ranwolf76 they were ok, but that in of itself was ok. they were campy b movies at best but they did provide story and mystique, how many wrestlers so you know fought off vampire women, or visited the underworld to rescue his friends?

As a horror fan, Mexican horror wrestling is a sadly overlooked genre. Santo's films are incredibly entertaining. Just pure nonsense bliss. El Santo absolutely deserved this pipebomb.

I'm mexican and my mom & dad met because of his movies! My parents used to go to the cinema when a Santo movie was released, they say the crowds used to cheer like it was a wrestling arena when he started to fight with the villains. Such a legend... And maybe the reason why I do exist.

The Legacy wing seems like an under-representation, I understand. But it's hard to honor people that have long passed the same way we honor those that have recently passed or are still alive.

Crazy Fact: back in 1998, WWF had a TV program called "Super Astros", which was exclusively aired in México. And "El Hijo Del Santo" (Son of El Santo) wrestled a few times, but the crowd didn't like him as much as other WWF Superstars, since Superastros was a Pre-show for Raw. Seriously, you need to watch those matches. Hijo del Santo is just as espectacular as his father in the ring.

Thanks so much for this. I love El Santo, and my Mexican Wife can confirm, EVERYONE south of the border knows who he is. He was bigger than Hogan, bigger than Cena. He was the Bog Dog.
