I just downloaded this and purchased my first tablet. Just wanted to add to this, if you are using XP pen, you have to disable the WindowsInkWorkspace if using windows 10. Once you have disable this, in the Rebelle 5 pro tablet setup, you have to set it to Wacom compatible device, if you don't set it to Wacom compatible, the pressure and tilt features don't work properly with the XP pen. (And you cannot select the Wacom compatible without disabling the windowsInk). So after 2 days of trying different things, this is the solution and they work beautifully together now, hope this helps someone!
Thank you for a great presentation, it was very helpful. Coming over from organic transparent watercolors I am blown away. About brushes for watercolor, could you show how to make a round watercolor brush act just the way a sable brush does, being able to start and/or end with a fine tapered point as you place down pressure and/or slowly lift off pressure. I have found that really hard to figure out. Thank you again! Happy Holidays!
I already own rebelle 5 pro (it's my go-to program as well; I use it for most of what I do on my channel), but I have to say I LOVE the color mixing! It's so satisfying. I did not realize how dull some of the mixing was in older programs. Honestly, I was shocked at how great version 5 is. It officially allowed me to retire corel painter from my toolbox.
I've been on the fence with Rebelle. I love photoshop but as someone who likes the tactile and visceral feel of real paint. I just find digital frustrating. You were pretty much spot on at the beginning with the video where you mentioned something to the effect of it being dull and boring even, to the point that its hard to be motivated. I played with the demo a little but was still having some issues with paint flow and mixing. This video really helped me see the more advanced functions that can show someone using a display tablet how to get to grips with the software and get the paint to behave the way they want. This is only the first video I have looked at, decided to subscribe, thanks :)
I got Rebelle a few years back when all I had was my old Wacom Intuous drawing tablet. It worked fine, but I never really got used to drawing on my desktop while looking up at my screen. Two years ago, I finally got an iPad Pro and love it! But - I can no longer use Rebelle. :(. I can’t afford another device yet. But what tablet is best for using Rebelle on the PC?
thank you for these videos. i am a traditional artist, but wanted to try digital. the pigment feature 100% sold me. ihave used photoshop and paintshop pro for photo editing and found your videos looking for better software to use with tablet that arrives in 2 days. i have already purchased and installed rebelle pro 5. As you said, wonderful colors on pigment and friendly UI especially compared to some other software. i am also going to be following your custom brush video as i was delighted to see the blend capability. thanks truly!
This presentation is excellent. I have been painting in water color for over 30+ years. This is digital and a new approach. That being said I have to see how much different the blending and saturation modalities work.
sometimes you may want a desaturated look for a specific emotion or effect. depends on the mood of the piece I would think. (but typically, yes, I like it on all the time. 😊
@15:21 you say I can make my brush do anything….how about a 3 inch super soft very wet watercolor wash brush? I’m having a hard time coming from the real world to the digital one… Is there a way to draw a grid on your paper at a specific distance both x & y? How about a brayer ink roller? No paint just a way to move paint around.
Hi Justice. You lost me a bit on NanoPixel feature, as I’m not certain if you had NanoPixel on when exporting to JPEG? You toggled it on/off when you opened the 4x export, but was it on when exporting? And if it was on during 4x export, wouldn’t the 4x JPEG be crisp and detailed when zooming in - regardless as to whether NanoPixel was on? I may be daft here, as it’s early, and on second cup of coffee.
I am not very good art drawing, but do enjoy doodling and would like to have a dabble with water colours. This software looks fantastic. I wonder how it would behave with the Microsoft slim pen 2 and a surface pro 8. I will have to try the demo I think. I am not sure if it knows about tilt or pen rotation. The features in 5 pro look very impressive. Cheers.

I just downloaded Rebelle 5 pro, when you set up your account on the website, you are provided the links to download whichever version works for you. Not having actually done it, if your license is setup for individual person, it appears you can download multiple versions to support all of your personal devices.
Did Aaron explain the color pigments right? ruclips.net/video/CJaHV5mcYSg/видео.html I am still trying to figure them out. He said that there are 2 ways to utilize the new (pigment?) blending mode, and that is using Edit > Natural Colors and that works for all except Oils and Acrylics. For those- turn on "Use Color Pigments" in the Layers panel.
I understand that. Timelapse and a handful of other features are still big improvements though. It helps me to think about version 5 from the perspective of brand new users. Standard version you get a lot of amazing features.
@@TabletPro Is Standard version worth it? I upgraded from 4 to 5 standard since $75 is a bit expensive of an upgrade and I plan to upgrade later. 5 to 5 pro is $60.
It feels like this is how Rebelle should've worked from the very beginning, not in V5, let alone Pro. Btw, just to be fair, there is software that does same color math for years. Called realistic paint studio.
@@vladimirtomin8223 except I own Realistic Paint Studio and it's terribly optimized and when I reached out to support to voice various concerns they were quite rude. To anyone reading this, Rebelle is so much better than RPS
I see you messing around with the brushes, but not painting anything, that is using these adjustments. do you actual paint something..... I am not being sarcastic . it would be nice to see you paint some thing that shows how they can help someone with their painting tech....
I've done some time-lapse recordings in the past, and I enjoy it. most of my art in the early stages looks pretty horrible. I think it's a good idea though. I think it's necessary. Very hard for me to paint and talk at the same time. But I need to practice it more.
1:38 - Umm, actually no, Rebelle is not the first digital art program to feature accurate pigment mixing. There is a VR oil painting simulator called Vermillion, which I've used quite a bit, that has accurate pigment mixing behavior, and I would say it's even more accurate and more realistic than Rebelle 5. In fact, there is *no* RGB or HSV color picker in Vermillion at all, and it *requires* that you mix paints manually to get the colors you want. Granted, that's a VR application, and Rebelle is 2D, so there's an obvious difference there, but Vermillion is still a "digital art program".
I disagree. Even if it's about mixing colors itself. It is still based on RGB, not RYB. That's what Rebelle pigment mixing is for. It'll give you accurate mixing. Vermillion as far as I know don't have that integrated. What I think is it has what Artrage has, "real color blending" where yellow mixed with blue will give you green, but the real issue shows up if you try to mix complementary colors, they should nullify each other and give you chromatic grey to work with. That's where ArtRage falls short, and I suspect Vermillion too. In their mode, they'll attempt to shift the hue toward the middle of both and still give you a high saturation color to work with which isn't realistic. With Rebelle's pigment mixing, it works exactly like real traditional mixing would. The color is desaturated. Either way, I'd love to own it when I finally can afford VR. :)

It supports tilt and works really well on the pro 8. I think you will like it
Would this work on a surface pro8 with slim pen2? Was using Photoshop but can't get pen pressure to work on it.
Yes, I tested on the Surface Pro 8 the last version and it works really well. I'm using this on a Laptop Studio right now.

Can u plz suggest a cheap tablet on which i can use rebelle 5???

Hey does anyone have any Personal vs Pro comparison vids they can share the link to?
So I have a Mac and a pc will I have to purchase it twice for both, or will 1 version work for both Mac and PC

Amazing software. I found it in Version 5 and its my choice for painting.

super WOW
I do like the idea of selling my artwork and maybe making large prints.
yeah me too. I feel like I can finally actually print artwork and it will look good.
Anyone else feel like the non-pro version is just the new useful features locked behind a paywall?
