I know this video was up here awhile ago, and don't see it anymore, so uploading this for a friend who has been wanting too see it anyway.. this will come in 3 parts.. 2 more to go!

OMG, this interview still slays me. I first saw it in the mid 90s, a few years after it aired. I’ve been a fan of Mike since 1990 and it’s hard to wrap my brain around how many years he’s been a part of my life and how amazing he is. He’s older now, I’m older now, but his talent and my love for him never changes!

I met him a few years ago after a Fantomas show out front of a venue on South street and he was really easy going and very polite,didn’t come off at all like he had a big ego it seemed very much the opposite. That was just one time but anything I hear from others who’ve met him all say the same thing. Just the fact that he was hanging out right in front of where they just played seemed totally down to earth,very much like he is here

Of course you should point out the good in any place, and Brazil has a great musical culture, great natural beauty etc. But drive to the outskirts of Rio and into the more rural areas, and you will see the crushing poverty and suffering. I wont use the term that Trump recently used to describe Haiti, but at the same time you won't ever see change if everyone chooses the superficial "politically correct" whitewash that ignores it, so that non Brazilian progressives can feel virtuous by denying the problems, or just labeling people "racists" for exposing them.
yeah but in the 80s and 90s Brazil was still unknown to America and was going through an economic redevelopment(started in the 70s). In this time ARGENTINA had that culturally exotic reputation. Also Soccer was not even really known about in America so America had no clue about Brazil being a behomoth of soccer. It wasn't until the LATE 90's that Americans began to hear about Carnival and the beautiful girls ...and it wasn't until the late 2000's that Americans actually kinda cared about soccer and its history.

This was when Patton was slowly segueing into his current darker and edgier persona we have now since he cut his hair and ditched the nasal vocals.
He didnt ditch the nasal vocals, his vocal chords exercised and grew out of that sound :)
Nope,nasal vocals were his choice,you cannot develop deeper vocals in less than a year.

Oh God! This was 18 years ago. I only saw him three days ago at the Reading festival onstage and backstage. He looked right at me and he's still sexy as hell, but at 41 and a musical workaholic, Mike looks his age now. What a legend!

i ate acid one night in 1992 and listened to the Mr, Bungle Album that just came out and i had a picture in my mind of Mike Patton with a microphone and the cord was connected to a box than had all the instruments in and on it sax on the side symbals at a 45 degree angle on the back top subwoofers guitar strings that plucked themselves, turntables. fucking never forget that shit when i was 15.

Eu não percebi isso... achei ele sendo bem simples, até brincou...
I meant that the fans of bands in Brazil are VERY committed and can go crazy when they wait at the airports for bands (because they do!) and outside hotels. Bands I've spoken to have said that the fans over there are insane, meaning that they just go mad at the sight of their idols. Mike has always gone crazy onstage, that's what he's been known for. We'd feel disappointed if there wasn't the usual Patton bizarre behaviour at a show!

His early death metal band is Mr. Bungle. They started out as death metal before incorporating pretty much every musical style you could possibly think of into their music, often in the same song. Incredible band with amazing musicianship, plus more creative courage and audacity than most other bands could dream of.
