I think this episode is one of the better eps in showcasing the Haskells dynamic and how and why they work in their own way. I feel like this one respected them as “real” characters vs playing them off as a joke, even though everyone was funny. You see what a truly caring person Freddie is. He tried his hardest to turn things around for Hank, and he had the best intentions. Gert is so sweet and kind-hearted and I’m so glad we get to see her actually parent Freddie in this - I love when we see her as a mother. And Eddie is Eddie.... in the best way. My favorite part is how he and Gert, being almost polar opposites, had the same advice for their son. Great job on the writing for this episode. And the end- THAT is the Eddie Haskell we all know and love. Yes he is a creep and selfish and chaotic. But he has his truly good side too and I rejoice whenever we get to see it!

I don’t want to forget the Cleavers in this. They are as caring and wonderful as always. I love how they also took in Hank and tried their hardest to help him. And the end with Wally and the Beaver was so lovely! It reminded me of the classic show with humor and genuine values. And I am forever tickled pink that Beaver is the more financially successful brother- not that Wally doesn’t make a comfortable living. But there are a couple of episodes that refer to this and I just have to cheer Beaver Cleaver on from seeing him go from lazy student as a kid to such a hard worker as an adult- I love that writing choice so much.

I LOVE this episode!! For some reason this is one of the eps I only saw a couple of times so I had extreme vague memories. I remember everyone looking at Kelly after the “naming your horse after a living president” part. I remember Eddie putting a smile on Freddie’s face at the end of the ep. And that was about it. What a delight to see it again! Thank you so much Scott!!! 💗

This is where Freddie learns one of life's harshest lessons about other people. Ya can't make em change, they gotta do it themselves. Unfortunately, Hank never did which is kind of a waste. Plus Freddie doesn't have the skills or resources to take care of homeless Hank. So that's a lesson for ya.
