stuck with a cloudburst 2023 is350 :( , my dealers here in cali have a 20k mark up on 500s :( that sounds so DISGUSTING I LOVE IT good for you brother. In 3 years I will have one
hello, im considering to get a similar system for my RCf, but I have one question, how do you control the valves? it is related to the mode the car is in or there's a serpate control?
What could one expect to pay for installation of this exhaust since where are valves to probably be wired up etc? Also do you live in a snow state as I wonder if the valves will work after a few winters of road salt on them?
I've got the IS500 launch Edition & want a catback exhaust that has oem looking tips. I had the Borla S-Type on my STI it sounded great & looked like oem. Sucks Borla doesn't make anything for IS500 they did for ISF, GSF & RCF.
How’s the drone on the highway when the valves are open? Saw that you said there’s drone when it’s closed. Also, did you guys opt in to get the high flow cat converter too? If so, which one did y’all get? That color is sick af btw!
Hey I just saw your comment on the other video! So we just got a full Catback exhaust without Cats. So the IS500 comes with two cats. One right after the down pipe and one right before the muffler. We basically replaced everything after the first cat.
The car comes with two catalytic converters! One at the down pipes and another at the mid pipe, we got a Catback exhaust that replaced everything behind the cat by the down pipe. So we basically removed one cat from the mid pipe
I honestly think the is500 accelerates just slightly faster! That is if we ignore launch control. The RCF although is much larger than the is500, is more nimble because of its F suspension. Both ride qualities are almost indistinguishable!
@@MRSKY60 yep we did full Catback exhaust. So we changed everything behind the first Cat/down pipe. You should def get the GThaus exhaust and go for the full Catback!
Is the color iridium? Also, how's the drone with the valves closed on the highway? Was considering this or the apex exhaust but am worried the drone would be too loud for longer trips. Amazing car bro
The color is Atomic Silver! There is drone with the valves closed on the highway and I’ll be honest, if you’re in the back seat, you’re not gonna be able to hear what people in the front seat are talking about lol. It’s one of the downsides to going for more affordable exhausts. The Apexi exhaust is great but the sound just isn’t there. The aggressive notes just don’t hit the same with that exhaust 😭 they amazing quality products tho.
@@thai_icedtea Thanks for the reply :) Sucks but at least I'll primarily only have a front passenger. Ya, I agree on the apex exhaust too, however the non resonated sounds wayyy better. Too poor to get the gthaus exhaust doe. Def going to look into it. Appreciate it man 👍
@@thai_icedtea Honesty about drone with an exhaust?! You da real MVP! Sounds killer in the vid tho, and while I'm a HUGE fan of USB 2.0 that Atomic Silver is gorgeous. The body lines pop with that color.
@@thai_icedteaso reading this you have drone with the valves closed and it’s loud in the back seat as well? How about drone when they are open or is it to loud to highway drive for hours with it at full send on the sound level lol?
I've been driving it stock for roughly two months now, but have always wanted this exhaust. Have you had any issues after the install? My only worry is dealing with the dealership and the warranty when going in for scheduled maintenance.
So for about 2-3 weeks the car was throwing a code but it went away permanently. We still took the car to the dealer and they have no problem at all with it. For the most part the dealers don’t care about the exhaust being changed when you finance it. It’s only when it’s a lease that they would bat an eye
@@thai_icedtea I really appreciate the insight. I know certain dealerships are more lenient than others about modifications. I turned off ASC last week and I'm looking forward to getting that aggressive exhaust note
@@thai_icedteaJust to add to your point, the dealer has absolutely no right or control over anything you do with your car once you finance it. They've already been paid in full and it's the bank you owe. If they say anything or void any unrelated warranties, it's a violation of owners rights. Awesome vid BTW, can't wait to get this exhaust on mine.
They're not allowed to void your warranty because you changed a part. They would have to prove that your modification is what caused the problem for them to not cover it. There's all kinds of buyer/owner protection laws about this stuff. I would research it in your state
We were thinking about it! But we have heard complaints of the engine bay getting too hot, also it throwing codes to prevent inspection passes. We welcome tips and feedback if you have on getting past it!!
I wouldn't necessarily say the engine bay gets hotter what you can do to mitigate that is get the headers ceramic coated and then you can wrap them with a heat wrap when they go on it basically controls the heat that an open header without any coatings on or wrapping would put off in the engine bay. You guys are in New York so I don't know about the whole visual portion of your emissions. I'm in Colorado they don't do visual inspections but I still pass emissions because I still have on a secondary pair of catalytic converters in my exhaust system on my ISF so in that aspect the car will pass tailpipe emissions it just comes down to the visual inspection of your state.
Sounds amazing! I just got my IS500 on Sunday. I will probably do the exhaust thing in a few years and keep mine simple stock for now.
Congrats!! Ayeee let’s gooooo
After a year I upgraded the exhuast system on my 2015 Rc F and it sounds infinitely better than stock! Enjoy!
This is damn near a commercial for the shop. Nice video
Dude, I've owned a is 350 for more than a decade. Seeing what can be done with the 500 has encouraged me to get my own!
