Seven years later…. It’s still an excellent video. Thank you! We just bought one of these for our daughter and it’s very helpful to have this video available as a basic overview. In fact, it’s exactly the type of show-n-tell overview you would typically receive from the dealer if you had bought the car brand new.
I greatly appreciate you posting this video. I just bought this exact car and was so lost on how to operate different things so i appreciate you doing this it helped me out a lot.
I have a 2016 Cherokee sport which has all of the features of this one except fog lights. Mine also has rubber mats, heated steering wheel, heated seats, remote start and XM satellite radio. I love it!
I know it is several years after this video posted but I had to say thank you! I just bought used vehicle of this type and you just saved me hours of trying to read manual to figure stuff out!
This is the best in depth review for this specific vehicle on RUclips. I have been doing research on the Cherokee, trying to decide whether it was the vehicle for me. Your video helped a lot in making the decision to purchase a Trailhawk, as well as answer some questions after purchasing it. Like Like Like the video :)
I have a 2016 Jeep Cherokee Latitude AWD with a little over 58000 miles on it. It runs great and very clean in 2024! Mine does have the spare tire and CD player in the middle console. I still enjoy it.
I can tell you from driving this car a few days ago 12/14/15 I felt quite confident with the drive itself in Colorado. As you may or may not know their was a pretty bad snow storm up their and was very happy to have the 4wd and had the snow settings on. Jeep i feel is know for its off road capabilities and top of my list for rain or snow driving. My only gripe is the headlights are absolutely terrible (halogen bulbs) they weren't up to par driving on a dark road when putting on the high beams the fog lights on the bottom turn off very odd and further more not helpful. If you have the option to have led's for the headlights its absolutely worth getting for a little extra then this is the perfect suv. I will say while going through that almost empty highway while snow falling i haven't fish tailed once so i felt quite at ease majority of the ride.
+Ralph9876 Yes it is amazing how awesome the 4wd system is in the Cherokee. I had a chance to compare it to some other brands with AWD/4WD systems in the freezing rain. The other brands were sliding around the track but the Cherokee felt like it was glued to the ground. I didn't get a chance to film much but here are a few shots of the event. ruclips.net/video/1xA3lwVypKY/видео.html
Thank you! I just bought a 2016 Jeep Cherokee Latitude and tried to read the owners manual. I didn't learn as much from that as I did from your video. In fact I was trying to find the fuel gage and it isn't even mentioned in the index. Once you pointed it out, it was obvious. I don't know how long it would have taken me to find the fuel door button. I may have to watch this again, but I think I know the basics now.
It seems to me that most of the bugs have been worked out by the 2015 year model. But don't just take my word for it. I'm on Cherokee #2. My first one was a brand new 2015 Trailhawk with the V6. Absolutely no issues with it! I lost it due to losing my job after 12 years. My second one is a 2015 Latitude with the 4 cyl. I can definitely tell the difference in power from the V6. Also I've had zero problems with it thus far.
My screen isn't like this Mike. It's bigger and it works differently. I think my screen is an upgrade from this one in the video. Is there another video for that one?
I own a 2015. The 9 speed transmission is a nightmare. Also have a slight front end shimmy when taking off from a dead stop. The Start/stop system is also a nightmare.
Hi Mike, Just bought the 2016 Jeep Cherokee Latitude and the screen in my jeep is much bigger than the one you're showing in this video...is their a reason why?
I just got one of these cars, and was told the seat was adjustable. I would like it a little higher. I see 2 levers on the side of the seat next to the door, but they don’t seem to do anything. Maybe I am not pulling on then hard enough? Any suggestions? Thanks!
Hi.. First Thank you for your video . I am here in Cyprus planning to buy this car 2015 model with 51000mi , I want you advice after 4..5 years using the car ,unfortunately in Europe many bad comments about this model that have many problems... Please advise
"manual" selector indicates the TOP gear the vehicle will move into - not the actual gear--- subtle difference - useful more off road than on road feature
I am not sure what this is responding to. I know that different fluids have different properties. Water (a fluid) has adhesive properties while air (another fluid) does not, for example.
Jeep needs to put the 8-spd transmission in here. The 9-spd is absolute garbage and has the most complaints I've ever seen for a transmission on carcomplaints.
+cpthemonstergamer I think you are referring to a Jeep Wrangler. Even then... most people who buy a new 4 door Wrangler rarely engage the 4wd anyway. The Jeep Cherokee is also available in 4x4 for those who want that capability.
+cpthemonstergamer Jeep couldn't function and be as big as they are JUST making 4wd machines. They can cater to a much bigger audience if they produce vehicles to a larger market. The fact that they make fwd family haulers doesn"t impede their ability to make great 4wd rock crawling monsters.
Who has had bolts brake off in their jeep transmission? Only driven to work...No off road. Jeep charged my wife 4000.00 to fix. Anyone else have this happen?
MikesCarInfo I went to them and they keep saying they can’t do it and I went to uconnect and entered my vin number and it said my radio needs to be updated
+MikesCarInfo what he should really be asking you mike is if you speak gibberish, because that is what he's speaking. But to answer his question, I'm pretty sure you resigned to do RUclips full time right?
There ,ok,,however, ,the dealer needs too add,,the big hell cat engine, for the real jeep power, ,there model has the little 4, cylinder,,the opinions, are laging, behind, ,other models in short,,price kinda high, ,for basic opinions, ,no rear video ,no rear ac,controls,no rear heated seats, Chrysler needs to upgrade, ,there models with better opinions, and keep the price low so everyone will want a hell cat engine, in a jeep fully loaded, ,,enjoy your basic jeep
the gas mileage is poor on the wranglers. the 4 cylinder and 6 cyl cherokee latitude have the exact same mpg. 21 city and 28 highway. so how do you figure its horrible. you my friend dont have a clue what your talking about.and all jeeps maintain their value better than most brands.

Do you still have it? If so would you recommend it?

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I just ordered a 2017. can't wait to pick it up !
Thanks Mike. I just purchased this vehicle today and i absolutely love it.
Do you still own it? How has it held up for you? I’m looking at one now and I’m worried about the reliability
How has it been for you?
@ 3:23 Oh wow...Gotta love that passenger seat feature!!!
Mike according to jeep, the fuel door button is in a hidden position so you don't accidentally bump into it and drive down the rode with it open
Luke Worrell Good Idea!
+MikesCarInfo which is your favorite car brand mine is the Jeep Wrangler that's my favorite
Best review out there!! I just bought a 2015 Cherokee Latitude and you just helped me answer a lot of questions!! Thank You!!

Juan, your Google + settings make it impossible to reply to your comments.
There is no difference that I can tell in the 2015-16
My screen isn't like this Mike. It's bigger and it works differently. I think my screen is an upgrade from this one in the video. Is there another video for that one?
I found this car (push to start) for $12K w/ 130k miles. Do you think this is a deal for today’s economy 2021/2022?
I own a 2015. The 9 speed transmission is a nightmare. Also have a slight front end shimmy when taking off from a dead stop. The Start/stop system is also a nightmare.
I had to turn off start stop it is anoying and late response
Hey Mike is there a big difference between 2015 & 2016!
Your video helped me make up my mind & purchase it. Thank you.
+Viri G. Thank you :)

"water and air are both fluids"
They are, fluids are both gases and liquids
I love my silver Jeep Cherokee!
Great tuturial Mike. Thank you.
Hi Mike, Just bought the 2016 Jeep Cherokee Latitude and the screen in my jeep is much bigger than the one you're showing in this video...is their a reason why?
+Michelle N Jeep offers different size screens... you have the 8.4" screen which is great!
that is a nice looking V. I wish i could trade in my vehicle for one of those.
Love me Jeep Cherokee 2015.
I just got one of these cars, and was told the seat was adjustable. I would like it a little higher. I see 2 levers on the side of the seat next to the door, but they don’t seem to do anything. Maybe I am not pulling on then hard enough? Any suggestions? Thanks!
Pull up repeatedly on the larger lever to raise the seat.
Excellent review!
is the backup camera standard on the Latitude trim level?
Lamo10 no
nice vid. great detail
But do you like the transmission?
How do you take the ABS out of a Cherokee 2016

How's the driver side leg room compared to patriots or liberties, is it wider ?
I'm looking to buy used 2016 Jeep Cherokee.

Thanks :)
That metal piece to hold groceries in the trunk that can be changed out is called?
I'm trying to adjust the steering wheel height and it feels like the lever for it is locked. Any ideas why?
+Jacob Caballero Try to move it with more force.
Welcome to Italian designing ^.^
Oh, we gonna stuff some bricks in the seats, alright😏

Just to let you know. Water and Air are two very different properties. So they’re not the same. But I digress.
I am not sure what this is responding to. I know that different fluids have different properties. Water (a fluid) has adhesive properties while air (another fluid) does not, for example.
But where is the 4 wheel drive engage button?!!
+seatgurus This is a 2wd vehicle.
+MikesCarInfo a 2wd jeep... Im done, fiat has ruined the jeep brand
+averagetoad4600 Lol... Jeep has made 2wd vehicles for over 50 years.
when did air (a gas) become a fluid like water?
+darthkevin30 Liquids, gases and plasmas are all fluids. www.quora.com/Is-air-considered-a-fluid
+MikesCarInfo upon further investigation you are 100 percent correct sir. my apologies.
love it
Jeep needs to put the 8-spd transmission in here. The 9-spd is absolute garbage and has the most complaints I've ever seen for a transmission on carcomplaints.
what is the gas thingy @ 6:30 in the back trunk space on your right next to the tie down bag hangers?
+Shire D Great question! The fuel door manual release is under that little cover.
No cd player?
New vehicles don't have them. They were phased out about 10 years ago.
What is the mpg?
Next time please avoid moving camera so much. It's more comfortable the other way.
+Jinesh Jayakumar Thank you for your feedback :)
can you opt for leather seats?
Not in this model, it starts at the Limited trim level.
and no! we want push button start!
@@pdempw11 should be standard...
Last time i went you was not there
AVELARDo Lara Yeah I stopped working there around May 12. I still go back to film their new vehicles so you might see me around sometime.
Take the cars for a drive!! so we can see the performance
Why would anyone want a FWD Jeep? Isn't the point of driving a Jeep is the 4x4 or AWD.
+cpthemonstergamer I think you are referring to a Jeep Wrangler. Even then... most people who buy a new 4 door Wrangler rarely engage the 4wd anyway.

I just bought a used 2016 model 2.4 from carmax 4 months ago my only gripe is the oil consumption I have to top it off 🤭😣😪
Fuck yeah mikescarinfo
I put my pistol in the passenger side when I drive it...I took out the little strap out..added a different way to open it....
Anyone know how to change the screen background? It looks like a desert sand or something.... lol

How do I update my 2016 Jeep Cherokee latitude uconnect
At the dealership
MikesCarInfo I went to them and they keep saying they can’t do it and I went to uconnect and entered my vin number and it said my radio needs to be updated
MikesCarInfo and thanks for replying back
Understood. If I remember correctly... In 2016 Jeep had two different radios that looked basically the same. One was upgradable and the other wasn't.
I wonder in the 16 has troble with transmission
You quited vann underwood or you still got fired
AVELARDo Lara What?
+MikesCarInfo what he should really be asking you mike is if you speak gibberish, because that is what he's speaking. But to answer his question, I'm pretty sure you resigned to do RUclips full time right?
Anthony Ricchio I think he was using a translator program. Yes I left on good terms and highly recommend the dealership.
