@@UldisMelderis hi Uldis thanks I did now see it . I'm just confused about when they called you into IMT why they didn't take your old license but then had to mail it. I am hoping I can keep my other license because I will still need to use in my home country (non EU)
@@robertspencergringley8219 Local IMT just collected my data, the address in the email where I needed to send my licence is the actual place where they manage it all! Well, remember that you need to become a resident in Portugal to be able to apply for an exchange! I am pretty sure that it is illegal to hold 2 driving licences at once, so if they will exchange they will collect the old one. Also, remember that if your existing licence is still legit they may not rush to exchange your existing one! And check (IMT website) what else may be required for you extra as a non-EU citizen to apply for an exchange! I know that they recently updated the form by adding more fields to it, so they asking for more information now!
Hi Uldis, I am a EU(Dutch) Citizen, but I've driving license from India. I'll come to Portugal for job purpose this year and will become a resident there. Can I exchange my Indian Driving License in Portugal if I am already an EU (Netherlands) Citizen and I become a resident in Portugal?
Hi Elora! Well according to PT website forms... They say where the driving licence is issued... So in your case, it is probably applies to India not Netherlands rules. But please note I am not an expert and this video is just my story to clarify the process itself!
Thanks for the info!
I thought they were supposed to send a temporary drivers license? Do you have to send in your original drivers license?
Hi Robert! Yes it all is covered in part 2 here - ruclips.net/video/AhaCBA-j8pU/видео.html
