Recreating the Achilles cutscene from Domonion War got me all nostalgic. It was the first Star Trek game I ever played. For many years, I've hoped that beautiful ship could make its way to Star Trek Online.
This is making me want to go back and play Dominion Wars all over again. For as much of a rough game and buggy mess it was, it was the closest we got to a full space Dominion War game. The nostalgia with their attention to the intro sequences is incredible
Seriously? I would not object the Premonition wiping out the timelines of Picard and Discovery as both are in direct VIOLATION to the temporal high directive. Those 2 things are alternate timelines that did NOT fix themselfs.

As one of the few players who sat in the lobby of Startrek Armada, saying goodbye to everyone the day the servers finally went offline. . . seeing the Premonition again tugged at my heart.
I would pay real money for a modern dominion war. You know, aside from the Outstanding Armada 3 Mod for Sins of a solar empire. That mod btw is the benchmark in terms of fidelity and accuracy for ships and effects.
Almost matching, the gemini effect was ironically better looking and sounding in the original armada intro, plus the sovereign looked infinitely more badass unloading pain into the locutus cube, it's amazing just what difference you can get by having the phaser strip energy build up and some longer firing beams over STOs mmo style generic pew pew beams.
Man this is so fucking awesome! The logo at the beginning like in the activision game, the gemini effect from the premo, the achilles with the dorsal quantum launchers and pulse cannons, the defensive mode of the typhon and then the fusion cube :O
The Starfleet Command games would be a good source. Wouldn't mind getting the Ark Royal Carrier and Yamato Battleship. And maybe the Lexington Command Cruiser from Klingon Academy. (I know we have the Ody variant Lexington but still...)

HOLY FRAK! THIS IS AWESOME! I played two out of three of those games and I recognized the abilities used! Gemini Effect from Armada, Torpedo Phalanx from Dominion Wars, and while I haven't played Invasion I saw Fortress Mode on the Typhon.
The typhon is actually present in the Star trek armada 3 mod for Sins of a solar empire, has been there for a while too, complete with it's Valkyrie fighters.
The premonition and fusion cube brought back some huge memories. I remember how long it took to make that cube and when you finally did, just decimated everything.
Star Trek: Armada, Star Trek: Armada 2, Star Trek: Invasion and Star Trek: Dominion Wars are all saying hello from the past. Fascinating. And surprising. Especially for that nod to "The Last Starfighter".
"Resistance is never futile" would probably hit a bit better if it wasn't for the fact that, aside from the Federation and Undine, thousands of civilisations unfortunately found out the hard way that resistance is often quite futile indeed.

@@Tuskin38 Not true at all, you're making excuses just like them. There's over 40 KDF ships not playable that's already in the game. The KDF allies have a lot of ships. We can't fly them or get T6 versions. Why? We're never know. It will Cost STO nothing. Just make the playable and put a price. They're just lazy. be honest.
I nearly fell off my chair when I saw the announcement and the picture of the Typhoon. But I always thought it was larger, it's so tiny! This makes me very happy with STO. And best part, they aren't hidden behind lockboxes!

No, it just means the Typhon Class itself exists in Star Trek Online. The blog about the bundle mentions Star Trek: Invasion, but only in the context of explaining where the ship actually originated from. The store usually includes some basic in-universe backstory on a ship class and its features, so we'll have to wait until that's available to see if the events of the game are referenced.
This the kind of release they need to be doing for new content in the game all the time. This was a fantastic trailer pulling on the old nostalgia strings for games of days gone by. They did extremely well in recreating the ships and the mechanics of them. Let the art team do the promotional material online and you get the hype building nicely. Then drop a trailer like this and you'll see the sales go up. This trailer has to be one of the most liked that they have ever done

I am 100% legitimately freaking out, The Premonition has always been one of my favourite beta canon ships, Both in look/design and story/personality- And it’s a legitimate relief that, even if classified, Her and her crew’s sacrifice (their entire timeline/quite likely their existence) -is- remebered. Also from the ingame store description, it’s nice to see TBI/the TDI giving a little sympathy to the “perp” of a temporal incursion, especially given the stakes…

I am 100% legitimately freaking out,
The Premonition has always been one of my favourite beta canon ships,
Both in look/design and story/personality-
And it’s a legitimate relief that, even if classified,
Her and her crew’s sacrifice (their entire timeline/quite likely their existence) -is- remebered.
Also from the ingame store description, it’s nice to see TBI/the TDI giving a little sympathy to the “perp” of a temporal incursion, especially given the stakes…
