I do still like it because despite the absolute shitty dub, I’d say it was nice ending to the Dragon Ball series before Super, but we might eventually get to a remake of GT.
Goku and Eis Shenron is one of the few full length fights from GT I got to see on tv when it aired on Nicktoons The intensity and Goku finding a way around being blinded was so cool
Dragon Ball GT is a pretty good anime and I really loved when Goku was on Shenron met Goku Jr and Pan getting through to Goku so he can transform into SSJ4
Fun fact: Goku vs. Baby was originally going to be the final fight of GT hence why it got SO much build and a pretty lengtly and epic fight at the end of it. They decided to continue on the series due to the game, GT: Final Bout being released around the time
Pretty sure that's not the case. GT was planned for some 150 episodes. There was concept art of SSJ4 Gohan and trunks. But it for low ratings thanks to it's trash first arc with the Dr myu, and it got it's budget slashed. That's why the dragons arc is so rushed.

@@Birick Well thats precisely what they tried to do, but 1- Making Goku young killed DECADES of character development. And a lot of the conflicts in the first arc are just dumb. Particularly considering how powerful are goku, pan and trunks. It truly breaks disbelief that some of these enemies are able to be any kind of threat. (Yet..at least he was smarter here than in Super. They somehow respected the character more). I would have appreciated it more if they found clever writing ways to create conflict. They did not. It was all "OH! This guy is as or more powerful than cell even tho he is a 1 episode bad guy with no backstory and it makes no sense for him to even exist and we dont even care to explain it" 2- Dragon ball Z had moved away from that lighthearted and low stakes playful style and became more of an action thing. It grew with the audience. I love normal DB, but for people who started watching after Z. Gt would have been a huge and weird shift. 3- The new madeup dragonballs make no sense. 4- First they make this quest look so epic "We will have to explore the UNIERSE!" Yet they find them so easy, and the universe seems to have way less variety than the first 30 episodes of original DB. I loved GT. But it has big problems. And I can see why it lost ratings and budget. If everything was half as cool as the bebi saga, it would have been way longer. In my opinion Dr Myu's saga was the worst, and likely what killed GT. Super 17 was...half decent. Evil dragons was a GREAT idea rushed and ruined by small budget.

GT was part of my childhood. Goku vs Baby Vegeta was my favorite fight of the series, Super Saiyan 4 is my favorite transformation other than Ultra Instinct, and the series finale is one my favorite anime finales ever. I know not everyone likes and I’m okay with that because GT was part of my Dragonball experience as a kid. R.I.P. Akira Toriyama. You made my childhood awesome. You will be missed.
SSJ4 was definitely the height of the series and is still one of the most bad ass saiyan transformations. Also that wasn’t Pan’s first Kamehameha. She’s seen using it in an earlier episode.

I always feels like Super Saiyan 4 should be canon. that's what a peak Saiyan should look like in his strongest transformation. look, Saiyans are shapeshifters, they can transform into a gigantic ape and they can also transform into a Super Saiyan and if you combined those two different forms, it should be the Super Saiyan 4. I hope the canon transformations of Goku didn't ended in SS3, I wonder what SS4 + Divine Ki would look like.
For some reason DBZ GT was overhated . Which is especially weird because its the only show where there is actually jeopardy, because if you die ,you die. It really fixed DBZ biggest issue and problem
GT had some of the best ideas for stories. Traveling throughout the galaxy to find new Dragonballs, Super Saiyan 4 and Overusing the Dragonballs are great ideas. Just very bad delivery in the end sadly.
My issue with gt fights was the level of choreography. Unlike other DB entries, GT doesn’t have a fight that honestly stood out for solid choreography imo.
DBGT exposed a big inconsistency when Goku fought Cell & Freiza in Hell, he couldn't kill them, they kept regenerating. However, he told Vegeta if he died while already dead fighting Buu , he was gone forever. I did enjoy the Shadow Dragon saga because highligted the perils of using the Dragon Balls too much & how its power was being abused even if it was with good intentions. Death didn't really have a meaning to the Z crew b/c they'd always resurrect someone, that's why the History of Trunks was so good b/c life was more valuable.
I still think the best explanation for Vegeta and Baby is that Baby interrupted Vegetas transformation into SSJ3, and then Babys transformation of Vegetas body and the fact that he was able to take it to golden Great Ape proved Vegeta was strong enough to do it himself, but Baby probably ruined that for him and to achieve it naturally, hed have needed a new spark moment.
GT isn't as bad as people say it is. It's a good continuation of dragonball z, has some pretty good fights, has a great saiyan transformation with Super Saiyan 4, and clearly has the best ending of any dragonball series. Decent list of the best fights in dragonball GT.
I was actually into GT when I was kid. Then I heard how much people disliked it. Went back to watch a few years later, and I realized how much of a step back it was. I believe it was Goku vs Ledgic actually that made me realize. It was when one of them said," We'll fight when that rock hits the ground." or something along that line. It may have been different in the sub, but I noticed cracks. Going back to formula with search for the Dragon Ball, but IN SPACE! Super 17 is just the Cell Saga again. Ssj 4 Gogeta flopped. Among a few more. Not to say it never had its good moments. I love Pan and Uub as characters, the Baby Saga is goated, and Piccolo's sacrifice... I cried manly tears that day. At the end of the day Gt was just alright. I was more upset that these guys keep trying to stretch Dragon Ball without realizing how much they hurt it in the end.
When "GT" ended in 2005, that was my "jumping off" point for following anime on broadcast TV. End of an era. I was one of those who didn't really make the transition to Saturday night Toonami. Plus, I was a grown up with responsibilities by that point.
GT have a few thing that I really like about 1: Super Saiyan 4 2: GT Goku, especially the SSJ4 version, is 100% better than Super Goku 3: Shadow Dragon, I like this storyline because it’s finally bringing some consequences to the dragon balls. This arc shown that the dragon balls is not something they could just used to negate the consequences of their latest adventure

not surprised that Goku's battle with Baby would be #1. i mean this got did take over the world, brought his planet back to life and even fought the son of the king who took over their planet.
I still rather GT to Super simply because it's more Dragon Ball than DBS. I still understand why it got the hate back in the day due to the slight shift of tone in its earlier episode's and Goku being transformed back into a kid. I myself never liked that when I was watching the show back in the early 2000s but understand Toei's perspective of trying give it an OG Dragon Ball feel with kid goku Pan and Trunks searching for the Dragon ball like how Goku Bulma and friends did back then which is a nice homage and most importantly (WHICH I THINK ALOT OF FANS IGNORE) is that Goku had to be somewhat nerfed in power to truly tell another story and try to maintain power scaling because GT takes place around 5 or 10 years after Z which means Goku would have been too OP which makes the other characters either insignificant or couldn't really explain how they would get a sudden bullshit power boost.
Mojo has little respect for Dragon Ball, yet they sure will Milk The Living Hell Out Of It. Cover all the anime you think is better, at least a little bit more. Everytime you look up they're cranking out some kind of DB vid. It's goofy.
The Goku vs Rildo fight is definitely missing from this ranking. It was a great fight. This series, like many others, has its flaws, but I still like it very much. I understand that some people may not like this series, but I don't understand why people should hate this series.
The 1 thing that I never liked about dragon ball gt was the fact that when it got released for dvd in 2017 it didn't have the iconic opening that was shown on jetix back in early 2009. That opening i really loved i still have the complete series of dragon ball gt on dvd i rarely watch them because of a opening that i don't like. But hey its just my opinion though on what dragon ball gt opening i would rather have.
Me too, and I've heard many people say gt's animation was way better than Super but why do I see the opposite (it's true that super has some bad scenes but the arcs after frieza are good to me. As for gt, I think the art is ok but the animation is not good at all )

To me, GT is a better sequel than Super. Canon or not. It's a classic. It's authentic. It's faithful to the franchise. What more can you want.

Those are the only things that I liked about GT.
I still rather GT to Super simply because it's more Dragon Ball than DBS. I still understand why it got the hate back in the day due to the slight shift of tone in its earlier episode's and Goku being transformed back into a kid. I myself never liked that when I was watching the show back in the early 2000s but understand Toei's perspective of trying give it an OG Dragon Ball feel with kid goku Pan and Trunks searching for the Dragon ball like how Goku Bulma and friends did back then which is a nice homage and most importantly (WHICH I THINK ALOT OF FANS IGNORE) is that Goku had to be somewhat nerfed in power to truly tell another story and try to maintain power scaling because GT takes place around 5 or 10 years after Z which means Goku would have been too OP which makes the other characters either insignificant or couldn't really explain how they would get a sudden bullshit power boost.

This series, like many others, has its flaws, but I still like it very much. I understand that some people may not like this series, but I don't understand why people should hate this series.

The 1 thing that I never liked about dragon ball gt was the fact that when it got released for dvd in 2017 it didn't have the iconic opening that was shown on jetix back in early 2009. That opening i really loved i still have the complete series of dragon ball gt on dvd i rarely watch them because of a opening that i don't like. But hey its just my opinion though on what dragon ball gt opening i would rather have.

Me too, and I've heard many people say gt's animation was way better than Super but why do I see the opposite (it's true that super has some bad scenes but the arcs after frieza are good to me. As for gt, I think the art is ok but the animation is not good at all )
