Thanks for sharing. Styling info was good but .....Azaleas I find really difficult. Given up to be honest. I have tried no less than 18 small azaleas as bonsai. They must be very sensitive to moisture levels? I have tried them in different lighting conditions around the garden as well. Potted in pure kanuma(as I read to do), tried mixing moss and kanuma, tried mixing ericaseous compost with kanuma, tried standard bonsai mix with added kanuma but they never last more than 8 months. I'll be sticking to the native species now.
Hey! I did this quite a few times. You have chosen a variety with small leaves: I think that's wise for a shohin size bonsaï. I always repot after flowering: growing power of these plants are the strongest in this period. Repotting right before flowering, I never heard of that or saw it (even after several decades of taking care of bonsaï). Early spring, yes but then you should not be dissapointed when there's no flowering. But right before flowering with even swelling flower budds? What's the idea behind that? Second: I'm also amazed about the soil mixture. Don't get me wrong but it's quite generally known that Azalea's prefer a rather acidic mixture, for instance with a lot of kanuma or at least specialized potting soil, for Azalea's etcetera. If the mixture is not acidic enough, the plant will have trouble to absorp its essential feedings. Greetings and good luck!
Hi! Good points. We should have used Kanuma (we usually blend kanuma with our standard bonsai soil mix). And I did not care about flowering at all in this case for a tree in development - otherwise pruning would be done right after the flowering period.
Aussie Dave here, fantastic work. I have downloaded your bonsai app 😂. I also have an azalea which thanks to you this one should survive 😮😅
So nice of you!
I really like the shape on this I have an azalea that I think I’m going to cascade
Très belle démonstration.merci

Thanks you for sharing bonsai
❤️🔥BONSAI💎EMPIRE❤️🔥
what type of Azalea is this? i tried to google it but there are so many different ones🤔
Can it be kept indoors?
No. Most trees can not. Only tropical species, such as Ficus, can survive indoors.
@@Cory_J thank you!
With a bushy tree like this won't a broom style be easier ?
Yes I think that would be the only other choice for this tree, but I liked the semi-cascade shape better in this case.
Why dont you use kanuma soil?
I should have - it is better for the Azalea.
Genial
Thanks! :)
👍👌🙂
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
