powder but offer a luminous sophistication that is more subtle.
I might get the new Meteorites just for the packaging. I can replace the pearls with the original formula pearls that I have.

I completely agree! It does not seem more modern to me plus not everything has to be new and modern, we love these brands for their classics too.
Glad I watched your video before taking the plunge. Oh Guerlain you’re breaking my heart. I’ve been collecting meteorites for over 20 years and I’ve noticed the decline. Now we have less product and a more expensive price and sorry but the change in scent is hands down a deal breaker for me. The eye shadow quad is so disappointing. I don’t understand how Violette French’s own make up line has some amazing colors with her yeux paints but all I’ve seen from her with Guerlain are shades of pink and red. Thanks again Lexi for such a thorough review.
I was thinking the same thing about Violette's line vs. Guerlain's. I thought they would be more aligned but they are drastically different. I think I love all of Violette's items.

Well, I love the original violet scent. But I couldn't resist and bought the new shade 1 of these.. tho I gotta way for 2 months for my bf to bring them and I highly hope I won't be super repulsed by the scent cos typically I am not a fan of woody scents..

@@LexiJong Ok I received them.. I got shade 2 as well and I will speak about this one since it's my color. So, i noticed the tin doesn't close very well as in one of the sides of the lid seems to be higher than the other? Does your meteorites has this issue? It is almost as if something underneath lift the lid. So the balls came quite broken and I wonder if maybe i got some used and returned ones.. pretty much all of the balls have uneven shape, some are broken, but some just look weird - they are not round but rather odd shape or spiky or egg shape, some are big some are small.. green ones are really small I noticed and I have only 4 purple ones? idk if that's how they come or not.. it seems like balls in general are not many. I have seen reviews of this new meteorites and seems like ppl have more of the pearls than I do. The smell - not as bad as I expected, smells like a woody shampoo to me, BUT.. smell is really strong on the skin. not so much in the in but on the skin lingers and that bothers me. So overall not a horrible scent but not my thing, i liked the violet better.
@@LexiJong After playing with the balls, these are my thoughts... The new scent is horrible! Too strong and lingers for hours on the skin, so irritating.. new tin is really nice, but lid is impossible to open and close cos too tight.. the balls on the other hand are way too unevenly shaped, very small amount and bit too sparkly.. I look like Edward from Twilight when I put them on my face.. :(
What is your favorite spring palette period?
From this year's releases, Chanel Mirage. Viseart Violette Vespertine is another favorite although not technically a spring palette.

I have a video on both of them. I like the new formula. I personally prefer the blue color story more. Overall, I really like both of the quads but they aren't perfect imo. The pinks in the coral quad are too similar and the blue one won't be for everyone.
I am buying the blue one although normally I look better in darker blues. I probably will use the blue just as a topper. Thank yoi

I am dissapointed with their Luminizer and bought the Rose which is just another gold luminzer ugh! Yes I wish they would bring back the Violet scent as I have noticed the entire industry has jus tgone way overboard with the sandalwood overall.
Yes! Too much sandalwood everywhere for me. I like it but too much of anything gets to be overwhelming.

Oh no! I just returned the silver packing one to Nordstroms because I thought I was going to get the colorful packaging I was so confused why I got different packaging and I bought the colorful one at Guerlain’s website I didn’t know they changed the scent 😱 the silver packaging scent was aoooo good and the pearls were nice I just wanted the colorful packaging 😅😕 I didn’t know they changed the scent to sandalwood 😱 uh oh 🫠

@@LexiJong I like the scent mine was very similar to the old one but had an extra something like saddle wood but you can’t always smell the saddle wood. The violet really stands out in mine phew 😅😍💜
