When Chazz talked about Mrs. Anderson telling him not to give up on Prince and to all stay together, he had me well up with tears. I wish P kept his old fold around him. you can trust Morris and Jerome and Terri and Jimmy and Monte moir and Susanna and her sister Wendy Dez Dickerson all these cats! Now of course he wanted to switch bands and get a new sound and different things like that okay! But keep the same friends that you've always had in life that's what people do that's what everybody does Prince! For the simple fact it's hard to trust the newcomers in life so you hold on to the people that you grew up with and that you know that will have your back.

Thank you Prince Podcast for bringing this interview and special thanks to Chazz for sharing his perspective and insight on the recent news of no charges in Prince’s death and I support him wholeheartedly in continuing getting justice for Prince, there is still others involved and enablers that got Prince the deadly fentanyl, and it all will come to light one of these days.

I sense Chazz is sincere about his love for Prince 💜. I hope he finds what he’s looking for. I understand his dislike of the police sharing the records being family and being close to Prince,but as an outsider, I appreciate it. I feel the public can investigate on our own, and seeing Prince’s body is also important. He was physically beautiful, and it’s sad seeing him like that, but it wasn’t gruesome and we need to see everything to fully assess the situation. No one can change my respect and appreciation of his art. Prince was a remarkable artist.

I feel for Chazz. He lost a family member. I agree that someone close to Prince went out and got the counterfeit vicodon pills with the fentanyl in them. I believe that the person closest to him got the pills and give them to Prince. Thete needs to be accountability!
maybe his shady sister and her husband got the street fentanyl for him after they said they were with him few hours before he passed away, they are suspect too.

b g - Yes, if Prince had a chronic illness, why not tell. There is no shame if he had cancer, heart condition, some organ failure, etc. This appears to be a murder cover up with all the conflicting and contradictory explanations.

Very interesting, I sincerely hope Mr. Smith gets justice for Prince. As an admirer of Prince, I think someone needs to be held accountable for his passing. I’m heartbroken to lose him this young. b g I understand it is confusing to me. The other week tyka was on an interview. The news lady asked her. Where was she when she first got the news.Tyka said I don't know that was two years ago. Before she answered. I know exactly where I was and how I reacted. I don't understand her at all.I lost my brother and it was so hard for me.And my siblings. We had an autopsy done .We wanted answers. Just like Chazz does. It's unfortunate he wasn't his brother. I watched a body language expert here on you tube and she said that Tyka is lying. She had him cremated so fast. Prince gave us so much great music and he deserves so much better. Then this treatment this case has received.

Some days it hits me Prince is no longer with us, and it hits me like it was yesterday I heard he passed. I shared my life with him, his music got me through high school, breakups, prom, my first job, turning 21, and turning 30. I thought I would get to grow old w him in the world. He was a very rare man, a TRUE musician. I hope he knew how much we appreciated him sharing his talent with us, and I still feel joy when I hear his music. I hope the people who got the counterfeit pills pay- most of us have a good idea who it was. RIP Prince, we were blessed to share your world and thank you!

S Baul one week before the 2nd death anniversary of Prince's death, tmz and other news outfit online released the video of Prince's lifeless body inside paisley park near the elevator but they had it blurred with respect to prince. But some other news outfit showed it the clear photos of prince lifeless body and it just disrespectful. When I saw the photos, I immediately dm paisley park enterprise if they could do something about those photos starting to escalate the internet. Millions of fans of prince don't want to see him like that. I didn't received any reply from ppi. As a fan of prince, there's so much you can do.
With the international Prince Fam at PP at that time, why is it that PP did not reply to ur inquiry? or make some statement at the time. And I still question WHO was it, making decisions to release these pics, that were above the Carter PD and again WHY? and WHY at that particular time? Seems to me that while we were at a "Celebration" during Prince's death anniversary, someone was rubbing a killing/murder in our faces.

I only met dear Prince once accidentally at a major shopping center where he walked over to me and placed my hands in his hands and I was wondering: "Who is this man and why is he holding my hands?" Finally dawned on me that "that was Prince." I'm an old lady and was mostly into gospel music. After I met him, I decided to find out more about him and that was a couple of years before he passed. I still feel this pull to Prince and I don't know why. BUT, I miss him and I will never forget that meeting. Yes, I miss dear Prince.

I never thought about the fact people are so ignorant about addiction and dependency that they are ashamed to think he was addicted. I figured so many people put Prince on a pedestal of idealization, which really limits as well as objectives the depth of feeling you can have, so they didn't want to relinquish that image. I think he was a person with some extraordinary components and that is to be admired and enjoyed. However he was just a man, a human at the end of the day. So many people are addicted to behavior patterns and that is not recognized. Well no wonder if they can't even face chemical dependency created by outward substances rather than behaviors generating dopamine spikes and serotonin. It's such ashame to be ashamed of information that could free us to pursue health and wellness instead of denial. I think most people have faced some abuse. Mr.Smith is coping with denial instead of understanding people try their best even when that's not appropriate but you don't have to excuse bad behavior. A lot of older parenting styles are lazy just as they are now. Older was fear confused for respect in authoritarian styles and now they are neglectful via permissiveness more often. The hardest most labour intensive aspects of relationships including parenting is emotional labor of teaching, showing, helping other identify and explore their emotions and then how to properly respond to them. Abuse creates a foundation for susceptibility to addiction. You may be more predisposed to taking abuse harder than the next person or face much more frequent or intense abuse. No matter what type of situation it is, we need to understand the way we cope as children with traumatic experience and inappropriate behavior from adults does create patterns that if not dealt with will make us more vulnerable to addictions. Then you add physical ailments on top of that it just increases the risk factors. It's no shame unless you were the abusive person, in which case, shame is only good if it motivates change. Otherwise, I love my people enough to say they did the best the could, did very well in certain areas but funked up badly in others. Often doing what they were shown by ill-equipped adults to do as children themselves. We have to be willing to call it like it is on others to then take our own responsibility in hand. Great interview though. I feel saddened by how many people will do mental gymnastics rather than the work of facing reality. Going through is the only way out.

I so admire him for all his effords. There are questions that need to be answered no doubt. If nothing else he is raising awareness and that in it's self is super important. Awareness of the Opioid epidemic and awareness that someone needs to be held responsible for Prince's death.
and on top of all that so thrilling to hear Chazz talk about the early days and how things were back then. How determined Prince was to be a great musician. Their is something very genuine about Chazz and his attitude about it all. There's no BS with that man.. He speaks it on how it is.

Peace to you, Mr. Charles Chazz Smith, Little Charles, if I may. I was just reading about fentanyl this morning in regards to Prince. I wanted to know about it.You used a wonderful word: compassion. Pain is no joke, and I think it is very easy to get addicted to pain medicine. This is so sad to me, even at this time. I have had Prince on the brain for several days for some reason. Far too often some people use the word genius. Coming from a classical musical background, Beethoven being one of my favorite composers, I thought where were they in my lifetime. People play the music of the Classical composers for hundreds of years. Then I heard the great Jazz musicians, Louis Armstrong, Sarah Vaughan, etc., and then....Prince. Learning about him, the many instruments he taught himself to play- his vision. I truly wish I could have known him. He was a Musician's Musician. That is a small group. There are those who are good, very good, and then...... There is Genius. You know it when you see it. I have always thought it was a beautiful thing. Truly a Beautiful Artist that encompassed Genius: Mr. Prince Rogers Nelson.
Great interview with Chazz. It's clear that Prince was caught up in a deadly cycle of pain management from performing, you could see as early as 2000 there was serious injury. This is a common story that could and does happen to anyone of us. I always felt that Prince was one of the strongest of men both physically & mentally, but in the end he was human. Tom Petty died the following year taking fentanyl for performance injuries.

Charles Chazz Smith you are a class act. Prince was murdered and he thought he was taking one thing and it was another. He would never have taken his life.
Bottom line, those who loved and respected this man and his phenomenal talent just want the truth.
If someone has an addiction, there's no damn thing that anyone else - neither a partner, a close friend nor a relative - can say to persuade them not to do it. They have to WANT to stop it themselves and it can take them many attempts and they may even die trying, as we all so heartbreakingly witnessed with Prince. Addicts will make all sorts of promises - to themselves and to others... just one more, just for today, I'll stop tomorrow, I swear! I need it today because X, Y, Z... I know I did this with cigarettes for more than half my life and I'm still doing it with sugar to this day, although trying to kick it on a daily basis. God help me if I ever got addicted to opioids! We know Prince was behaving like this from Judith's statement. He said he needed the drugs or he wouldn't be able to play the piano because of the pain in his hands. Whether he actually HAD any pain in his hands is neither here nor there. One musician says that to another musician, for whom music is their very life?! What are they going to do? So I guess what I'm saying is this: we can't judge Prince's close circle of friends, fellow musos and employees so harshly for not stopping him taking the drugs... I mean, for all those folks who think they'd have been able to stop him, what makes you think he would have heeded your advice? I'm pretty sure, with all his wit and charm, he'd have been able to manipulate most people into doing his bidding, at least for a little while. Imagine it's an hour before showtime in a huge stadium and he's complaining to you of extreme pain. If you've never worked in showbiz, you need to know that the "show must go on" mindset is a very real thing and most people adhere to it, especially old-school performers. There's too much money at stake. You can't afford to be ill; you can't just ring in sick. Well, you can, in only two cases: you essentially need to be entirely incapable of singing a note or you need to be in a state that you need to be stretchered out of the theatre. If Prince needed the drugs to help him keep on doing all the things we loved him so much for, do you really think he'd have listened to you telling him no? That's illusory Hollywood-movie thinking, that is. Hell, I bought my own father a packet of cigarettes in his last few weeks of life, even as his lungs were filling with fluid from heart failure caused by years of smoking. What are you going to do when someone tells you it's the only pleasure they have left in life? Are you going to deny them it? When they're looking at you with their big brown eyes? Like damn Puss in Boots from Shrek? Huh? There's a huuuuge moral dilemma involved in this, so I find it hard to throw a stone because I'm in a glass house myself. It's too easy to be self-righteous when you've never actually been in the situation yourself. I think he did, but I think he thought he was taking Vicodin or maybe Percocet. But I doubt he knew he was being given Fetynal as it’s the drug of death, and there are so many discrepancies about how, when and where he died
Art Full yea, Prince may have been taking pills, but he probably wouldn’t have overdosed if he knew what he was taking. No one will really know unless new info comes up and people come forward.

Sunnypie the the thing about that is he overdosed once and had stopped breathing on the airplane so was those pills he took then were laced fentanyl and Kirk Johnson knows all about it. So someone needs to be brought to justice just for getting Prince the deadly pill, not once but twice and the second made sure it did him in.

I felt he was sick and all I had no true connection but those we talked on Facebook. I wasn't close with anybody. I told those that I felt could help, that he was sick and that I would come and take care of him. I didn't care, because I was sure it would come across crazy. I didn't know what else I could do. So many holes in this case, however I don't believe the addict thing. Because of documents that there were bottle available right there @ PP. I still suspect foul play. I don't know if prince's half sister's and brother were aware of prince's health they never came forward and talked about Prince's death.But Tyka has said she worked for prince up until he died i;m sure she was aware of his health and what was going on.
