Thanks for the info! Been looking at 10m hoses but still cant get over the fact how complicated it is to extend a hose,,,, two adapters and a screwdriver is ridiculous given festool’s usual ease of use. Wish someone would make a product I could just click on when I needed an extra 10ft without permantly changing the main hose or using this adapter hack.
Haha! Recently had to figure this out on my own. Wanted to connect a 27mm hose to my D36 hose and just bought the coupler. Didn't work even though reviews said it would. Had to replace the end on the larger hose with the larger version of the rotating connector and worked like a charm. Wasn't too big of a deal though because I never ever use the D36 hose with tools. Otherwise that'd be a little inconvenient.
+GuysWoodshop I'm gonna guess at least 20 times. And I've received a few personal messages about connecting hoses in the past. So maybe I should have made this video a long time ago. I looked in my closet and dresser, sadly I could not find a Patriots shirt to wear in this video. Sorry man! LOL !!!
Just an update for any lost soul looking for a solution to this: the new 'smooth' hoses can (finally!) be coupled in a plug and play fashion, no more adapter or tooling required.
@@chrisr8996 It looks like it; at 21:14 in the video when sedge connects the two hoses it looks like one is the 36/32 and the other is a 36, so two 36s should fit together.
Are they snapping securely or are are they basically just butted to a female connecter?
As usual eric, no nonsense and to the point... great video.

For anyone watching this later - note that the new 32-27 hose takes a different part number on the rotating connector
How many times do you think this question has been asked on the FOG? Great info Eric!

what about the plug it cords?
Exactly.
+SMD I use a 15 foot extension cord.
Duh! It was past my bedtime when I replied....
+SMD There's also a 10m (~33') Plug-it cord available now. Festool No. 500949.
The Poplar Shop so you use 15 feet of cord for 22 feet of hose?

Does this apply to the smooth 36mm hose as well? A few on FOG said only the new 27mm hoses can connect tool end to vac end, not the 36mm.
@@NWGR check Festool Live on that topic, seems possible: ruclips.net/video/l5dJvZRJDKw/видео.html

Absolute horse shit. More ways for Festool to sell more over priced plastic.
