Thanks Jarvis! I have been playing the big name guitars and want to buy one for stage appearance, but I simply cannot justify the expenditure. I own and play a BR 163ce and I have to say that it is the best sounding guitar I have played...and I have tried many in the $3K category. I don't like my BR, I love it....lots of bling, quality tone woods, and very easy and comfortable to play for my 3 hr gigs Thanks for your great vids.
Got one since 2 month. Incredible rich and defined tone. Everyone, who plays it, wants to have it. In direct comparison to a 1979 Martin D20 I thought, the D20 sounded a bit smoother, but that is possibly the result of aging, I don't know. Nice test, thank you!
Great review, man! I have the same guitar and bought it back in 2002 right when they just started bringing these guitars onto the market. Even though Saga has introduced upgraded models like the 160A, I still love mine and after watching this review, it reminds me that I should play her more often. Take care! :)
i was looking at some of the slimmer seagull guitars today at a local shop and i asked the guy there if there were any other slim model guitars and he hands me a blueridge. initially, i was like "oh cool, another obscure brand guitar" but it actually sounded amazing. a bit on the pricey side for what i was looking for, but i may have to spring for it. great guitar and great video!
nice playing, I am thinking of buying a used BR-140 locally, that I think sounds nice. I own and play a few recording kings that are also made in China. They offer some really nice affordable guitars for the money. Hope you are still playing and making wonderful music
Like Chad Chesebro below I know you are a very spirit filled Christian! It shows through with each and every video you do! Love all your videos! Blue ridge makes AMAZING GUITARS! I was at a Bluegrass festival last week . The guy had some Blueridge guitars there! He had a BR 140 their answer to the D 18. THAT GUITAR WAS A CANNON!! Sounded as good if not better and louder than any D 18 I ever heard! The 160 and the 180 were Amazing too! Don’ t get me wrong I love my Pennsylvania made Martin guitars too! But these Blueridge are unbelievable and at a fraction of the cost.
Awesome review man, is it possibly to put a zoom view of the guitar on the next review (if that possible of course) kinda want to see the texture and everything of the wood. Other than that i like your review.
I love you folks. Myself, I would like to purchase a BR-140A...back when I was rich and didn't know it I had a D-18GE...but I'm no longer rich, and I certainly know it.
Jarvis, my Larrivee D-03 is out of sorts and I'm thinking of getting a new guitar. Which of these do you recommend: Blueridge BR-160, Seagull S6 or maybe Simon and Patrick of equal value?
There seemed to be electronics on the side but you did not mention them. A close up of the electronics would have been helpful. I did not think the non-CE models had electronics. Did you add this later?
Can you please explain those terms to me. During my search, I have found that I definitely like the solid rosewood back guitars because of how warm and rich they sound. I have played some rosewood martins like Martin MMV, D-28 in guitar stores and really like that sound.
Well two days ago I traded my BR160 for a Br60.. I lost about 200 dollars but the br160 was so high pitched and tinny that I couldn't take it anymore.. I used a tonerite, tried different strings, put in bone bridge pins.. You name it i tried it. The 160 was loud but lacked bass and complexity.. The 60 on the other hand has all of that.. So I was lucky that a local retailer whom I didn't even buy the 160 from tool pitty on me and did a straight trade! Have you ever reviewed the BR 60? And I have to say this is my third blueridge guitar and I recent NEVER buy one online.. Play it first.. One could say that goes without saying but I really feel there is WAY TO MUCH fluctuation in sound quality with their guitars.. I ended up with a great guitar now but it costed me a lot of money I could've spent towards the martin I've been saving for.. But I must say this 60 almost makes me not want the martin! Almost... ;)
koidia0662 The Adirondack topped guitars tend to be louder because it's a stiffer spruce than sitka. Sitka spruce tends to be more mellow as its a bit softer but still very strong. Depends on your taste I personally prefer sitka myself but you'll have those that swear by Adirondack. It also costs a bit more as well.
Hey Jarvis, I'm about to get a Blueridge. Out of the BR-140A, BR-160 and BR-163, which would you pick personally? (I can't try them myself as there is no shop nearby) Thanks!
Jesus is the secret...do a search on Joseph Prince and watch his videos and you will know what...this person will impact the socks out of you...my life have been enriched...
Jarvis, love your reviews and your energy. You are a gift to the world. I'm sorry that you are giving credit for your gift to this world to a man whose existence is almost entirely fictional. Regardless, the world is a better place because of you. Best regards, now and always.
Sandy Strait hey sandy thanks for your kind words .. yes when you have a gift you just got to share it with the world .. sow love real love. I love guitars and music.. will continue to share what I love as Long as you fans out there continue to support my giving to this channel and this media format. It’s meaningful for me
@James Bowling Jimmy, thanks for your insights. Sorry if I offended you sensibilities. Good luck at the pearly gates. "Many are called but few are chosen."
Yeah, if Paul McCartney can play this BR-160 then I think the guitar must be good enough for a guy who can afford to buy 10 or 20 Martins or Taylors to put in his garage.
Always enjoy your reviews Brother. Bless you and your family. Thanks!
I love the review, I love your energy and your passion for playing!
Brother you rock! Go Blueridge!
Thanks Jarvis! I have been playing the big name guitars and want to buy one for stage appearance, but I simply cannot justify the expenditure. Great review, that is indeed how a BR160 sounds. Awesome complexity and projection.
God bless you brother. I can tell that you are spirit filled. Keep up the good work.
Bought the guitar today, and its beautiful!
Quite the strummers dream and it made you smile. Sweet!!

The BR-160 does have a pretty rich tone, and sounds pretty similar to the Martin D-28, but the D-28 definitely has more bass.
Awesome review man, is it possibly to put a zoom view of the guitar on the next review (if that possible of course) kinda want to see the texture and everything of the wood. Other than that i like your review.
i know the player has a ton to do on how an instrument sound, but it sounded fantastic, the player and the guitar aswell.
I love you folks. Myself, I would like to purchase a BR-140A...back when I was rich and didn't know it I had a D-18GE...but I'm no longer rich, and I certainly know it.

Simply amazing.
this sounds as good as any martin i have played !
Nice review man. Hey, do you know where to find Blueridge in Singapore? Currently am looking for BR-341 or BR-361
I used the same Zoom Q3 HD recorder using High level Mic that is built in...so its all the same setting in a quiet room
You sounds, Great! I bought this guitar last week. What kind of strings did you use here? Thank you
beautiful guitar.. i want one
You got that, "I'm married to this sound." Look. I have that look every time I play also.
Great reviews! How does the Blueridge BG140 compare to the LAG T300D? Which guitar is better?
Great review
There seemed to be electronics on the side but you did not mention them. A close up of the electronics would have been helpful. I did not think the non-CE models had electronics. Did you add this later?
where can I buy Blueridge guitars I'm Singapore?
4:51 Is that tune influenced by John Mayer, by any chance?
It totally is.

@vangmx Please play it soon as she is crying for your touch...cheers jarvis
Which guitar would you recommand between this one and a Martin D16rgt?
May the blessings of God be upon you.
ok thank you :) have you ever tried elixirs on a blueridge? do they sound good?
Hi, How does this guitar compare to Yamaha LL-16?
yes its true..sometime better sounding than some martins I've played..
Have been wanting to try something other than a Martin this time (D28 was stolen) .. this settles it, thanks!
I received that..thanks
More bling!
hi, taylor gs mini or this guitar?
you have to compare it side by side then you will hear the mark difference
could you review the BR-40 and BR-43 ?
What about Blueridge BR-160A? 160A is Adirondack top, and 160 is Sitka top, I believe. Is there a large difference between two models?
koidia0662 The Adirondack topped guitars tend to be louder because it's a stiffer spruce than sitka. Sitka spruce tends to be more mellow as its a bit softer but still very strong. Depends on your taste I personally prefer sitka myself but you'll have those that swear by Adirondack. It also costs a bit more as well.
Has anyone played a blueridge br-70? If so how did it sound?
just do what fits your pocket..however..if just a little money can help dramatically improve the tone and playability of your guitar ...then why not ?
12 gauge lights PB strings
what brand strings?
Hey Jarvis, I'm about to get a Blueridge.
Out of the BR-140A, BR-160 and BR-163, which would you pick personally?
(I can't try them myself as there is no shop nearby)
Thanks!
i think the 160a or 140a according to sound comaparison at maurys music
well I feel the same way too
not a fan of the head plate, but great guitar for the price. thanks jarvis.
Martin 000-15M ,....or just get a martin om1GT its really good
the blueridge has a more martin traditional tone...where else the LL16 is a more modern tone...
Martin Lifespan PB lights
Haha that improvisation is very leaned towards John Mayers No Such Thing
+Andy Durey lol, that's what I said. :)
6 i would say
Jesus is the secret...do a search on Joseph Prince and watch his videos and you will know what...this person will impact the socks out of you...my life have been enriched...

Take the Martin...
the blueridge has sufficient bass so its ok...martin has more bass...in fact bass dorminant
i have the 280a and love it....check out my andy mckee drifting cover on my channel to hear it.
blue ridge sounds better then Martin.
