- If you ask Hozier what it mean to be a “breakthrough streaming superstar” he replies, “but is it really what the press kit says?” Well, this young Irish guy is the absolute sensation of 2014 thanks to his touching and engaging hit “Take Me To Church” (over 83 million streams on RUclips) is really special. He never gives cheesy answers and has a message of hope for the music scene in general. He has no hurry to get there, but his impeccable study of music has earned him a place among best young writers. We met him and we talked about everything: the album "Hozier", religion, homophobia and his music influences.
he's so intelligent it hurts. in a good way.
Hozier: *is the most wholesome, lovely, delicate and kind person to walk this earth*
Also Hozier: yeah so this song is from the perspective of THE DEVIL
I am introduced to a new facet of this man's music every time he opens his mouth.
finnickfan He refers to James Joyce in his music. As an English Lit student, i THINK I'M LITERALLY CRYING A LITTLE BIT RIGHT NOW. How can someone be this beautiful ;_;
he looks like a male super model.
What an intellegent, humble and just simply amazing singer/musician :D
HE'S SO BABY IN THIS VIDEOOO
what an insightful young gentleman
Hozier is a legend!! So unique so pure so honest so talented.. Gosh! God bless you..
FANTASTIC HOZIER !!!!!!!
I love how he play out the ideas on his songs 💕
He said that he says god whenever something bad happens, but us Muslim say god whenever we see something so beautiful. For us god is beauty. There is so many small details between what west and east think of religion to me it's funny.
Hozier isn't religious he's just saying that it's become such a commen phrase that he instinctively says it when he stubs his toe
@@jojones4685 yah, i get that he's not religious. I am just saying that east and west society have different perspective on God and religion.
Hozier, you are amazing! Thank you for sharing your insight and creative self! I love listening to you.
I cant wait for his next album 😆😆😆
Proud to be irish now
Моё сердце покорено раз и навсегда♡

Can anyone tell me what does he mean in foreigner's God ?? 😥
Foreigners God is a song about cheating.
Foreigners god is kind of about the feeling of not belonging in the sense of your personal beliefs and opinions rather that physically bot belonging. It's really more complicated than that but that's a greatly simplified explanation.
Which book did he mention?
"A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man" by James Joyce
I listen to 'From Eden' a lot and I would have NEVER thought a part of it would be based upon the mean guy underground. I believe in God and to me I was shocked when he said that cause it is such a momentous video about a family and things like that so I would have never thought a part of his song we be able the devil 😞
Not everything is butterflies dear. It's a great song. Period.
Isabella Diaz I just take his music from what it is worth (because I like the melody) but all those times I am very much aware of that dark lingering influence. Lucifer tries to win the world by his beauty and talent. I dont let it his views influence me. I love God. Jesus is real and hell is real.
He could be a better person for google or Amazon, but im sure he wouldn't take the job
