we had a 3 inch gas main take a shit Friday. none of the isolation valves held/worked or were rerouted somewhere over the years. gas company killed the main, 220 units without heat, hot water. had to use authorized contractor due to number of units affected. bill for that cluster came in somewhere around $20k not including the 200 hotel rooms reserved at $200/night

Well their was some colorful metaphors in the making of this video. Can`t believe the person that built that wall just covered that mess up . Not sure about the black tape fix on that " outside faucet "?

You should’ve heard what was edited out of the vid 😂 I know and he did the Reno 20 years ago, and it was the hot side that burst. She’ll have a tonne of drywall to remove before the mold begins ! Haha you noticed the tape😂 Shows you how much I wanted to get out of there, in the end I had to do what had to be done. Thanks for the comment brother

What a mess you had to deal with! However, you stopped the leaks. My sister and I are facing a similar situation in the house in which we grew up. We are cleaning the house out and getting it ready to sell. The second bathroom was built in 1967 in a spot where it should never have been put. It was poorly constructed with pipes on the outside wall behind the tub and toilet, and pipes in the wall next to the garage. A couple of years ago, the pipes froze while my niece was staying there. I had her shut the water off and open the drain valves in the basement. Back in the fall, I tried to turn the water back on so I could clean up the bathroom. I could hear water rushing in the wall while nothing was running from the faucets or in the toilet tank. When I went into the basement, I could see water pouring out of the hole that the contractors made to run the water and drain pipes to the bathroom. So, this is going to mean either tearing out the walls in the bathroom or accessing them from outside. So, we are going to have to find a plumber who is willing to take on which I expect will be a nasty job.

Im relieved to be still in one piece ! Late jobs are becoming more and more frequent as of late. Wow an incredible series of events right there. Especially approaching selling time. If only I was your neighbour I could get you up and running and upload! I hope you find the right outfit that can get you back up and running chief !

Homeowner didn’t turn on heat while not home? Not much insulation on the exterior walls especially with water pipes. That had to be your last job of the day… good solid repairs. Thanks for sharing mate.

looks alot like our complex's shitty plumbing. except almost every riser /branch line is 50+ year old M copper with shitload of soft copper throw in. ancient crusty havent been turned off in 40+ years gate valves arent helping. we just had 3 major gas leaks. complex is falling apart from owners being cheapasses for the last 40 years. charge large, do what you can with garbage that is there

Are you tied to the building so? What about leaving ? Sucks to have to go through all those ordeals my man. Especially the gas leaks that’s a whole other level of danger like. How did ye discover them?

I second that lad! The customer said it was a leak on the outside it was so loud haha. I went there hoping to give a price to excavate outside and repair. I guess not !! I was back there last week and put in a laundry box
