    Apple is in a sweet spot right now. Just went to buy another PC laptop and walked out with the Macbook Air .....its looks and feels much more premium than other offerings you would find in Bestbuy.
    Laptops seem to be going thru a skightly mundane aesthestic. Almost ALL of them are colored black and or grey. It would be nice to see some more colors.
    Apple has about 4 or 5 different colors. Do yourself a favor and get the beautifully stunning "starlight" color. Like I said im not a Apple guy the macbook Airs are really nice computers.
    Looking forward to familiarizing myself with the Apple OS.

      @@ropro9817 i prefer the notch to a narrower display aspect ratio. the area under the notch is 16:10. The area in the notch is perfect for the top menu bar so that it doesn't eat away from the vertical height and bring the 16:10 display to 16:9 or less. You still get a 16:10 display under the notch and a top menu bar as an addition. Win win. P.s. if the argument is that the notch is ugly, the macbooks are one of the few laptops which actually have a uniform bezel all around. Almost all other laptops have a huge chin or non-uniform bezels which I would never buy personally.

    The M2 was a mistake. It was supposed to be what is now the M3, but the graphics section overheated and used too much power. Apple removed the defective graphics hardware and put the M1 graphics back in to make the M2, then kept the old 5nm process and shipped. Later, Apple went to Blender and they fixed the 3D algorithm. What we got was:
    M3 = M2 + 20% speed up (3nm) + New 3D Graphics
    More complications keep arising however, as TSMC continues to innovate. The missing Desktop Macs are slated to use the next version of 3nm process, which is faster, more efficient and all that good stuff Apple really likes.

    Please stop pushing typical consumers to 16 gigs of memory. Frankly, it's not necessary for the audience Apple is targeting. If we're being honest, the vast majority aren't going to see a return on the extra money spent to upgrade the ram. Apple isn't going to support your 16-gig configuration for any longer than the base model. Lastly, if you're the type of consumer who upgrades every 2-3 years, the base configuration nets you the most value on trade-in. Apple will not give you more trade credit, simply because your config has double the ram. These are not video-editing machines, so spending the extra coin is quite literally a waste of money. Honestly, the majority of those who buy this machine aren't using it much differently than others who might opt for a Chrome Book. RUclips influencers need to stop manufacturing reasons to push people to waste their money on pointless upgrades in a laptop with a fanless design. Most people will be fine with the base config. Take all of these reviewers and influencers with a massive dose of salt.

      "Apple isn't going to support your 16-gig configuration for any longer than the base model." What are you talking about? Do you even know what RAM does?
      If anyone is buying a computer thinking how much they will get for it in two years, they are buying the wrong computer and don't likely actually need one. Especially a Mac.
      No one who cares about saving money is buying a new MacBook every 2-3 years.
      16GB of RAM is suitable for individuals who may require it in the future. With 5-6 browser tabs open, several web applications running, a word processor, and Lightroom in use, the 8GB can quickly deplete. There is no point in buying a $1400 laptop with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. I would avoid paying that much money for so little if I could.

      @@robertp457 Yes, I'm absolutely knowledgeable about what RAM does and its impact on performance. My point is that 16 gigs on this laptop for the average user isn't worth the extra money. It's horrendously overpriced to go up in configuration and again the average user isn't going to see an appreciable value for the extra money spent. This is a nice laptop but it's a mixed bag. It's okay for some basic photo and video editing, but even at max config, it's not the best choice.

      @@robertp457 I fully understand what Ram is and its impact on performance. My point is that the average user isn't going to see an appreciable difference for the extra money spent. The cost to double the Ram is horrendously overpriced. It's a nice laptop but it's also in a weird spot. It's base config is okay for regular day to day tasks and some light editing. (akin to a Chromebook) Fully spec'd out, and it's approaching MacBook pro pricing, without the active fans to support a creatives workload, which is why I would not buy this machine for anything greater than the base config. Paying anything more makes no sense. The target audience is at the base config.

      @@SlitheringDemon Yes, you're absolutely correct but again, if you're going to spend $200 just to double the Ram, in order to spare the SSD, It only serves to illustrate the point further that this MacBook air might not be worth it over an M3 MacBook pro. You're spending over $1,500 once the Ram alone is added and are very close to MacBook Pro territory at that point. It's a tough sell to me, at that price.

      @@SlitheringDemon The price of the MB Air 512GB/16GB version is the same as nearly every premium Windows ultrabook, so I fail to understand why you claim Apple is not offering the moneys' worth. It is nonsense as you are not comparing with premium rivals. All Apple does is offer a cheaper skew for those that cannot afford $1500 and if you are upset with that, can you explain why you do not want people to have a chance to buy a MB Air at $1100 if they cannot afford $1500. The price of $1500 for 512GB/16GB will not change if Apple kills the cheaper models. Your argument is flawed and showing no understanding of basic demand side economics.

      MacBook Air is more convenient and has better battery life than an iPad Pro with a keyboard attached. It’s more versatile. I can throw it in my bag for a 3 day trip and not charge it. There’s really not a single windows laptop as efficient as the air. RUclips and most content I’m consuming is capped at 60hz anyways.
