Japanese Foreign Minister Commends on SJAHI

  • Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) has announced that Saudi Japanese Automobile
    High Institute (SJAHI) in Jeddah is a recipient of the Foreign Minister’s commendations for the
    year 2019, for promoting mutual understanding between Japan and Saudi Arabia. The
    Commendation awarded by H.E. Mr. Masayuki Miyamoto, the Consul General of Japan in
    Jeddah in a special ceremony held on Wednesday 25 September 2019 at SJAHI.
    The Foreign Minister's commendations are awarded to individuals and groups with
    outstanding achievements in international fields, in order to acknowledge their contributions
    towards the promotion of friendship between Japan and other countries and regions. The
    Commendations also aim to promote the understanding and support of the Japanese public
    for the recipients’ activities. SJAHI is the one and only institution selected for this award from
    Saudi Arabia along with other 62 groups all over the world.
    SJAHI is an obvious symbol of close relationship between the Governments of the Kingdom of
    Saudi Arabia and Japan and it represents the strong partnership between the Automotive
    Manufacturers in Japan (JAMA) and the Japanese Automobile Distributors in the Kingdom of
    Saudi Arabia (JADIK) who are the founders and partners of the Institute.
    The actual study classes began in SJAHI in September 2002, and it was officially opened by the
    hands of the then Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud,
    may God have mercy on him, on Wednesday, March 19, 2003. SJAHI has been proved the best
    and accredited center for providing vocational training for Saudi nationals in the field of
    automobile technology and maintenance.
    SJAHI and its member companies (Japanese automobile distributors in the Kingdom) provide
    guaranteed jobs for young Saudis to work at JADIK workshops and service centers
    immediately after their graduation.
    SJAHI aims to refine the young talents, develop their skills, improve their technical knowledge
    and enhance their self-confidence.
    The young trainees at SJAHI have been provided with high level training facilities in terms of
    skilled and specialized instructors, direct and continued supervision from Japanese experts,
    latest equipment in the world, and management’s intensive care, effective support and
    continued support from the concerned government departments and contribution from the
    private sector companies participating in SJAHI.
    H.E Mr. Masayuki Miyamoto, Consul General of Japan in Jeddah, stated that Saudi
    Japanese Automobile High Institute, which is considered as a model for constructive
    cooperation between our two friendly countries, has contributed to the transfer of Japanese
    technology and Japanese work culture to the young Saudi generation. He also added that
    SJAHI has really deserved this award, which comes as culmination of the great efforts of Mr.
    Salim Al-Asmarei, SJAHI Director, faculty members and sponsors of SJAHI, who developed the
    Institute since its establishment to become one of the most important sources of the national
    skilled technicians for the Saudi automobile market and one of the most important sources
    for Saudization programs.
    H.E Masayuki Miyamoto extended sincere congratulations to SJAHI management, sponsor
    companies, Saudi youths and all employees and wished further success and prosperity for this
    country, under the leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin
    Salman.
    SJAHI Director Mr. Salim H. Al-Asmarei shared that Saudi-Japanese Automobile High Institute
    received this commendation for its worldly outstanding achievements and in recognition of
    the Institute's contributions in supporting the friendly relations between Saudi Arabia and the
    friendly country of Japan.
    This recognition enhances understanding and expresses Japan's support for the activities and
    contributions of the Institute that have paved the way to win this award, as SJAHI is the one
    and only unique institution that was selected for this honor not only from Saudi Arabia but
    also in middle east along with other 62 organizations from all over the world.
    This honor is a tribute to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and then to the sponsor companies of
    SJAHI, also to the management and staff of the Institute and its students. We are highly
    delighted with this honor and will be a positive encouragement for more productive, creative
    and excellent activities.
    Besides H.E. Mr. Miyamoto, Consul General of Japan in Jeddah, H.E Mr. Mikihiro Arakawa,
    Deputy Consul General in Jeddah, and Mr. Matar Eid Alanazi, Director of National Centre for
    Strategic Partnerships. the awarding ceremony was blessed with the esteemed presence of
    members of the Board of Director, representatives from partner companies, and working
    group members
