@@pluscenter how to remove without the storage tray cubby ?? I actually am going to add the storage tray with the radio but can’t find any video without the tray.. Mine is the original ac vent/speaker thing
WARNING to anyone: make sure to reconnect airbag before turning in the battery and testing the radio. I did this and my airbag light stays on, failed MOT because of it

I see a lot of comments about drained batteries and that 'the red and orange wiring connection from the wiring harness' needs to be disconnected. But I don't see this being done in the video and I don't see a clear response to any of these comment on this topic (i.e. direct to video time stamp). - Would be very helpful to have a clear explanation on this.

Yes you can disconnect the orange and red wire to prevent this, in fact many of these come with a connector on these wires to easily disconnect hope this helps

Great video, very straightforward. Why only the 1 aerial connection on the new unit but 2 on the original 🤔 also does it automatically power off when the ignition turns off....mine doesn't o have to switch it off 🤔😂
Hi, there is not a problem for the FM or AM that is only one. Also the stereo turn off when you switch off the ignition, thanks!

Did you need to use a mounting kit? Doest look like it, if the screen is 9inch does that mean you don’t need a mounting cage?
No cage needed it bolts right up to existing holes for stock radio

Do you not need to wire this to the ignition fuse box at all? So it turns off properly when you turn off the car? Also any issues on battery drain fitting this head unit?
Hello, the stereo have wiring harness with the canbus that work with the car ignition and computer, so it can’t dry your battery because the stereo is on only when the car is started or ignition on. It works with the steering wheel buttons if you have any, it show car info like milage, fuel and more. Also showing on the screen when the doors are open. It’s made specifically for VW, so it fit as it has to be.

Hello, there is orange and red connection on the wiring harness, make sure it is disconnected then the stereo will work only with the ignition and will never dry your battery again, thanks!

What size is the screen?
I have had real issues with the battery being drained after installing this. Am I right in thinking I need to disconnect the orange and red wires from each other in order to stop the battery being used as the power source ?

My battery is drained after installing. I’m aware of the constant power on issue but I thought if I just turned the radio off after use it would be ok. Is that incorrect? Is the only way to fix it by cutting the constant power cable? How do you identify which one that is?? Please help thanks

Hello make sure you disconnect the red and orange wiring connection from the wiring harness as we show on the video, if you do this the stereo will work only with the key and will never drain your battery, thanks!

Mine's running without the Ignition switch what have I done wrong
Make sure you disconnect the orange and red connection from the wiring harness, then it will works only with the ignition.
