I made this cake for a close friend's birthday and the group's reaction was "wow you need to open a bakery!" I made a double quantity (6 eggs, 3 cups almond flour) for a 9 inch spring form pan and it turned out perfectly, baked at 350 F for 40 minutes. A couple of changes were that I swapped the cinnamon for cardamom, added some vanilla, and and reduced the sugar by 1/3. I also tried brushing the top with a simple syrup made with the orange juice leftover from the zested orange and it made it super moist and delicious. Highly recommend!

Also super moist. 9 inch pan 3C almonds, toasted, cooled, ground. 1 stick butter 2/3C sugar 7 eggs Dash vanilla Juice and zest of 1 lemon (sometimes 1 use orange) Cream the butter and sugar. Add eggs 1 at a time, beating after each one (no leavening). Then fold in zest and almonds. Juice is poured over cake when done, after poking holes in it

Anuradha Tempe , no frosting . The cake speaks for itself because of the amount of almonds . The traditional north Spanish recipe has only icing sugar on the top.

I bought mine but you can make your own almond meal by grinding the almonds using a coffee grinder or something similar. Just don’t grind too much as they will become almond butter. Thanks Ginnette!

Hi! If you noticed in the video mine also collapsed a bit, no worries. If yours collapsed too much, try reducing the oven temperature. Hope it helps.

Soory but when did 1 and a half cups be the same as 3 quarters cup. Both for flour and sugar say 150 gramms beside the cups.
It’s because the “state” of the ingredients. Flour doesn’t weigh the same as sugar in volume(cups). Flour is lighter.

Is almond meal the same as almond flour?
They are basically the same. Almond flour is usually ground more finely than almond meal.
