What about this new medicine that is called "Sugar Defender" by Dr. Tom Green. It says it completely cures diabetes in a few weeks. It contains Eleuthero Root, Astragalus, Coleus - Australian Lemon Leaf, Marca, African Mango, and Guarana.
It's probably blueberries, although I have a great cranberry sauce for holidays. Substitute allulose for sugar in the recipe on the bag of cranberries (I actually use half the amount they say, but you can experiment). That doesn't do anything to my son's BG. He can eat my Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner and dose for 10 carbs. He was dx at 11, does DIY Loop, now 16yo. Thanks for the great videos!
My daughter got diagnosed 3 years ago at aged 9 and I’ve watched your videos ever since.. I can’t put into words how much you have helped my family.. your an inspiration mate and wish you all the best from 🇬🇧 💪
Type 1 mate .. it used to be called child diabetes many years ago as type 2 is generally associated with older people usually because of lifestyle factors
I’m guessing your dad regrets not wearing a condom .. did you honestly not know the difference between type 1 and type 2 . Just a quick google search bro .. before chatting shit 😮
Tom, The vegetables that I often eat are in the green bowl. I also love brussels sprouts and mushrooms. The greens I love is endive or frisée. I love carrots but I eat very little because it spikes my blood glucose. Anyway, it's a great video! Thank you, Tom, and God bless🙏🌹
I really like you and I highly admire your work and appreciate your efforts, I am 28 years old newly diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, I was depressed, sad and saw no purpose of life I kept asking WHY I've been eating healthy since my whole life and never been overweight ... Alhamdulillah Your channel is a treasure for diabetics ... Thanks man ... Thanks
How do you get diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 28? Usually type 1 starts from a child or young teen and type 2 usually is diagnosed in older adults. Also if you've never been over weight and eat healthy your whole life it doesn't make sense. Unless you have alot of neurotoxin, weak adrenals/endocrine system from stress and environmental toxins, but idk.
@@Dark_Summers people with type 1 diabetes are almost always thin to underweight (Type 2 are usually overweight because of insulin resistance.). In fact, before the discovery of insulin to treat type 1 diabetics, most babies and small children with it died very rapidly over failure to thrive; they literally starved to death. Type 1 can happen at any time if the pancreas becomes compromised for any reason or the immune system does. It is less common for an adult to get diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, but it does happen. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes as an infant, my brother wasn't diagnosed until his 20's. Perhaps he had a stronger immune system and his pancreas still had working beta cells for a time. Anyway, there is clearly some hereditary component in our case. My Dad and Grandfather were also diabetics.
Just found your videos. This is great information not only am I prediabetic but also have high cholesterol. So this is the best information out there about high cholesterol issues. I did keto and disaster for cholesterol.
If I were a betting person, which I’m not, I’d place my money on you and your knowledge about blood glucose and insulin Tom over many endocrinologists and other medical professionals. Thank you.
Hello. My coment maybe doesn't have to do so much with the content of the video but me as a diabetic since 1.5 years old i think my experience is important. And yes i do see a lot of your videos not all but a lot and it did encourage me to change/balance especially my diet. So what i would like to say is how our job can affect diabetic life. I am a gardener and as a gardener i do a lot of physical exercise wich substitutes the insulin (i mean i slow down the spikes naturally). I didn't choose this profession just because i love gardening but also because gardening would give "on obligation " the exercise i need to keep fit. I do think the rotine of different jobs affect directly the diabetic and therefore is also a interesting point to talk about.
The work u put in too ur studies is admirable!! I got diagnosed with diabetis on January 24 and i got so depressed the first month then finally i started to educate myself and found out that we can live on diabetes, its not easy to change our eating habits but videos like this makes it so much easier to know what to eat.. I sincerely thank U!!! I wish u all a happy and healthy life 😊 Subscribed ❤
Excellent video! I substitute spaghetti squash instead of pasta and I love to make Brussel sprouts. Keep up these great videos. My HbA1C has dropped from 11.3 to 5.7 and my blood sugar hasn’t been over 126 in weeks!
Great video! Your in-depth testing and clear explanations make it so much easier to understand how different vegetables impact blood sugar levels. Your dedication to sharing real-life experiences and practical advice is truly commendable. Thanks for providing such valuable insights for those living with diabetes!
Very good to know all those friendly vegetables! I’m have a kidney problems too ! Can you tell us what good for kidney ?? Thank Doctor ! God bless you !!
Hi, I love your videos and was anticipating for some new contents. As a diabetic I believe that only another diabetic can understand the challenges this condition brings, doctors are trained and may have data etc to give advice to their patients but unless they themselves suffer from it they don’t see the ins and outs compared to someone who lives with in 24/7. On another related topic, I’m currently pregnant and I found that prior to my pregnancy things were fine and relaxed. Doctors were fine with low carb diets etc but as soon as I got pregnant it became stricter and the advices was to eat more carbs completely different to before. I did my own research and kept my carb reasonably low, and had to increase my insulin. Some of the advices contradicted what really worked before and still works now. Online and via healthcare you get very worrying language like the baby brain will not grow properly if you don’t eat enough carbs, when facts are vegetables and meat have greater benefits for growing babies in the womb than carb. Has anyone else experienced this??
There can be a large difference between cooked and raw. Other influences included: Surface area - chopped, ground or smoothie Combining with fat or protein Combining with vinegar
Thank you for your videos! So much useful information.... am trying to find the recipe for Zucchini Meatballs that you mentioned... can you tell me where I can find it?? TYSM!!
Thanks for this video, it was so informative! I am also a type 1 diabetic and thought I had made zucchini every way possible, but I never thought about zucchini meatballs. Genius! I am definitely trying that! Thanks again for the amazing recipes and great information!
Thank you for the knowledge it's very interesting I understood and received a lot of interesting information I've been eating all the good veggies just cause those are the ones I like the most ❤❤❤
Well, this explains why my blood sugar spiked with a meal I had recently. Red peppers and sweet potatoes likely to blame! I will try the boiling and cooling trick to see if it might help.
This is amazing got diagnosed with diabetes 2 weeks ago just got out of the hospital last week Friday it’s a challenge and interesting managing and applyingy insulin. I’m good now at applying it . But I am still trying to adjust my blood sugar. This will help me
Spinach has 656mg of oxalates per cup, which is really not good for the kidneys - which of course diabetics need to bear in mind. Kale, however, has only 2mg per cup. 😊
ITHANK GOD AND U FOR FINDING U TODAY, U A AN EXCELLENT HEALTH TUTOR IN REGARD TO DIABETES , PARTICULARLY MYSELF HAVE APPRECIATED YOUR VIDEO AND WIIL FOLLOW U FOR UPCOMING VIDEOS SENT BY U. GOD KEEP U WELL DR TOM?! YES!?
Thank you for all the great blood sugar info. I love your great charts. I’m going to recreate the fruit & veggie bowls as refrigerator magnets as a reminder for meals with your permission.
Thanks for this info. I am a type 1 for ten years now. I love broccoli and cauliflower and cauliflower rice. I make a lot of stir fries with chicken. I do not eat many potatoes. And my fave food used to be French fries. 😮 not anymore. I don’t eat corn at all or pasta or rice. It’s my preference. Thanks.
@kendrasmith6637, So is this considering what you eat all day long for your meal? How's your A1c? I am diabetic 2 and needs some help in that area of meal preparing.
Cook potatoes then freeze once cooled. It's best😅 also instead of using a whole onion, try using one sliced piece of onion chopped up for taste, similarly with peppers etc. I prepare onions and freeze 😂 ready to use. Similarly with leeks, celery, carrots, parsnips, Brussel sprouts, cabbage, broccoli etc, I cut cabbage into portions removing middle indigestible core. I prepare and blanche greens including runner beans, broad beans, garlic I chop into frozen bag of onions, peas, small portion. If all things are reduced in sizes no reason to worry, and still enjoy nutritious meal. I eat variety, but enjoy my food. I eat a lot of meat, and lots of variety of veg along with meat. I no longer feel hungry
There are things that I look at like glycemic load instead of glycemuc index. Also, converting carbs to resistant carbs by means of cooking, cooling/freezing over night then reheating. 😁👍
I learned to prebolus meal insulin doses years ago. It definitely helps to moderate blood sugar spikes. It should also be noted that the prebolus is part of how insulin pumps are used.
Broccoli 🥦 is my favorite vegi but it is expensive in my country Guyana 🇬🇾 l love your videos thank for shearing your life experience with us my glucose is 8 at at age 50❤
Green Bowl Options:Broccoli, Cucumbers,Lettuce, Green beans, Garlic,Celery, Asparagus, Zucchini, Kale, Cauliflower, Cabbage, Spinach ! Wow..thank you for these ideas...most grateful
i love your videos! So informative!! But after watching this vegetable one - you mention adding them to you dishes - example the peas. Do you have any videos of some of your favorite meals you make for examples?
Have you looked at green bell pepper specifically? I am not diabetic, but I am on a ketogenic diet and green bell pepper is something I can eat without even thinking about it.
Spinach is very tasty but it is very high in Oxalates . It can cause kidney stones, UNLESS you combine it’s consumption with calcium rich foods such as yogurt & cheese. I ate a lot of spinach without calcium, suffered painful kidney stones for 4 years. Had Lithotripsy to get rid of it.
Hi @TypeOneTalks, I Love your channel and follow it very closely. I am 2 years into my diagnosis with diabetes and so far I think I have managed to stop the progress and make some remission. I achieved that and managed to get out of insulin totally by doing 60 km of walking per week, 50 km of running per week, 4 Times at the GYM with the right Supplements. which those supplements are anti-inflammation (such as - wheatgrass supplement, Hibiscus, zinc, vitamin D, roses - relaxing), and a low-carb diet (up to 100gram per day). But I can't take my pancreas back more as it feels like I have reached the body's limits. I wanted to gain some more weight but needed insulin to do that. I would love to get hosted (dreaming!) with you on the channel and talk about how you can get "out of insulin for X period of time and keep it till you are out of the honeymoon period - after initial diagnosis". I think I can take the honeymoon period for a lifetime BUT it will be until I want to gain more weight and for now it's exhausting. (Kind of blocking it).
Have you tried the lower glycemic index potatoes called Huckleberry Gold? I wonder how they compare to regular potatoes. I've ordered some to grow. I hope they really are better for blood sugar spikes than russets.
Thankyou i found you very helpful i am type 2 always high up the hospital i just found it hard to cope with it now i found your video im glad to see see how you have researched and study it i will follow to put this every day into my life from now on thanks again ill be watching from Australia 🕊️🤍🌺
I am a little confused. If i boil the potatoes and then refrigerate, then microwave ,am I still receiving the benefit or must they be eaten cold? You are a sweet man and I thank you for this channel! I hope you diabetes program has much success.
@TypeOneTalks Thanks For The Help You Provide to Diabetics like me you give me inspiration to keep my glucose in control and not give up because sometimes diabetes can be difficult to manage you helped me so much since i got diabetes 3 years ago I like your tips thanks for giving real life tips from your experience Thanks Alot Gorg
This is indeed good info. but I'd like to hear how to eat to meet caloric/energy requirements in the healthiest way possible. I don't think we can eat enough green bowl veg to meet those needs without exploding. I did see a recent study on oatmeal and how it was a good option for blood glucose control. I have noticed it does help tame my previously wildly out of control BG, but man cannot live on Oatmeal alone!
Thank you so much for your information, I have been just diagnosed with type 2 and using good foods to keep my sugar down. Do you have any information on spaghetti squash? It looks like it would be a good vegi (fruit cause of the seeds ). Hoping to hear your thoughts. thank you Mitch
Will it be worse if they are cooked and a natural sugars are released when things get caramelized they taste sweeter will it make a difference if they are cooked
I'm not Diabetic bit my mom is and I make veggie stir-fry with Broccoli, Caluflower, Red onions, Carrots, Garlic,Sesame seeds, sprouts, a tad flaxseed & peas. I'll need to cut back on some of the veggies after watching this. I do have a Tofu or Lentil burger with it.
I think that's a great combo! I see veggies as very beneficial component of any meal in general. Better than pretty much anything else. Although some of these might raise blood sugar slightly they have positive impact on insulin sensitivity compared to processed foods. Not sure if you need to cut back on those veggies. I'll leave tha up to you just my two cents:)
Hi, could you please recommend any resource which explains all the details about how the different food nutritions affect the blood sugar, and any other food facts to keep in mind, actually i am looking for type 2 diabetes table book, website or whatever
Oxalates, Lectins, nutritional minerals contents for diabetics for vegetables, fruits and proteins with carbohydrates combinations in diet are the best balanced foods.
I'm beginning to think that GI should be a standard part of a nutrition label. As a pre-diabetic citizen trying to improve health standards, that information is not the easiest to find but effects everyone.
Hi. I am a type 1 too, I was just wondering if you know from experience which are safest basal insulins to be on 1: a low carbt/ high fat diet. And also 2: A Vegan diet. I want to experiment a bit with these diets but first I am on low carb diet and I am on Treaiba 200 ml. The thing With tresiba and low carb is that I’m not sure how much I need to lower it from 24 units per day as I seem to be getting midnight lows that turn into morning highs. Would levimer be a more adaptable option. Thanks in advance if I get a reply. Ps these videos are great and I appreciate the work you put in. 👌🏻😎 Thankyiu
I want to thank you for your videos. The thought, care, and time you put into these productions really shows. I look forward to each new one, and also go back and rewatch older ones. You help so many people, like myself, and are an excellent teacher and role model.
Thanks for the Video. I am Type 2 and have not gotten around to do as extensive measuring as You do. At some time I thought, it might be a good idea, to have place were such measurements could be collected. A community research project in a way ... ... Other Subject: Have You ever tried Topinambur as Potatoe Alternstive? One Recommendation for getting bloodsugar frierndly Snacks: Try Tsukemono. Its a good way to get more out of a lot of Vegetables.
Its an idea that upto now is not practicle for most people to do. Test strips for me are 1$ per test... if u want to plot the curves you need to be on a monitor to see the curve... 2nd, not everyone has the same reaction... example, common bread for me is like eating raw sugar... i have to go sugar free on breads, then wheat free for better control. Read an article where freezing makes bread less reactive, and toasting even more so. I suspect diabetes causes some people to become wheat sensitive or hypersensitive.. freezing and toasting bread helps alot... i cannot live a bread free life.
@@ronallens6204 I agree that it's not Easy. But we have a lot of people regularly measuring their blood sugar anyway. Next to those that need to do for diabetes, there are many that do it for fitness monitoring. There are differences in the way we react, I e.g. do react slowly on noodles. But with secondary Metadata it might be possible to identify groups of similar reactions. The main issues would be building it to a good privacy standard and having the possibility of analyzing the anonymized data through experts. Building such a system would surely be taxing, but helpful, too. Currently I struggle to see if my reaction is normal or not and where to look for alternatives. While artificial sweeteners usually do not heighten glucose levels on themselves, there is still the open question if it increases insulin resistant due to biome changes. Such questions might be solvable if enough people would take part in such an endeavor. I see an advantage in building such a system. But this is nothing that can be done by one person. There are to much legal, technical and scientific issues to handle.
What unit of measure are you using in your graphs that start at 100? My good range is between 4 and 10 and I'm told if I go over 30 I might need to go to the hospital.
no insulin at all? since its a very small amt, confuses me because I was taught that carbs=energy and to not worry about my dosages around low carb meals like this as long as im taking my insulin

Nice program.?Respect your diligence. Spinach for me is terrible:oaxalates. I suffer from kidney stones.
Spinach has 656mg of oxalates per cup, which is really not good for the kidneys - which of course diabetics need to bear in mind. Kale, however, has only 2mg per cup. 😊
The main factor is hydration and microbiome when it comes to kidneys to obsessive about these oxalate, there are many synergistic factors
I understand that cooking the spinach breaks down the oxalates. Not a fan of kale.

which those supplements are anti-inflammation (such as - wheatgrass supplement, Hibiscus, zinc, vitamin D, roses - relaxing), and a low-carb diet (up to 100gram per day).
Thank you so much. Ihave learned a lot and appreciate your assistance.
Have you tried the lower glycemic index potatoes called Huckleberry Gold?
I wonder how they compare to regular potatoes.
I've ordered some to grow. I hope they really are better for blood sugar spikes than russets.
great presentation - very helpful
Thankyou i found you very helpful i am type 2 always high up the hospital i just found it hard to cope with it now i found your video im glad to see see how you have researched and study it i will follow to put this every day into my life from now on thanks again ill be watching from Australia 🕊️🤍🌺
This a very important video. Thank you so much.
I am a little confused. If i boil the potatoes and then refrigerate, then microwave ,am I still receiving the benefit or must they be eaten cold?
You are a sweet man and I thank you for this channel! I hope you diabetes program has much success.
The most benefit would to eat them cold, make a cold potato salad.
Ask yourself this question, "why do I have to heat everything up"?
If you heat them up after refrigerating you will lose part of the benefit but not all.
Good to know!
Thank you for the video it really helped my dad
Good to see you.
It has helped me alot with my family, just been taking cucumber puree.
@TypeOneTalks Thanks For The Help You Provide to Diabetics like me you give me inspiration to keep my glucose in control and not give up because sometimes diabetes can be difficult to manage you helped me so much since i got diabetes 3 years ago I like your tips thanks for giving real life tips from your experience
Thanks Alot

Enjoyed watching yr video of Sugar Friendly vegies.
Wld appreciate,if you can do a study on BITTER GOURD and FENUGREEK LEAVES and MURINGA LEAVES...
Excellent video, thank you very much. What about Kohlrabi?👌🤔
Thank you for putting out what has worked for you. I am T2 Insulin Dependent.
And thanks for watching!
Hi, could you please recommend any resource which explains all the details about how the different food nutritions affect the blood sugar, and any other food facts to keep in mind, actually i am looking for type 2 diabetes table book, website or whatever
Oxalates, Lectins, nutritional minerals contents for diabetics for vegetables, fruits and proteins with carbohydrates combinations in diet are the best balanced foods.
question ... what does cooking effect GI ? ... thanks !!!
Please doctor 'help us research on Nigerian or african foods that has low sugar spike.watching from Nigeria
I'm beginning to think that GI should be a standard part of a nutrition label. As a pre-diabetic citizen trying to improve health standards, that information is not the easiest to find but effects everyone.
I really wish i had the recipe (chicken and zucchini) that the video had promised.
Thanks for doing these videos.
question: Can I squeeze 4 lemons and save it in the refrigerator to use it in 3 or 4 days? WOuld the lemon lose properties if I do so ?
Thanks I came upon yr channel today n doc says I'm on borderline, i don't want metformin
Thankyiu
Thankyou great information,
I want to thank you for your videos. The thought, care, and time you put into these productions really shows. I look forward to each new one, and also go back and rewatch older ones. You help so many people, like myself, and are an excellent teacher and role model.
Thank you so much for your kind words my friend!
Do you know why cooking increases GI? Is it because water is lost during cooking or is there more to it than that?
Thank you for this excellent information. What is your take on avocado?
I love jicama is that good for diabetes
Thanks for the Video. I am Type 2 and have not gotten around to do as extensive measuring as You do. At some time I thought, it might be a good idea, to have place were such measurements could be collected. A community research project in a way ...

Have You ever tried Topinambur as Potatoe Alternstive?
Apparently bread that's neen frozen, then defrosted spikes blood sugar less than straight bread. Have you tried this?
you are a very clever man thank you
I’ve heard adding vinegar to potatoes helps lower sugar
Great Information. What about eggplant?
Does pumpkin seeds help inhibit insulin spikes
If you cook the asparagus does it make a difference?
Great video! Thank you!
Did you try vegetable crisps (either roasted or freeze dried)?
no insulin at all? since its a very small amt, confuses me because I was taught that carbs=energy and to not worry about my dosages around low carb meals like this as long as im taking my insulin
Eat spinach with cheese to bind the oxalates
