In my blue sanctuary state of Oregon we banned the reading and writing proficiency exam in order for our high school seniors to graduate. This gives our POC students a greater opportunity to attend higher education and live the dream of becoming the next generation of doctors, lawyers and scientist. This is why I will always vote blue.

Many legal scholars recognize the fact that Brown v Board of Education was a flawed Supreme Court ruling. Legal scholars point to the vagueness of the ruling. The court use the term, “with all deliberate speed.” This raised the question as to what constituted all deliberate speed. Did this involve a minute, an hour, a day, a week, a month or perhaps even 10 years to implement? The Supreme Court had to revisit and clarify this ruling at at least three times.
Many in our Democrat party such as James Eastland of Mississippi were strongly opposed. Senator Harry Bird, Democrat of Virginia invoked the Massive Resistance movement in opposition to this ruling. Our Democrat party has a terrible legacy of slavery and separation of the races.
