It’s unfinished it needs to go completely around the room! An the shower needs a little more pressure it not enough for the rain drops shower head… Besides all that everything is looking fantastic many blessings 🇧🇧🇺🇸🇬🇭☮️❤️🤗

@kinzababe1 the outside toilet is poorly arranged. The shower is supposed to be at the end where you currently have the toilet, them the toilet where the sink is then the sink moved to the corner of the entrance door. So whem you open the door you have a sink, then toilet, then shower. And the window should be glazed with a frosty tint to make it not visible from outside. At the moment the sink is too close to the toilet seat looking at al the space you have in the outside toilet.
@nanabrimpong3485 This seems to have been an African setup I would never understand. When I first saw this in African bathrooms, I was like, who wants to sit on a wet toilet seat, you can tell this is a man set up, women don't think like having our butts wet...lol
Great job! You can get a pressure pump attached to your water before it comes to your house or even out to your yard. That’s what we did. Feel free to contact us if you need further explanation but to use those nice showers heads you will definitely need more pressure. Ask me how I know.😂 we didn’t have it when we came and we realized we needed more pressure and added it. It has really worked well for us. If your power is out, you will still be able to get your water flowing, but it just won’t have the pressure. Again great job. I love what you’re doing. I know it’s definitely not easy. From a design standpoint, instead of the shower bring in doorway, thinking I would have the shower and drain towards the back of the room and the toilet (in the middle) and the sink near the near the door. Everything coming off the left side of wall for a cleaner streamlined look and better functionality. Hope this is helpful❤ Us foodies wanted to see how that fried rice turned out! @kinzababe1 price never comes down in Ghana, in January its going up again further so don't be scared to do things, because the longer you wait the more expensive it gets. Now It's only the block work and plastering and little plumbing and wiring needed for that and before you know tiling and furnishings later and money for rents soon comes when done.
Yes I do understand it all depends on the carpenter. I have no plans right now so it needs to be finished. Some people don’t mind when they open their closet doors to an unfinished look not me it has to be completely finished. 🙏🏿🇬🇭🫶🏾
Congratulations on your lovely project! Great idea to be onsite as you finish up your details. If you’re onsite you will need electricity. Get your own small solar powered system going, and add on the govt electric program when it is available. You really want to be independent and safe while you are there in your home.

You could also decide to use thst spot for home office desk area instead and it needs the skirting, the other space next to the door could be your wardrobe area and dresser also. Or vice versa because its more spacious than the other area you reserved for wardrobe, or you can have both as wardrobes and put your work desk in the living area or next to the other window area.

Besides why does a small strip of tiles available from the leftovers to cover that little space now becomes a problem? And besides in abroad and even here in Ghana the entire room is covered with skirt. And besides its her home and she wants it done so why the audacity to tell her it's not necessary? Is it your room? Make sure the water pressure is strong in the shower & faucets! Other than that everything looks great! Question: Is the mason going to finish the stairs eventually? They look unfinished & have cracks & chunks of cement missing..they need to be smoothed out or are they going to be tiled eventually?

Don't feel bad, sis. Don't tap ECG alone. Don't do it. I learned my lesson the hard way. By law, in Ghana, when you install ECG poles, you only have it for 24 hours, after which, it basically belongs to everyone. I spent a ton of money to connect 3 phase electricity pole to my house, and now it's benefitting a lot of people building around me. They expect me to bring water so they can tap for free. Unfortunately, i couldn't dig a borehole because of the salt content. building by the ocean. If you can do solar and buy yourself sometime, pls do it. Pls try to use the phrase " some Ghanaians." Not all Ghanaians build uncompleted structures. Sorry, most of us believe in the power of completion. Hahahah! i just want to set the record straight. I think you have a sizable number of Ghanaian subscribers who are genuinely happy for you. Congratulations.
Both of you are correct. You can finish the wall and add a closet or the closet can be added to the unfinished wall since no one will see the back wall. I like finishing before adding the closet. Beautiful work.

Beautiful show and tell! I think the reason they leave the skirting in the wardrobe area is that the skirting takes up space and the wardrobe cannot fit snugly into the wall...so the wood does not lie on the wall because of the skirting.....I hope you get what I am trying to say😅😅😅

Kinza, hope all is well with you, much blessings. Although Sola is a good option, once electricity is available, it is better to get the electricity to your house. Electricity is much cheaper, the national grid is getting more robust and reliable, pretty soon if you live in an area where electricity is available sola will not even be considered. People talking about sola but they don’t tell you how expensive it is to install to supply a basic three bedroom house. From my personal experience, if you don’t need sola, don’t even consider it, it will take you almost twenty years to recover your investment. With sola you might say , I don’t have electricity bills, not thinking you have already paid you bills up front.
Is the wall in the back be the same height as the side cause it's looking low. Does that pump has enough pressure from my observation it looks like you need a little more water pressure.
Remember my house is on a hill so looking down it will look low. The water pressure is all gravity. I know I will need a small if I want strong water 🚿 pressure but not right now.🙏🏿🇬🇭🫶🏾

Hi Kinza your your project is looking awesome. How are going inclosed the washroom s in the apartments . I noticed that they are completely open, are you going to put a glass door/partition? My opinion concerning the wardrobe. The apartment is unfinished if the wardrobe is not completed with a door for instance. Keep up the good work. Compliments to the season.

@kinzababe1 the tanks need to be drained and cleaned completely before you install he new filters. You shouldn't change filters before cleaning the tanks, same procedure as the cars. You drain the oil, put new folter before pouring new oil, same applies to the water tank. For the outside toilet the shower is meant to be where the toilet is a the end, then the toilet is supposed to be in the middle and the hand wash at the entrance. You cannot have a shower before sink then toilet at end, that way if someone has a shower the whole floor is wet and the toilet cannot be used. Berst to swap them around in the correct sequence. From entrance, its sink, then toilet and shower at the end in corner. Mush better loke this.
I wanted the sink outside so the shower 🚿 could fit nicely but they didn’t listen at all. They just couldn’t get it, because I added the shower after they acted like it made things so complicated for them. After I saw that they still put the sink inside I just left it because it’s just something for someone to wash off after a day work.🙏🏿🇬🇭🫶🏾
@kinzababe1 Kinza it still needs to be done properly, I am sorry, but it's your property and excuse me to day most of these guys not modern inclined and some live in old style houses or come from villages and some are used to the old jack and Jill seperate bathrooms so they don't get the concept. This external bathroom could serve as a washroom also in future should you have a swimming pool there where people would come to pay to use. Look at the big picture and don't allow them to dictate for you, if they do it their way, have them remove it and correct it. Else they would always mess up. It's your building your house your rules. Do it your way kinza not thier way, its not thier home but yours.
@kinzababe1 please if you can have them switch everything around. Because the whole floor will be wet once someone takes a shower and someone else needs to go through the wet floor just to use the toilet is very wrong setup. Best to have shower in the end, toilet in middle and sink near the door.

I would say it depends on the caliber of Ghanaian who don't complete skirting inside wardrobes. It's about adhering to higher standards. Super Shady probably hasn't been exposed to certain things. Definitely the skirting inside the wardrobe needs to be done. Otherwise, obviously it will look tacky and incomplete. Stick to your own sensibility Kinza.

A closet would go in there and it's unnecessary. It is wooden and covers up the whole space and would not be visible to the eyes

By law, in Ghana, when you install ECG poles, you only have it for 24 hours, after which, it basically belongs to everyone. I spent a ton of money to connect 3 phase electricity pole to my house, and now it's benefitting a lot of people building around me. They expect me to bring water so they can tap for free. Unfortunately, i couldn't dig a borehole because of the salt content. building by the ocean. If you can do solar and buy yourself sometime, pls do it. Pls try to use the phrase " some Ghanaians." Kinza, hope all is well with you, much blessings. Although Sola is a good option, once electricity is available, it is better to get the electricity to your house. Electricity is much cheaper, the national grid is getting more robust and reliable, pretty soon if you live in an area where electricity is available sola will not even be considered. People talking about sola but they don’t tell you how expensive it is to install to supply a basic three bedroom house. From my personal experience, if you don’t need sola, don’t even consider it, it will take you almost twenty years to recover your investment. With sola you might say , I don’t have electricity bills, not thinking you have already paid you bills up front.

@kinzababe1 the tanks need to be drained and cleaned completely before you install he new filters. You shouldn't change filters before cleaning the tanks, same procedure as the cars. You drain the oil, put new folter before pouring new oil, same applies to the water tank.
For the outside toilet the shower is meant to be where the toilet is a the end, then the toilet is supposed to be in the middle and the hand wash at the entrance. You cannot have a shower before sink then toilet at end, that way if someone has a shower the whole floor is wet and the toilet cannot be used. Berst to swap them around in the correct sequence. From entrance, its sink, then toilet and shower at the end in corner. Mush better loke this.
I wanted the sink outside so the shower 🚿 could fit nicely but they didn’t listen at all. They just couldn’t get it, because I added the shower after they acted like it made things so complicated for them. After I saw that they still put the sink inside I just left it because it’s just something for someone to wash off after a day work.🙏🏿🇬🇭🫶🏾
@kinzababe1 Kinza it still needs to be done properly, I am sorry, but it's your property and excuse me to day most of these guys not modern inclined and some live in old style houses or come from villages and some are used to the old jack and Jill seperate bathrooms so they don't get the concept. This external bathroom could serve as a washroom also in future should you have a swimming pool there where people would come to pay to use. Look at the big picture and don't allow them to dictate for you, if they do it their way, have them remove it and correct it. Else they would always mess up. It's your building your house your rules. Do it your way kinza not thier way, its not thier home but yours.
@kinzababe1 please if you can have them switch everything around. Because the whole floor will be wet once someone takes a shower and someone else needs to go through the wet floor just to use the toilet is very wrong setup. Best to have shower in the end, toilet in middle and sink near the door.
