Welcome to the second chapter of our captivating Coast of Kerala series! Join us as we embark on an unforgettable journey in Varkala, starting from a scenic train ride from Alleppey to Varkala station. From there, we venture into the vibrant North Cliff area, where we stay at the beautiful Keratheeram Beach Resort.
🚂 Day 1: North Cliff and Varkala Beach 🌊
Our day begins with a refreshing auto ride to North Cliff from Varkala station, where we settle into the serene surroundings. We explore the pristine Varkala Beach, strolling along the golden sands and soaking up the breathtaking views of the Arabian Sea. As we explore North Cliff by foot, we stumble upon Cafe Italiano for lunch, but unfortunately, the food and service leave much to be desired. Undeterred, we make our way to Bindu's Cafe, where we indulge in an amazing cold coffee while enjoying the soothing ocean breeze. Finally, we witness a breathtaking sunset at the horizon and end our day's adventures at the enchanting Varkala Aquarium.
🛵 Day 2: Jatayu Earth Centre and North Cliff Exploration 🦅
On our second day, we rent a scooty and embark on a thrilling journey to Jatayu Earth Centre. This awe-inspiring destination offers one of the most amazing experiences in Kerala, where we explore colossal statues, immerse ourselves in nature, and take in panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes. After an awe-inspiring adventure, we return to North Cliff, where we indulge in some shopping, capturing the essence of local crafts and souvenirs. And, of course, we couldn't resist another round of refreshing cold coffee at Bindu's Cafe, savoring the flavors and unwinding amidst the peaceful ambiance. With our hearts full of memories, we bid farewell to Varkala, ending our stay on a high note.

We went here next. Thanks for also including the best time of the day to visit spots. Helped us in going to Jatayu and returning quickly. However, we went to Darjeeling cafe at night and man, the rush there !

As my name means Ordinary Traveler I actually don’t spend lot of money on travel and save every bit where i can and that’s how normal Indian travels and that’s is the real travel.
And yes I’m fan of Kerala chips and namkeen bohot sahi hoti hai yaar ye🤤 and about my shirts🙈 I don’t have great fashion sense but kaam chal jata hai.
Jatayu earth center is an amazing place and whenever you go to Kerala do visit that place it’s really good the whole experience from buying tickets to coming down was amazing, it’s a must visit place.
And about the restaurants it’s my duty to give my honest opinion despite the name and fame of the restaurant.

Yes 3-3:30 hrs are enough to explore the Jatayu.
How can we fly drone there? Is it allowed or we have to take any kind of permission?

Baba if your drone weighs less than 250gm you don’t need any permission and if it weighs more than 250gm then you might need permission until someone objects.
Which one is better Kovalam site seen Or Varkala site seen?
It’s totally depends on personal perspective, if you ask me, i like Varkala and around.

I got it from where i stayed, there is no vendors in Varkala you just have yo ask from where you are staying they will arrange it

I’m sorry for replying late, this property doesn’t have parking, very few hotels there have parking spaces as they are on the beach

Yes there is zostel in Varkala and you can visit both the places in one day, but it will be very hectic, give it atleast 2 days

Hi Hari there are lots of options to stay at Varkala but try to stay on the cliff only and do the booking in advance as you need lots of rooms. There are budget hotels starting from 1000/- as well as luxury so it’s on you where you want to stay.

Fastest way is flight Bangalore to Kochi then taxi or train to Varkala, or you there are many direct train from Bangalore to Varkala which is also a good option.
What Mike do you use for voice overs?

Baba there is no scooty rental in Varkala, i got this from my hotel guy, you can also get one from your hotel, if not you can contact Keeratheeram hotel(on the north cliff)they will arrange one.

Flying drone at Jatayu is not permitted. I took stock videos from Google. Earlier they allowed to take drone shots but now it’s not allowed.

I paid somewhere around 5k for 2 nights now the prices are ridiculous as I heard
is it easy to get self drive vehicle over there, as you haven’t provided the contact number for that part
There is no vendors for bike and scooty, you just have ask your hotel or homestay and they will arrange it for you

You can take flight from Delhi to Trivandrum, from there you can take taxi, Auto or bus its 1.30hr by road from the airport.

Hi Vishnupriya both are good if you are looking for a bit commercial side with lots cafes, restaurants and shopping then go to North Cliff, South is bit quiet as compared to North cliff
