The videos are there to be watched, not just by folk who also make videos. Comments are invited so I commented with my opinion. You cannot always expect favourable comments. Having said that the manner of my comment was a little curt and too pointed. It was not my intention to be disrespectful....and no I am not a troll who doesn't know shit about anything. By the way I did buy one of these pots as a result of checking out reviews and am well pleased with it.
Man, I really love these little stowaway pots from MSR! The 775 ml version allows these inexpensive Chinese gassifier stoves to nest perfectly inside. Thanks for the review.
Great video, thanks! Instead of tools and cord, you might want to consider putting inside, a scrubbie for cleaning up the pot, dish soap, cooking oil, spices, tea/coffee, pot gripper, a multi-use bandana for handling a hot pot. I just ordered one from ebay for under $22 with free shipping.
I have the same MSR nesting kit you show and it is great, but the problem I have with it that no one else mentions is cooking real(not instant) Jasmine rice. Real rice must be steamed with the lid on, and a pot that requires a pot lifter also requires the lid to be removed to move the pot. Removing the lid lets all the steam out resulting in crappy rice. This MSR "Stowaway" appears perfect for cooking real Thai Jasmine rice.
I also have the 775 ml pot. Nice little pot. I find myself using this pot more often over my other cooksets, including a couple of Snow Peak sets. My Trangia alcohol stove with stand, plus other tiny goodies fit into this pot nicely.
I have this pot in my bug out bag. I haven't used it yet, but it seems to be of high quality. And your review shows this to be true. Thank you for taking the time.
I guess for an emergency the 4oz msr isopro would be good. In the long run I'd be reluctant to use them as a general everyday or main camp cook option. The smaller the canisters are the more metal vs volume of fuel you have to carry. It would be self contained. I keep one of these in my main emergency kit stuffed with a primus multifuel stove and pump. The stove is well protected. In the short term with the two 1liter bottles of kerosene, I have an extremely high performance ice melter. When that fuel runs out I could easily transition to over fire use. These seagull pots are excellent. Thanks for the review!
Just wanted to comment that I thoroughly enjoyed your review, but there is no way that is the 475ml pot. More likely it would be the 775ml or 1.1L. Based off of the size your hand is, as well as the gear you were putting in it, I would guess it's the 775ml, although I have the 1.1L and it's hard to tell. Personally, I absolutely love my 1.1L pot. I can fit my micro rocket stove, a 4oz can of fuel, 0.75L msr bowl, lighter, instant coffee packets, camp soap, wetfire firestarter(s), and the MSR pot scraper/cleaner with a bit of room left to spare. Somewhat heavy if you're into UL backpacking, but I like cooking real meals when I'm out hiking. Anyway, happy cooking!
ramen and food in it lol. I keep a bandanna in mine, inside of which is a salt+pepper shaker, a 2 oz bottle of oil, a 2 oz bottle of biodegradable plant-based soap, 1/4th of a scotch pad, and assorted drinks like coffee packs, hot chocolate, or apple cider, also tea + a spork. Also a bail-wire for hanging. Food is in a separate waterproof bag
I also have this pot and love it. On another note, I've never understood why anyone would carry a uni-tasker like that carry-around pot handle. A three inch vice grip will serve the same purpose and can be used for other jobs. Just my two cents worth. Happy dirt time!
Thanks for the review, really pushed me over the edge in wanting to buy one now. Just one quick question, knowing that there are different sizes, which ml pot would be best for two people. I'm between the 775ml and 1.1ml, but if anyone has any experience with both pots, I'd love to know the recommend person ratio.
I just added the msr 1.6 ltr Stowaway to my cooking kit, Havent used it as of yet But I am very soon. I have a very portable woodgas stove coming in from Amazon and and tag teaming the MSR with it. May add another pot stove combo at a later date.
Is the 14cm Zebra lunch box pot better? The Zebra has a lid lip that comes over the edge of the pot instead of the lip resting inside the pot. What do you all think???
So no one else gets the wrong pot: - the 775 ml -as seen in this video - has a 6" diameter - the 445 ml version - NOT the one in the video, but smaller - has a 5" diameter
+David Cooper I just clicked on your channel to see how good your videos are, and guess what!? NO VIDEOS. Hm...... I guess that makes you a troll. Funny how people who criticize don't know shlt about anything, but think they know everything.

Which stove do you mean? I just ordered a Bushbuddy stove and I'm trying to figure out if it'll fit inside. Did you get a Solo Stove?
Great video, thanks!

Excellent ideas. Thanks!

I love my MSR Stowaway. It's the first pot I bought for camping and I don't use it enough. Thanks for doing it justice.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. The MSR Stowaway pots are great products.

You are very welcome. Its a great piece of equipment.

You are correct. The pot i have is the 775 ml. Thanks for the heads up.
Also "13 oz./365 g (775ml)"
Great pot, it’s got both a lid and an attached handle. Wow!
ramen and food in it lol.

+cmrsvids or a multi tool

I use mine everyday for my lunches. Two bagel sandwiches fit easy and I can snap it on the outside of my cooler bag
Love the review...This helps a lot when making a budgeted decision without a lot of expensive "trial-and-error".
I glad that you found this review helpful.

775 Milliliter is 26 oz., but no worries. I'm considering this pot. Overall great review, thanks.
I just purchased the 1L stowaway and I'm quiet please with it. Nice review. Gracias
Thanks! I'm glad you found my view helpful.
775 ml is 26 fluid ounces. You can check that with an online ml to fluid oz converter.
I just checked 😊 You are correct. I got mine today off of eBay with free shipping.
I just ordered the 1.1 liter!
Excellent choice!!!
I agree with the handle. If it doesn't have a handle it doesn't go. I can't stand not having a handle
Is it 475 or 775 .....it says 775 on the Video and then you said its 475 ?? Im really Confused now which is it ???
Easy conversion from metric is 1000 ml or 1 litre = 1 U.S. Quart. We Canadians had the metric system forced upon us years ago. It sucks.
What sucks is the Imperial system- a laughing stock in the whole world.Only 3 countries use it-the U.S., Liberia and Myanmar ,that speaks for itself.
Thumbs up for the Chai Tea AND the MSR Stow away!
I have a Colman max cook pot set I was thinking of getting another one with a handle one like this or maybe a Mors cook pot they both look great ..
im pretty sure 775 ml holds more than 16 ounces..cause my 550 toaks cup holds 19 ounces
You say the pot is 475ml or 16oz.... but the title says 775ml....which is 26 oz. Which pot are you reviewing here?
the one msr pot handle you can use a rubberband to keep it on the pot that's what i do works good
I'm curious as to whether a solo man stove would fit inside of this thing. any idea?
that looks like the 775ml version. I just bought the 775 and that looks just like it. The 447 is very tiny .
You are correct. The pot I have is the 775 ml. Thanks for the correction.
TheGearTester no worries. Review helped me purchase my similar pot and I am very pleased with it and the 775ml size for me and a partner on occasion.
great product and review
Thanks! I enjoy doing reviews of quality products. Spending time outside around a campfire is lots of fun.
TheGearTester
I agree. .. my campfire vids are my favorite to make.
Is the 14cm Zebra lunch box pot better?
The Zebra has a lid lip that comes over the edge of the pot instead of the lip resting inside the pot.
What do you all think???
Patrick F it’s the same thing. The MSR is a rebadged Zebra
The origional MSR pots made by Zebra are much stronger and a solid handle than the Seagull.
Great video and review. I have the same pot and I love it. I don't use mine nearly enough, so I'm sure it'll last me many years :-/
I appreciate the fact that you took the time to leave a comment. I really like the MSR Stowaway family of pots.
02:26 I love watching Americans struggling with the metric system :D
No, it is painful to watch...
I have two of these pots. They are everything you say they are....
They are excellent products. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment.
What Surefire flashlight is that?
Really like these
I use the grease pot from Walmart with the handle cut off
I use this pot with a msr pocket rocket or open fire.
u sure that's the 475 ml? looks like 775 ml version to me.
So no one else gets the wrong pot:
- the 775 ml -as seen in this video - has a 6" diameter
- the 445 ml version - NOT the one in the video, but smaller - has a 5" diameter
475ml = 4.6 in. x 2.9 in. x 5.2 in
775ml = 5.4 in. x 3.1 in. x 5.5 in
Video is too long with too may repetitions. Could have been condensed to less than 3 minutes.
+David Cooper I just clicked on your channel to see how good your videos are, and guess what!? NO VIDEOS. Hm...... I guess that makes you a troll. Funny how people who criticize don't know shlt about anything, but think they know everything.
Another vid shows that the small fuel canisters do fit in the pot..
That's good to know. Thanks for the information.
Damn shame it doesn't come with a stuff sack.
zebra tailand lunchbox
I threw mine away total pants
