I used to watch Lonnie Mack playing in a bar from just a few feet away. And he'd come outside in the parking lot after the set and smoke with us . He was fun to be around , always happy to just play and have a good time with people like himself.
You can always tell when the camera person isn't a musician. The piano player is killing it on his solo and the camera is on everyone else, including a stupid shot of the bass drum.
What a treasure,I've never seen the first 2 clips before. Film footage of Lonnie is fairly hard to come by so its a real treat to find something new. Lonnie never got his proper due when he was alive and then had the bad luck to pass on the same day as Prince so it slipped by without getting the notice it should. Does anyone remember seeing him sit in with the band on Saturday Night Live? John Mellencamp was the host and Lonnie got a couple good cameos when they went to commercial breaks.
Watching a video of an interview featuring William Bootsy Collins and he mentioned this guy as one of his favorites back in the day. This dude Lonnie IS badd.

My late wife served him drinks in a Westside Cincinnati bar, about 20 yrs ago. Always a fan!!

I am 75, and Memphis was the first 45 record I ever bought when in Jr Hi. That song got me hooked on the electric guitar, which has never left me.
Best version of Memphis I have ever heard . That V sounds so good
He made that guitar cry!!!😯
