this is so true... i remember after booking the phone the phone arrived after 1 year and then it was not working. exactly one year after they gave the phone its life line. then being the only phone in the block, we use to call neighbours all the time for their phone calls as they have given their phone numbers to everybody

Whenever i see these episodes, i almost cry. Looking atgr simple lives, simple public, empty roads, simple house holds, simple living. Life was so relaxed and soft and slow and peaceful. Now everyone is just running. Just running 24x7. Technology was supposed to make our lives easier, but did it really made it easier? It made it worse than ever. And worst is srill about to some in next decade. I pity all the kids who are born after 2005.

We used to go to STD to make calls while keeping an eye on the digital display showing running bill. Everything held importance those days unlike today. Kids who have been born in today's times will never see these golden times. Easy availability of everything has made those times completely obsolete.
Sigital displays came later. Earlier the PCO owner would start a mechanical stop-clock as soon as you said "hello". And he had an official price-chart to calculate the cost of the call.
These are gems of Indian comedy. The jokes are so well written, and they reflect the truth of Indian life in the eighties and nineties so well. Some of these scenes are still relevant. Bhatti saab's genius.
