You’ll be pleased to know I actually had a little chat with the guitars after filming. We met up at a cozy little bar downtown-classy place, dim lighting, live jazz in the corner. The Stratocaster ordered an old-fashioned, the Telecaster went for a whiskey neat, and the Les Paul-always a diva-demanded a top-shelf bourbon. We spent hours reminiscing about the day. They told me they appreciated the way I handled them, even complimented my “firm but caring” grip. At one point, the Strat started cracking jokes about being more photogenic than the Tele, and we all burst out laughing. Honestly, if there was any disrespect in the air, it got drowned out by good drinks and even better company. By the end of the night, they were leaning against each other, singing Hotel California slightly off-key, and I was left with the bar tab. But hey, it’s all in good fun. Rest assured, the guitars felt respected, admired, and maybe just a little bit buzzed.

John Frederick Lewis RA (1804-1876) was an English Orientalist painter. He specialized in Oriental and Mediterranean scenes in detailed watercolour or oils, very often repeating the same composition in a version in each medium.[1] He lived for several years in a traditional mansion in Cairo, and after his return to England in 1851 he specialized in highly detailed works showing both realistic genre scenes of Middle Eastern life and more idealized scenes in upper-class Egyptian interiors with little apparent Western influence. The painting is very much in his geogrpahical area but the subject matter is not his. I presume you blocked out the woman due to nudity. In all the Lewis work that I have seen there was never any nudity, lots of beutiful women but none naked or even partially so. I would strongly suggest finding a local art historian to go back and check it out, you never know. That frame in itself tells a story. I tried screen grabbing your image but the sun and angle made it impossible to do a proper Google image search. Worth a try IMHO.... some of his paintings do depict "harem" life and slavery

Case was an opportunity but the Duo Sonic was not a stellar deal. (Unless it was the one Jimi Hendrix traded in for his White Strat, thanks to humble guitar tech/salesman Jeff Baxter!)
I keep replaying in my head that since the Duo Sonic seller offered both for the Gibson acoustic and the Fender for 3,000.... right then and there I probably could have offered maybe $2500? Then sold the Fender for 3k and still have the Gibson acoustic...but I also realize that's A LOT of "ifs" haha so probably wouldn't have happened. And you're right, overall it wasn't a good deal.

@@IAM_Reedyagreed. Way too little profit to tie up that much capital. Between eBay fees, taxes and operating overhead it would be easy to lose money on that deal.
@@CampingGearReport I see them listed for prices like that on Reverb but I have a hard time believing people will spend that much on a truly low end short scale guitar. If ebay takes 13% of a sale, $3K for that guitar is a $110 profit buying it for $2500. There are Les Paul Studios for $1000-1250 or LP specials for $1500---massively more guitar than a Duo Sonic.

I always dream away by walking down a flea market and discover Gibson korina moderne...... am i dreaming again? 😮
Should’ve typed in and checked out the painting 🖼️ price to expand the viewership.
I tried to look it up and the Google reverse image search came back with nothing. So there's nothing on the internet that Google could match that painting to, so I'm not too sure what to think of it. 🤔🤔🤔
Seems odd to me they leave $6000 guitars out in the sun leaning up against the fender of a truck in only a gig bag.
To the people whose job it is to clean out storage units / estate sales, a guitar is just another thing to sell for them at the flea market.
Expensive items, but great stories.
I thought Mr. king played an ES 335
He sure did. All the pics I've seen him playing, they were a Gibson ES-335. So him playing a DeArmond...I have my doubts.
$7500 for 90s dearmond m75, guys is tripping
Wow if that Lewis painting is legit it probably would bring millions. I remain highly skeptical.
Great video! thanks for sharing,,,, so hows about your inventory,,, ;-)
most interesting thing at a flea market is the stories.😅
I start sweating when I don't find a deal and then I end up buying something stupid like a replica route 66 sign
Store or no store, you ain't gonna be in business long if you pay $2500 for a 1957 Duo Sonic.
But it sold for $3,000.....I don't understand your comment.
Your time, fuel, listing, storage, selling fees… you would have profited $200… maybe.
I miss the old flea market prices before everyone had eBay in their pocket lol
won't find anything like that here in florida
There are so many used guitars out there yet ppl still buy new ones.
14 millions paintings right on the concrete 😂😂😂😂
I think that guy with the Duo-Sonic had a friend buy it at that price just to spite you.
The Gretch was worth 3 I would of bought it for that with case 👍
Those De Armonds are awful. I had one, worst guitar. The neck bolts kept coming very loose because the screw holes were stripped.
Wasnt even worth the parts in it
BB King Guitar 😂😂😂
More BASS please!
I always have a spare $14,000,000 to buy a flea market “original” painting
I was on the fence about that painting. I thought it looked "cool" and would look nice in my man cave....but I wasn't sure if he was going to accept my offer of $9,000,000 and I didn't want to lowball him. He might have gotten offended at my offer.
