Place doors yourself is an absolute game changer for ship building. I’m actually honestly shocked you’ve never used it before now, especially since you like ship building so much. You should really keep it in you load order because it’s down right amazing.
@@yourmuma I use Ship Builder Configurator. Waaay more options and compatibility that you can change on the fly in the game options, including size, part numbers, and more. Perfectly compatible with pretty much every ship hab mod and pdy pairing you can think of. 10/10 recommend.
@ ah, yea I’m on the other side. I plan that shit out and have even been decorating empty habs for my own tastes/ship needs. Two sides of the same coin though, cheers!
I downloaded this the other day as I wanted the M-Class parts. I agree with all your points in this video. The brig and the armory should definitely be separated (maybe an Armory/Crafting area would make more sense) as you do NOT want prisoners in the same area as your weapon stash. That is just asking for trouble. Visually the hab is amazing looking. As for the M-Class parts, its a good start, but I would have liked to see the M-class "habs" shrunk downs as well (since they are not really habs anyway). This would give us more options for blending these pieces in.
100% agree with your points 1) PDY and Useful Brigs are awesome mods but I think it would benefit the mod if they didn't come as requirements. 2) This should be two mods, Intrinity habs and Intrinity ship parts. That being said, I have not been this excited about a ship part mod for a long time. The mod author is pushing updates on the daily and is adding the M class habs as scaled down structural pieces.
8:27, the word you're looking for is "organically" :D I agree with you about the requirements. It's frowned upon to use a direct requirement when other mods exist (Useful Brigs vs Functional Brigs). But at the same time, it's sometimes the difference of whether something exists or not because the mod author didnt need to share anything at all and has stated it was a personal project.
I have zero problems with one mod requiring another mod, as long as it is clearly stated and the load order needed is also clearly stated. I ALWAYS use the Door mod because I hate the arbitrary placement the base game does.
It's preferable to have it this way. He seem to not really understand why it's done that way. But it's just so that the mod is compatible with a wider range of other mods. Nothing else. If it wasn't done like this (which is more or less the "standard" for obvious reasons) it would have conflicted with any other hab-mod. It's not done because "he couldn't be bothered" but to make sure the mod is compatible with the widest range of other mods.
PDY is even more fun if you try to modify a vanilla ship like the Vista III. They are ok before you change a ship but if you do then you have to figure out where the doors and ladders go. It's a real pain. Still, I wouldn't play without it. :) I agree about separating the structures from the habs. I'd only really want those structural pieces as well. Hopefully, I can make my ships less brick like.
I checked this mod out the other day and I agree with all your points. Armory and brigs in one hab just screams danger to me. Speaking of it requiring PDY, I love that mod, but if it’s gonna be required, then mod author please make hab variants that can be entered from different sides, instead of only one hab with one entrance. I don’t want to have to build my ship around just one hab
Totally agree with u. This is what I hate about some modern authors. If it requires a previous mod, then please list it in the description. 😤🤬 it’s very frustrating trying to guess which ones u actually need
A HUGE thank you to @Dl33t3d for the mod and @Crimson for the commentary. Some constructive criticism. A) any mod requiring additional mods, just put a comment as to which mods. B) love the hab, but for immersive role playing (reflecting real life practices) Prisoners and weapons are like oil & vinegar, they don’t mix. I really would prefer two habs, one a brig and the other an armory. C) really like the shrunken ‘M’ class parts, so many more curves and such! Ok, off my soap box.
Thank you for talking about brigs full of weapons the last thing you want is huge amounts of weapons and armour where your prisoners are. Modders stop doing that it's stupid
Yeah, what they should have in brigs instead is security bots modded to deliver debilitating electric shocks. As a bonus the bots would actually be doing a good thing in this case by blocking doorways.
Facts! Now if it was a vaulted guard shack in the middle that also had an armory then I could somewhat give it a pass. But as is that is just a huge security risk that one misplaced digipick can put whole ship into chaos. Hell every time I place a brig in a ship I take care to always make sure it's the furthest away from the bridge, armory and operation centers, only have one door connected to an empty hallway that I then place security robots/turrets
😂 the first time I put on the game and saw the hope tech habs, I wondered, why the hell is a brig in here with all these weapons? Bethesda did not give a damn about the placement of things. I mean if the goal was to create freedom why impose so many restrictions and limitations? I had to use an empty hab and put a desk and a medical bed/interrogation set up which would be in a normal brig
@@BlackBoy1620I rebuilt my ship thinking the same thing. There's even a bug where if you keep the criminal you capture for a while they escape and end up on your ship. It happened to me a couple times and I had to kill them.
I recently saw this mod and was intrigued by the redone M-class parts so I’m glad you did a review. Thanks! The hab is cool but I too would have liked to have seen separate brig and armory habs. Perhaps the MA will make more habs in the future or add separates to this mod in a future update. I’ll be starting my first modded play through as soon as the new SF update barfs out of beta and lands on Xbox and I’ll definitely be adding this mod to my LO, It’s very cool…👍
Just a quick update. This mod isn't functioning properly on xbox as of the time of commenting. As well as that, after playing around with it for a few hours in pc, flying a ship built with the parts caused my game to slow to a crawl. The mod author is supposedly working constantly on it, but it may be some time before we get a fix for either of these issues.
On Xbox this mod has been giving me some big issues, the main hab is super bugged out like the model detached itself from the visual or something it’s hard to word. Unsure if it’s how I put it in the load order or a bug specific to Xbox series S (which seems to have its own slew of issues for reasons)
@ yeah with just that mod (and one that skips the intro I didn’t have the time to sit through it to be sure). I think I had some Matilja habs do the same thing awhile ago although not sure it’s the same bug. It looks like all the yellow hatches in the hab are all vertical (even the 6 on the roof that should be flat, and you can basically see straight through the model as well). Figured if the author saw this I would try and describe as much detail as I could
there is no comment section in creations there is however one on nexus and as soon as the mod creator made this mod they were beratted with requests to make this independent of other mods. the creator responded to me immediately and they will make the mod independent of other mods but they are a single parent and it may take some time.

The useful brigs is required for the brigs to function as brigs. All ships should use place doors yourself...especially with the custom habs. Most of us use PDY if we get ship mods.
The structural stuff is all incredibly glitchy to the point of unusability.
