back in 2010 this game was one of my favorite games of all time. Never got tired of smashing cars to the walls, driving boats and flying planes and all kinds of a things. This game is a real deal, nearly as good as BeamNG. Only RoR has higher selection and community than Beam but Beam has more modern content, graphics and stuff. Can't rly explain much how they are different from eachother. Let's just say RoR is BeamNG 1.0 and BeamNG is 2.0. You got the point. Neil, you do need to start making RoR content because haven't seen this game for ages
well, Pricorde and Tdev are the guys primarily responsible for both game engines, and gabester, the current lead beamng vehicle artist, made all of the old gavril mods, LJFhutch, the lead map artist for beamng, also made some pretty neat map mods back in the day!
A lot of the high tier mod makers from rigs of rods are still making mods today in BeamNG. Gavril was huge in RoR, and made some of the best cars back then too

What i love is that Neil has showed me a game to play with friends and no need for a gaming PC, and no need to pay for it, same physics, i really appreciate it, thank you :)

A few things. One: Rigs of Rods is completely free! Yay. Two: Rigs of Rods multiplayer has one downside, you can't crash into other players.You used to be able to, but then it got too FPS heavy. (Apparently) Three: Rigs of Rods is not all about vehicle destruction. The community tends to hate hearing people nag about deformation. It's about vehicle simulation, as well as deformation as a side thing. Four: Not all vehicles have collisions, some may just go through each other. Five: Rigs of Rods is very easy to run on low graphics. Our toaste- erm, computer. Can run it pretty well even though it lags out with a LQ Roblox game. ._. Five: Holy cow Rigs of Rods changed. I'm like only one or two updates behind and it seems totally different. Since when did teleportation become a thing?
I didn't know it had made a comeback, I used to play this all the time years ago. I've still got it installed on my old computer with tons of mods. And I would regularly go to the repository and get mods. And then one day the repository was gone. And the only mods I could find were being SOLD but not shared. So eventually I stopped playing
RoR was revived last year i think. It was completely killed off around 2013 or something... you could download it back then, only through a Forum post someone made on the RoR forums.... Damn, these devs are awesome. They revived this gem of a game. Such great times i've had here. Actually towing cars, proper tires that don't grab vehicles, proper planes....
@@zachariah74 Yes it did. I went back to download it (in 2013) after a few years went by without me playing it, and the website was just a forum and the RoR name as a main title for the website. The Repository was dead, and the forum was the only thing alive. This is recently updated gameplay, trust me.
I used to watch a lot of people play Rigs Of Rods back in 2010 and 2011 but lost interest later in 2011. Stumbled across BeamNG Drive in 2018 and I’ll say it’s pretty reminiscent of Rigs Of Rods and I wonder if the same people who created Rigs Of Rods decided to create BeamNG Drive since BeamNG drive since it has a lot more than Rigs Of Rods and is more up to date since BeamNG Drive was created in 2013 I believe. Not the world’s biggest video game person but I really do like games like BeamNG Drive and it’s a good way to pass time when you have nothing to do.
I remembered that game back in '08!! I watched some RUclips videos about that game and ohhh boy, I was really amazed how the cars were crashed in a wall or collided together!
BeamNG was created by 2 of the Devs from Rigs of Rods. We are going strong and completely community driven. Rigs of Rods is also completely free to play and download.
Please do more Rigs of Roads Neil. I played it 10 years ago and all the way until 2014 until system died on my old PC and i enjoyed this game so much and i want to see you play this game and make it a series like BeamNG.drive and i want to see you having fun with it. I had tones of mods and maps and one of them was the map you are driving on. Oh the nostalgia!! Edit: On that map you open you can see where your car is. There are like greyish cubes that are shaped like a car. But i forgot if you can spawn in the car or not. I think there's a hotkey that allows you to switch between spawned cars like in Farming Simulator. Sorry it's been a loooooong time since i played this gem. :)

Lol i used to make rigs of rods vids back in the day, funny how people are realizing that beamng was basically an attempt to revive a concept that was built on a platform that was about 10+ years old at the time. If its still around in the future, give it another 10 years before more crazy realistic game engines are invented.
Would like to see more series, and the character is actually called the ror bot, i thought it was weird at first to me as well. The version is the newest 4.8.0 which didnt release that long ago, i loved 4.7.0 but there was more crashing errors.
Rigs of Rods was good for cinematic crashes. Beamng Drive focused more on deformation and passenger compartment strength. these games must've been made by either true scientists or the institute.
I hate the controversy between the two Communities. The admins are all absolute pricks but the fact of the matter is most BeamNG players are oblivious to the fact that RoR is what Birthed BeamNG, and yet some people prefer it due to RoR being friendly towards lower end PC's. Both games also have a diversity of models, but if you like trucks and buses Rigs of Rods is known for that better, and if you just want to do drag racing and s$$$ by all means go for BeamNG. 🤷♂️

@@mefastman77 I didnt found the pack for all the mods in the vid, but there is a gabester Pack with all the gabester Vehicles (forum.rigsofrods.org/resources/gabester-vehicle-pack.12/). gabester is the guy who got later hired to do the JBeams for the BeamNG mods.

pro tipp: on some cars when you press Alt+F1 - f2... etc then you can open and close doors or CTRL+f1,f2,f3...etc

Hey Neil! When you downloaded the game, did you have to download the mods separately?
yes you have. There is a pretty big mod pack ( the one Neil used i think) that you can download and just drag and drop into the mods folder.
