Berganza was always grace, warmth and kindness in vocal and very musical form, but in this recording she is particularly sublime. She and the excellent instrumental accompaniment transport us to another, otherworldly, dimension. RIP!

I love this performance. This is undoubtedly my favorite performance of this work by Vivaldi. Berganza is a master.
Même si j'adore entendre cette oeuvre chantée par un contre ténor, quel régal que d'écouter la très belle voix de Tėrèsa Berganza pour laquelle j'ai un grand faible! Elle a un joli vibrato entre autres choses.
La musique religieuse de Vivaldi a été écrite pour l'ospedale delle pieta qui accueillait des jeune femmes orphelines ou pauvres, l'interprétation par un contre-tenor est une erreur historique... même si, Andreas Scholl, Philippe Jarousski ou d'autres peuvent y être bouleversants.
Lucile Richardot , accompagnée par l'ensemble 1704 donne une belle interprétation historiquement informée comme on dit aujourd'hui.

Es que no se puede lograr más belleza! ¿Como hay gente que no puede apreciar la musicalidad de la Sra Berganza? Ya además no hablemos de su color de voz; en una época donde hay tantas voces iguales escuchar voces únicas siempre es refrescante.

It is not only a nice, but also very interesting performance because of Berganza's voice. She makes exciting turns in dynamics, vibratos, forming the phrases etc...My favourite part: 5:55 - 10:55. In this 5 minutes the outside world ceases for me.

Que la pieza esté escrita por Vivaldi para ser cantada por una contralto no quita el hecho de que Teresa Berganza es mezzosoprano, una voz intermedia entre soprano y contralto que suele acomodarse a piezas escritas para contralto o para soprano según el caso. Igual debiera corregirse ese dato en la descripción...

Teresa fue siempre magnífica. No sé por qué tontería o ignorancia, cuando se eligió en España a los cien mejores cantantes del siglo se la eliminó a ella, a Victoria de los Ángeles, y a Pilar Lorengar. Somos tan extraños los seres humanos.
Porque éste país de mediocres no puede entender que estas tres señoras que menciona han sido de las mejores cantantes del siglo X X a nivel mundial y alguna de ellas seguramente de las mejores de la historia
Precisamente Berganza, Victoria y Lorengar son mis tres cantantes preferidas, seguidas de Caballé y Elly Ameling

13.05.2022 Descansa Teresa, en esta interpretación puedo darme una idea de lo que significa el cielo.
No hay que emitir juicios de valor con tanta liviandad. Podemos decir que nos gusta más la.interpretación de Teresa Berganza que es Magnifica, pero no podemos decir que una orquesta barroca suena mal, es diferente la forma de ejecución, como también menospreciar la voz de contratenor y sobretodo la Andréa Scholl impecable su afinación, coloratura impecable y su interpretación musical y expresiva.

Mais je préfère entendre celles des Contre-Ténors quand il
s'agit de la Musique de Vivaldi ou Haendel...
Je préfère Teresa Berganza à tous les contre-ténors que j'ai entendus là-dedans. Sa maîtrise du timbre sur toute la tessiture, notamment dans les graves, ses nuances subtiles, son sens du legato et du phrasé la placent pour moi loin au-dessus des hommes. En tant que contre-ténor, c'est pour moi un modèle technique et stylistique. Seul Alfred Deller possédait ces qualités, mais avec moins d'éclat. Peut-être est-ce aussi une question de génération ? Le sens du phrasé semble être devenu une qualité rarissime, en particulier en musique baroque.

Que delicia escuchar esta obra cantada con voz "verdadera" (¡ y que voz la de la Berganza ! )acompañada por una verdadera orquesta. Estoy más que harto de esos contratenores y de esas orquestas "barrocas" que suenan tan mal...

Mingardo live is very disappointing. Very very small voice, lack of projection, her voice is immediately covered by the orchestra.

Efectly, she is a magnific meso soprano.
She called herself a mezzo and said early she could have go one in the direction of soprano but chose not to. Personally this is not my favourite for her I prefer Mingardo who is a career long contralto.

This is awesome though. For a singer that doesn't specialize in Baroque music like our beloved Andreas, she has fabulous control of the coloratura. (Though I guess it shouldn't be a surprise, given how well she sang Rossini!) It might be a bit vibrato-heavy for Baroque purists, but it's still a fabulous voice singing a beautiful work really, really, really well.
