My favorite scene in this episode was: "Leave your pets behind for just a stinking minute." "If they die, I'm going to kill you." "No you won't, you love me." AHHHHHHHHHHH!! I ship Fjorester so damn hard.
As we've seen numerous times throughout the campaign, most notably with the horny innkeeper, Fjord is only awkward and flustered when there is a romantic or sexual component to the conversation, and here Fjord is definitely awkward. Jester isn't even hardcore flirting, she's just being her normal nice self, and Fjord is awkward as heck - I think it's safe to say at this point, that both Fjord and Travis are starting to give in to the flirting from Jester/Laura
The whole interaction about Fjord finding the bag and Jester's reaction reminds me of a quote from If the Emperor had Text to Speech: "THERE IS PASSIVE AGGRESSION IN THE AIR" "It's not as passive as you'd like to BELIEVE, SANTODES!"
Maybe this is the wrong place to post this, but I have a serious comment that i wanted to discuss with someone for a while now: As cute as I think the two are together and as much as I want their happiness, (and this my opinion, so don't go sharpening your knives just yet) from a meta-storytelling standpoint I don't think the two should get together, at least not any time soon. Consider this: Jester's character arc is primarily about coming a more well-rounded person and growing out of the child she is because of her sheltered upbringing. Part of that upbringing is her unusual view towards sexuality, as Laura specified on Talks Machina. She knows about sex and about wooing a partner, but the concept of actual romance in pretty foreign to her. She's shown truly romantic feelings towards Fjord, but does't yet understand them. If they got together now, for Jester the relationship would have the emotional impact of a one night stand even if it became something permanent, simply because she doesn't feel the gravity of true love yet. Similarly Fjord, while infinitely more self-conscious of the implications of love and sex and at least marginally experienced in the latter, is deeply insecure about his thoughts and feelings on the matter and probably unsure about how to respond to Jester's attraction to him, because he doesn't know whether he could even be good enough for her in a relationship to feel satisfied himself, since he also isn't experienced enough to understand that love isn't based on how good everyone involved does in a relationship. If they started a relationship now, Fjord would practically torture himself about everything he does and just desperately try not to "mess up" instead of actually enjoying himself. Fjorester is still a long way from a perfect ship. As of right now it is only sour grape juice. It needs at least another 60-80 episodes to mature into a fine wine. What do you guys think? Am I just a raving Fjorester hater? Do I actually have a point?
@@PhileasLiebmann You have a point for now, but I'm hoping they both grow into the relationship. It might not take another 60-80 episodes if Fjord decides to ask the Traveller for Help dealing with Ukotoa maybe during "traveller con" whenever that happens - in Talks Machina Travis has hinted Fjord is considering becoming a Paladin to avoid having to release Ukotoa or suffering Ukotoa's wrath.
I expected any musical addition to such a busy show (voice-wise) would be too much, but yours work perfectly. I especially love the Fjord/Jester romance theme.
I swear that look that Jester gives Fjord at 6:38 is probably the look that Laura gave Travis the first time that they kissed in real life. And the expression on Travis' face when he said "what" was that he knows that look, a little recognition.
I am using the term spins for that from now on and with my party life familia I will probably either personally deal with it or have to explain it when it happens to others
You know... it's adorable watching Travis and Laura flirting as their characters. And I'm kind of jealous - they get to get to know each other all over again. ... I tend to create adversarial or unrelated characters to my wife's characters when we play D&D. Maybe I should consider trying that too. She gets pretty raunchy and coarse with her characters, but... maybe...
It's really funny when you interact that way. In my campaign my best friend (girl is playing a boy) and is a total play boy and is always flirting with me. And my fiance's character finally got the courage to ask my character to go on a walk with him. My best friends character asked my character to "help with something" the same day and my finace slams the table and goes "COME ON MAN!!! I'M TRYING FLIRT WITH MY WIFE!" The whole table totally lost it.
Oh oh do a classic rom-com trope like be adversarial at first so you guys hate each other but have that growing respect for each other that turns into awkward teasing, that turns into awkward flirting, then bare your soul stuff!
@@BaldursPicketFence to be honest, her characters would be likely to either try to get me arrested, or go pee on something, in the middle of that. I'm sure it would be hilarious, though
as someone with food intolerances and GI difficulties, i have to sympathize with the character of Jester here. It is not a fun time by any means. Though i do have to wonder at her ability to sit on a moorbounder for an extended period the very next day. And not be dehydrated by the event.
