    What I did with respect to PC changes on the boogie was to print out their list of combinations (its in the manual) and then just set the PC on the Helix to use the combo I wanted. Great video!

    Hey dude. can you PLEASE explain how to do this on a triple rectifier? My rectifier seems to be stuck on channel 2. Which is on on the back of the amp? and do I need to have program change in the helix with the 4cm and it will switch channel? I still dont really get it. Please help.

    • @TheOriginalMack
      @TheOriginalMack 6 лет назад +1

      Any midi controller can control any midi amp which is what we're seeing here. The more standard way (the way blackstar probably does it) of remote controlling amp channel is with a TRS cable, which the Helix (and many others could do) could also do.

  • @AllenHarrison

    You should do this again with an amp that doesn't have midi switching, something like your dual recs? does that controller do non midi amp channel switching?

    Hey man quick question for you, I can't find the answer anywhere. I have a Diezel VH-4, its midi capable. My helix clicks/pops when I change channels with it. its not a smooth transition. Also the effects don't spill over when I change patches. what am I doing wrong? My TC-G System was awesome, I just wanted to modernize. this is really bothering me.

    • @Franklifts77
      @Franklifts77 6 лет назад +1

      marc vaughn you will need to get a midi mate amp controller since the 6505+ doesn't use either 1/4 jack or midi. If you want to do it, you'll need to send a midi cable from the helix to the RJM uni and than there's a special cable from the RJM unit to the amp head

  • @deathhockey19

    Would i be able to do this for my stereo rig?
    I currently have a dual mono setup (Diezel Einstein Left, EVH Stealth Right) with no pedals or effects and I'm looking for an easy way to sync the two amps up with compressors & drives in the front and delays, reverbs & eqs in the loop.
    Not fussed about IR's at the moment but obviously the would be a plus.
    Would the helix rack be able to do that?
    Thanks in advance.

    What about using the 1/4" ext out for amp switching? I know there's a way to do it, I have just never seen anyone do it. This is with the 4CM of course.

    • @latonpowers5356
      @latonpowers5356 6 лет назад

      It’s really easy. For each patch I assign one switch for the amp channel change and for each snapshot just click to switch for whichever channel I want. And once the patch is saved it changes the channel for each snapshot. And you can use standard 1/4 jack cable if it’s just two channels you want to change or TRS cable for 3.

    Nicely done man! I bought my helix two days ago after spending several hours playing it back and forth with the head rush.
    My only complaint so far is Line 6 his website. It seems like I have to scroll through and less pages of forums just to find the download for the helix editor application, and a half dozen updates with generally unclear instructions.

  • @User-hb2sv

    Hi Ryan, one question: What FX do you use? Parallel or Seriell ?? Because if I use the parallel fx , the Helix Level knob don´t work and the effects are very quiet, if I use the seriell fx, the effects and the Level knob do their job, but the sound is without punch and I have to set the level knob on the helix to max. The same helix settings on the Engl Steve Morse work well in parallel mode. Means, the Level knob works and the effects are fine. Is this a generell prob of the MK3 ??

    Awesome! Would LOVE to see a video like this with the dual rectifier and channel switching with an amp that doesn't have built in midi. I know it's doable, but the information is often really bulky and hidden behind walls of text. :) Keep up the good work!

    • @johannesohlsson221
      @johannesohlsson221 6 лет назад

      Yeah, that's not a very informative video I'm afraid. And it does imply that you'd need to hit two buttons on the helix if you are going to change from channel 2 to 3. I might very well be incorrect there. What I'm after is a way to do this via midi, preferably via some sort of interface (there are a few on the market).
      I just realised that I sound like a douche... sorry about that. It wasn't intentional at all.

    • @JosephFacer
      @JosephFacer 6 лет назад

      I didn’t get that you wanted to do it via midi. Yeah, then my video wouldn’t be helpful. Well if you wanted to do it with 1/4” switching, it’s all detailed there.

    • @JosephFacer
      @JosephFacer 6 лет назад

      And it only takes one button to go to any channel just FYI

      Good point but i would say this only applies if you already own the stomps that you need.
      If ive then got to buy a separate harmoniser, compressor, reverb, and delay stomp etc i may aswell get the helix for less and have a cleaner setup
