just wondering if you have a standing frame? I imagine if you use the leg braces for a long enough period of time (in standing or walking) than you will get some of the same benefits as a standing frame. Weight bearing and standing is so important for someone with a spinal cord injury. Thanks for showing us the leg braces and how you use them.

I am wondering if leg braces might help me with standing or maybe even allow me to walk a bit. Since I have significant loss of strength in my legs making weight bearing virtually impossible. Is their purpose soley to help keep your knees from bending and correct your feet posture or do they help at all with strength?
Some leg braces I saw go around the person's waist/hip area and I wonder if that helps derive some strength from the hips.

Sam, just tell yourself how much more productive you are. The positivity is within yourself...someone one telling a depressed person to be happy is like speaking to you in a language you don't understand. You have to be happy yourself. This was BEFORE his injury. If you have a complete spinal cord injury (meaning no messages can get beyond where the injured spinal cord is to the brain)...you are not getting anything back.

I’ve seen some videos that people post who say that they are paraplegics (paralyzed from the waist down) but they can walk, some using braces and some without, just crutches and sometimes without.. Then there are others who say that can’t walk at all. Why are some able to and others cannot? Can you walk without braces? Sorry for all the questions, I work with somebody who is a paraplegic (he can’t walk at all) but I’m curious and want to understand but I’m embarrassed to ask him all these questions. I’ve enjoyed your videos and I think it educates and brings awareness to people with disabilities. Thanks again and Happy Holidays.

Wouldn’t you be more mobile and faster in a wheelchair than walking with leg braces?

MDX GY yeah, for sure. But the leg braces are good for weight bearing and keeping up bone density, as well as stimulation. Plus, it is nice to stand at normal height again!

Wheelchair Ryder Yeah, that makes sense. It must take a lot of energy to walk in braces. How long/far can you walk in the?

I am not sure how far, but I can walk for a good 15-20 minutes before my arms feel like they are going to fall off!
