There is no car that looks better than a forty ford . In my humble opinion especially black and the front end with the beautiful styling begs flames sir you own the quintessential hot rod thanks for sharing this beauty.
Love the car. In that day it would have been an Olds or Caddie. Not a flame guy but again, in its day most had some. One of my fantasy cars for sure. If they won't rodded they would all have been in the scrap yards.🦇
I had a 40 coup for my first car. Soon the block cracked, and I put in a brand new 64 283 high performance. Immediately the transmission blew and I installed a Muncie and Chev real end. I loved it. I stiffened up the suspension and it was a great flat tracker. Later on I installed ram induction with 2 fours. Then wrecked it. lol. Should have kept it. Only the rear end was squashed due to a 180 crash into a mountain side from a dead end road in the fog.
Fine looking Ford, these were always my favorite pre war cars. I have a 40 pickup that is stalled out in mid restoration, just never seem to have the time or energy to get it put back together.
My father has a 1940 Ford coupe deluxe hes trying to sell with 2000hp and nitrous. It had original frame that was extended 3in. Dale Earnhardt drove my father's car once. It was built by hendrix motorsports and a couple other big name companies. It's an absolute weapon.
Sir Chuck !! Nice restore of the hot rod ,,but would have liked to see the ''ol''flat head with triduce carbs on it to make the''Little Duce Coupe '' Anyhows,,did you get any hits on ''OL''RED ????? Would like to see it when its restored !!! KEEP IT SAFE !!! OPPPS !! Wrong video as ""OL""Red was on ''Spokemotors "" SORRY !!!
Sir Chuck !!! """OL''RED is that 53 International P/U that Ian put together in CA... has the winch in the bed as was a log truck in its day !! KEEP IT SAFE
My dream car. Used to have a huge RC car of one in blue (wish I could find it online)
The 1940 Ford coupe is the most beautiful car Ford ever made
i love the valve covers with the wire holders.
Very nice car, with a really classic look of "hot rod". Thanks for taking us along, Chuck.

Very nice car, sure wish it was a flathead V8. Like what you did with valve covers!
A man who really enjoys his car! Not afraid to take it out of the garage.

Hello: I love that car. It made me think of my friends completely original 37 Ford 2 door in a grey color.
Beautiful, simply beautiful.
Very cool
Beautiful 40 Coupe, however I prefer Ford engines in them.
YOU RIGHT HOT ROD HAS TO HAVE THREE PEDELS
Beauty! Hi John!
Fine looking Ford, these were always my favorite pre war cars. I have a 40 pickup that is stalled out in mid restoration, just never seem to have the time or energy to get it put back together.
There is still time...

Great flames!

It's also a very nice driver.
John your car is to die for. T O'Connor
Hopefully not....
Love it ! ESP the 4 speed
It is a great ride.
Looks good, but why in the world would you put a Chev V8 in a Ford V8?
cheaper than a ford
I just brought a 40 Ford with a flathead.
You and your 1940 Ford will be noticed!

@@KB-gs8zi Thanks.
NICE !
Wow Great looking Car I would Pull that motor out and give A Ford 390 !
Me podrías decir la medida de las llantas por favor?
The flames look very nice and not at all gaudy.
Resemble AMT model 40 Ford 3 in 1 box.
I had one of those models. If I remember correctly it could have been built as a 1939 or a 1940.

Right, nothing and about that.
This is a 70s style custom. That's when small block chevys and flames dominated the scene. By then, people were too lazy to keep running flatheads.
"Lazy?"
He screwed it up when he took the Flathead out of it!
at least its not a chevy
nice car..to bad its ruined with a small block chevy
Nice car too bad for the sb chev !
always a chevy. ruins a nice car
I would have put a small block ford in it, or a flathead or Ardun, but to each his own.
Same old hot rod. Same parts same set ups as every other dude.
