Find Coefficient of Variation | Statistics

  • The coefficient of variation is the standard deviation divided by the mean. Because the mean and standard deviation have the same units, the coefficient of variation (CV) is unitless, and is thus appropriate for comparing variability between measures with different units. The CV can also be used to compare variability between groups with very different means. We do a basic example of calculating the CV for a sample and calculating the CV for a population, then do a word problem example with coefficient of variation. #statistics
