11:28 starts talking about the 6 things she wished she knew. This is just a short summery of the 6: 1. There is no right one way to read. It's about intuition. 2. It's ok if you see something different in the cards than what you have learned from books. Connecting with cards/intuition is key. Use book knowledge as a foundation and trust what you see in the cards. 3. Tarot is not just about fortune telling. You can use them for coaching, therapy- tapping into subconscious 4. You don't have to master every esoteric system. Integrate what you know if you know another system, but really just start reading. 5. You don't have to be psychic. You have different skills and talents that you can bring to your readings. 6. Just breathe and have fun! Recap at 21:21
I was obsessed with learning the definition of each and every card lol then after couple of years, I realized that sticking to 2-3 words for each cards definitely helped me along with following my intuition. I see tarot as a guide and not telling the future also. Sometimes it encourages you and can motivate you. It can make you see a situation differently also.
07:11 I'm currently in the phase of CONSTANTLY consulting the book for guidance and clarification, even though I have a relatively good foundation of what they all mean. But somehow, once I start pulling cards and pairing them, I "forget" meanings or get stuck on what ELSE they have to share, as if I'm missing some layers to their meaning. I'm frustrated that I just can't seem to "swim on my own" yet so I appreciate you sharing your knowledge on this topic.
I was (still am) like that also. But I surprised myself recently when I pulled cards (for no one, I just pulled cards to practice) and I tried to read the cards without reading definitions. After I did the reading, following my intuition, I went back to the definitions and turns out I was right! Just force yourself to read without books or anything, you'll be surprised :)
I been reading tarot since i was 18 then stopped once i had kids so now that they are big i started again and have been reading since 2016 and what i found out is that I ALWAYS think my readings are wrong because they dont match the same as another readers.... but when I do a reading for someone and just do what my intuition tells me to do my readings make sense and are accurate....... MORAL OF THE STORY..... stop watching all these tarot tutorial and thinking yours are wrong and just read for people... it will be great!!!!! Dont get me wrong I STILL WATCH TAROT TUTORIALS LOL but when i do i hear that voice telling me “ YOU ARE WRONG AGAIN! YOUR READINGS ARE NOT THE SAME “ So when i hear that ill stop watching or tell that voice to “SIT DOWN AND BE QUIET!!!”
i've been reading for a month so i am still using a keyword deck and i feel like i don't trust myself , i guess that is normal.. i even heard myself in my head , am i making this up? lol i am doing all i can to trust myself and know i will get there
